We will not be going back to Sunscape in Puerto Vallarta.
Upon arrival we were notified that the front desk was under construction. We were walked down a delivery area into a carpet stained conference room to check in. We were then led to a mediocre room and woken up by construction the next morning. The pool was not full enough for the filters to work so they were scooping out dirt and debris daily while people were swimming. It was all inclusive yet we were not allowed to take a bottle of champagne to our room, even if we paid for it. The only saving grace to this hotel was the Italian restaurant led by Ricardo, an excellent serve server and Cesar an excellent chef. I’m still perplexed to figure out how this is a Hyatt hotel. We will not be going back.

Not recommended
My experience at the Sunscape Puerto Vallarta hotel has been disappointing. There is a clear lack of control in the use of the sunbeds, which forces guests to get up very early to set them aside, since there are not enough for the number of people staying. The quality of the food is poor. In addition, when submitting complaints, the attention of the staff has been inconsistent: some employees do not attend to the disagreements and others appear to be interested, but there is no follow-up or solution. I have stayed in other hotels of the same chain and I have never received such poor service as on this occasion. I believe that the hotel should review these aspects, since they directly affect the guest's experience.

Very average experience...we will not go again.
We found that during our one-week stay at Sunscape, there were positives and negatives, as follows: Positive: • Friendly and helpful staff • Alcohol was of good quality and quantity • The pool was clean and a good temperature • Easy beach access was nice Negative: • Our room was right above the smoking area and too often we had to close our balcony door to avoid smoke • Our room was right above the outdoor nightly movie venue, and it was so loud, we could not hear ourselves speak without closing the balcony door • In general, there was too much noise, including unsupervised youths in the hallways late at night • The food was for the most part bland, and too often only warm instead of hot. The best food was in the Italian restaurant. • Our room was dated and somewhat shabby • There appeared to be no enforcement of any of the resort’s regulations (other than out of the pool at 7:00 p.m.) • The smell of the cleaning solution used by housekeeping was very strong and unpleasant in the hallway

The best family vacation!!
Just back from the most glorious time. We’re a family of 4, 2 boys aged 12 and 8. We’ve never been to Mexico before and our must haves were an incredible beach, fun entertainment for the kids and a swim up bar. It’s hard to capture in words just how great the staff are and they are truly the best. Christian, David, Linette, Josalie, Francisco and co: you made our vacation so entertaining and fun and we don’t know what we’ll do now without morning water aerobics and the 3pm crazy game. Mario and Ricardo at the bar: thanks for indulging us and the kids and knowing what they meant by “Kids Blue Drink”. The staff in the restaurants were so attentive and while there were lines at peak times, I don’t think we ever waited more than 10minutes. We loved the snack shack, best cheeseburgers!! The World Cafe is open air and glorious, tons of options, even for picky kids. We do highly recommend at least one meal at Food Park across the road tho! And get a milkshake from the cafe there. Nightly entertainment was incredible, highly recommend. The hotel itself has some wear and tear, I read that in the reviews and was worried tbh. But the cleaning staff: this hotel is spotless. Leaves swept up, floors cleaned. Clean, sparkling pool vacuumed daily, rooms cleaned and turned down at night and let me tell you, The pool bathrooms? Immaculate, honestly. I couldn’t believe it every day and honestly would expect it to be the grossest location. Renovations seem ongoing in places and I also want to make note that the coffee machine broke down several times, but within hours they fixed it and finally I believe got a new one. The elevators arent great, there’s two and one we named the Sketch Express but again, everything that didn’t work properly was fixed within hours. If you look hard enough and you want to be a downer, sure you can find stuff to complain about. But if you’re Looking for a phenomenal experience overall with people who bring so much joy to your vacation, then this is the place. Special shout-out to Rodrigo from Adventure Photos who took our family pictures and captured the most perfect photographic mementos of this spectacular trip. I cannot recommend him enough, do not pass up an opportunity to meet him and capture your own family. Looking forward to returning!

Family Fun
We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation at Sunscape (all-inclusive). We brought our 3, 6 and 8 year-old kids and everyone had a great time. Wonderful Entertainment team kept the adults and kids moving. Kids LOVED the kid only water park with water slides. The Explorer's Club was a nice way for our kids to have some well supervised, safe play time so mom and dad could take in a couple of dates. Facility is a little older but generally well-kept. Restaurants offered a great variety and the drinks were delicious from the bars.
