Stuck in the 80s
I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Its very dated and needs alot of work. not alot activities unless you went outside of the resort. food selection was the same everyday, drinks werw good. Thank god were not picky, but not a 4 star. Was built in the 80s and still stuck in the 80s. Had a wonderful time and would certainly visit PV again, but not this resort.

Awesome!...if you don't care about quiet bedtime or food choices for picky small children
Absolutely beautiful natural surroundings made up for small resort where the sound of music from (otherwise awesome activities) echoes into rooms where people may be trying to rest/sleep. We were blasted by music (which was, to be fair, really great) until 12 every night. We didn't have children with us but if we did, it would have been a nightmare. Food was 10/10 but almost no predictable food choices for children or people with simpler food requirements who sometimes rely on items such as fries/nuggets/ burgers. (There is a burger bus but its only open for lunch). Staff ALL very friendly and accommodating!

We will not be going back to Sunscape in Puerto Vallarta.
Upon arrival we were notified that the front desk was under construction. We were walked down a delivery area into a carpet stained conference room to check in. We were then led to a mediocre room and woken up by construction the next morning. The pool was not full enough for the filters to work so they were scooping out dirt and debris daily while people were swimming. It was all inclusive yet we were not allowed to take a bottle of champagne to our room, even if we paid for it. The only saving grace to this hotel was the Italian restaurant led by Ricardo, an excellent serve server and Cesar an excellent chef. I’m still perplexed to figure out how this is a Hyatt hotel. We will not be going back.

Not recommended
My experience at the Sunscape Puerto Vallarta hotel has been disappointing. There is a clear lack of control in the use of the sunbeds, which forces guests to get up very early to set them aside, since there are not enough for the number of people staying. The quality of the food is poor. In addition, when submitting complaints, the attention of the staff has been inconsistent: some employees do not attend to the disagreements and others appear to be interested, but there is no follow-up or solution. I have stayed in other hotels of the same chain and I have never received such poor service as on this occasion. I believe that the hotel should review these aspects, since they directly affect the guest's experience.

Very average experience...we will not go again.
We found that during our one-week stay at Sunscape, there were positives and negatives, as follows: Positive: • Friendly and helpful staff • Alcohol was of good quality and quantity • The pool was clean and a good temperature • Easy beach access was nice Negative: • Our room was right above the smoking area and too often we had to close our balcony door to avoid smoke • Our room was right above the outdoor nightly movie venue, and it was so loud, we could not hear ourselves speak without closing the balcony door • In general, there was too much noise, including unsupervised youths in the hallways late at night • The food was for the most part bland, and too often only warm instead of hot. The best food was in the Italian restaurant. • Our room was dated and somewhat shabby • There appeared to be no enforcement of any of the resort’s regulations (other than out of the pool at 7:00 p.m.) • The smell of the cleaning solution used by housekeeping was very strong and unpleasant in the hallway
