This was our first trip to Jamaica. We absolutely loved the resort, along with its staff (Cornelieur, Claudette, Ashika, Basil, and of course the piano player, to name but a very few). We felt like pampered guests. It was so nice not to have to reserve beach or pool chairs, and the staff at both places were friendly and helpful. The facilities at both were pristine (it's about that beach bathroom though - wow!). The food was wonderful - The buffet with its à la carte lunches, the Lotus Leaf and of course the beach grill. We were able to experience the BBQ on the beach as well - what an endeavour, but so well worth it. We had such a great time! If we could suggest anything, it would be for more clothing facilities in the room, and please, please, sometime, somewhere, servce Jamaican Patties! We hope to be back soon, and in the meantime, we hope that you and yours all fare well during this difficult time.
We travelled from the UK with TUI and spent the first two weeks of March at SATP. The place is absolutely amazing! So peaceful, so green, and the staff ultra friendly. There is nothing they won't do for you, you do indeed arrive as a guest and leave as part of the family. The rooms are totally different to anything we've experienced before. They are super quiet (unless you are near the road which we were, but it's only a little background noise during the day). You can't hear other guests, unless of course you include the bird life who appear on your balcony every time you open the patio doors! We even had a woodpecker visit one day - a bread roll goes a long way! The beach is gorgeous. Soft sand, gentle seas, we spent every day bobbing about on airbeds, a great way to top up the tan and keep cool. The pool was very quiet as well, with great bar service and plenty of beds available. The only downside would be the beds on the beach, the white one's are tired and need replacing. Go for the brown one's! The beach grill is open all day from around 1100, if you eat either side of lunchtime you won't have to queue. Lovely grub to boot. Take a large refillable thermos type mug with you, there's no issue with using your own and it saves walking to and from the bar, although you could use the red flag system if you don't feel like walking 50 yards! Food in the main restaurant was great, plenty of choices every meal, we never went hungry..... On occasion we were missed at lunchtime for the drinks service but that was because it had rained and the restaurant was unusually busy as a result. We have to thank a few members of staff who made our holiday extra special - Dorraine on the front desk, Nadine our concierge and Kirk at the beach bar. A special shout as well to the lovely security guard on the beach - AJ. The voice of an angel and always there to set up your beds and have a chat. Would we go back again - yes, in a heartbeat! Our thoughts are with all the staff who are probably isolating due to the current pandemic. Stay safe to all xx
Our Tropical Paradise
Our fun begins when Ian, our friend and driver [email@example.com OR 1-876-399-6489] meets us at the airport. Along the drive from the airport, we pass numerous huge, concrete, high rise, noisy resorts. Finally, we arrive at Sunset at the Palms....small, quiet, relaxing, peaceful, tranquil tree-house bungalows perfectly placed amidst lush greenery, majestic palm trees, beautiful flowers, swaying bamboo, hummingbirds, and tree frogs.....a Tropical Paradise! Please take time to enjoy the beautifully manicured grounds, the gorgeous beach and the genuinely gracious, caring staff who will do everything possible to make your stay exceptional. We hesitate to mention names, because over the years we've come to know and LOVE them all. [Kadian, O'Neil, Marlando, Dorain, Esroy, Kirk, Carson, Audley, Paul [piano player], Cornelius, Craig, Delroy, Conroy, Cleven, Claudette, Stacy, Shawn, Melissa, Bruce, Dorell, Kerry, Shorty, Gladston and Madge to name just a few 😍.] This year we were pleased to meet and chat with a new friend, Kamarla Simms, the new General Manager. We've noticed many improvements since our visit last year....most notably the beach restrooms!!!! Amazingly transformed!!! Hopefully, all our friends are well and safe from the Coronavirus. We're already looking forward to our reunion next year with our Jamaican Family. Roland and Elaine
My son and I stayed here from 10 to 20 March (plus another two nights!); it was an oft repeated return for me, the first visit by my son, and I was apprehensive that it would be too quiet for a 30 year old, but he fell in love with it just as I have. Everything was as usual perfect, from the rooms to the food, the staff to the beach. I would particularly like to thank Kayden and her team at the front desk (unfortunately I can only remember Daniella and Staci-Ann, but the other ladies also helped us in our hour of need!), Alycia who cheered me up when I got depressed about being stuck in Jamaica, and of course my old friend Claudette. It was such a shame that the complete non communication from Virgin Atlantic threw a shadow over the last half of the holiday when the hotel became emptier and emptier... We finally got home two days later than anticipated (thank you, BA; the bill's on the way to Virgin!), but rest assured that WE WILL BE BACK. I hope that all the wonderful staff at SATP (who remained cheerful to the end) will managed during this crisis, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon in the not too distant future :)
Had a very nice 10 day stay at Sunset at the Palms! After a long day of travel, and 2 tired and grumpy travellers, check in was a breeze, which was a relief. Accommodations are quaint and cozy. Sitting on the back deck watching birds and lizards in the trees was relaxing. Every night was a different theme when it came to dinner, so the variety was welcome. We met plenty of people around the pool area, some of whom we keep in touch with. A special thank you to the crossing guards. Navigating the road to get to the beach area would not be easy without them. The beach area is quite large with plenty of space for anyone wishing to be there. The service at the beach is fantastic. From finding and placing chairs for you, to bringing drinks and food. The menu at the beach is simple but delicious. Thank you everyone at Sunset at the Palms for making our Jamaican vacation a delight! Mark and Karla
