    enjoyed our stay

Really enjoyed our stay but we are not super picky. If youre looking for something with lots of food, variety and updated rooms, then maybe not the place for you. Great staff, Great Pool and Beach and most importnantly Kids had no complaints. Located next to the mall and can walk pretty much anywhere

I’d rather eat middle school cafeteria food

Where to even begin… My sister and I came to this resort to gorge on the all-inclusive meals and to get a nice end of summer tan. Unfortunately, it was somehow difficult to do both of those things. There are a selection of 4 restaurants throughout the resort, which isn’t bad. However, for some reason, some restaurants were closed on certain days even though the pamphlet/app said they were open. Not a problem at all, as my sister and I can eat the same thing 5 days in a row; we aren’t picky. Lo and behold, the quality of the food was unbelievably atrocious. As the vacation went on we started asking ourselves, “They can’t mess this up right?” To our disappointment, they absolutely can still mess up a simple mashed potato or a plain Alfredo pasta. Their self-proclaimed “higher end” restaurant, Da Mario, had our hopes up for some decent Italian cuisine. We were bamboozled with runny pasta sauces and a pizza that was seemingly made on a tortilla rather than flour dough. The only place that was mildly decent was the taco restaurant. This was a double edged sword, however, because the restaurant was like a sauna; massive fans in all 4 corners did nothing to alleviate the heat, but instead blew hot air into patron’s faces. Drinks were also lackluster; the syrups they used for frozen drinks were excessively sweet and easily separated from the ice in the mix. These resorts should want their guests to take full advantage of the “all-inclusive” aspect, but it was extremely difficult to be satisfied off of any of the food that was available at the Sunscape Resort. Moving on from the edible things, there was only one pool and it was pretty spacious. The downside? No matter what time of the day it was, there were never any poolside seats open; It could be 9am, 12pm, or even 6pm. Guests were not allowed to reserve seats at the pool, but the rule was never enforced. There would only be a handful of people swimming in the murky waters, yet all of the seats were occupied. On top of that, they always ran out of towels (which had a strange scent to them, kind of like cheese mixed with wet laundry). There were more open seats on the beach, but not many. We did not mind lounging at the beach, but be prepared to be approached by locals selling you tours, bracelets, clothes, etc. Not a huge dealbreaker, but I can understand it can get annoying especially when you’re just trying to relax. Additionally, the elevator broke during our stay, forcing people to climb 11+ flights of stairs to make it to their rooms in the sweltering heat. Oh, and they don’t have hair conditioner as an amenity, so either bring one or buy it at their stores. These are just some of the main issues that my sister and I had with the resort. I don’t write reviews EVER, but this is deserved. Maybe if you’re in Puerto Vallarta to do excursions, this hotel would be a good choice; the room was beautiful and we had no problems with it. If you’re only there to relax and chill at the hotel, I would look elsewhere. Never in my life have we been so excited to go home from a vacation; we were counting the days until we could pack up and go. The best meal we had during this trip? The Starbucks at the airport on the way back home.

    Good value for the price

We have visited other Sunscape Resorts so we had our expectations in check. The resort buildings and facilities could use an update, our room and the overall resort was clean. The mini bar was not restocked every day. During our 1 week stay it was stocked when we arrived and only 2 other times. Bottled waters were restocked daily except for the last 2 days of our stay. Water coolers were located on every floor but the one on our floor always seemed empty. The food was okay at the buffet restaurants but it lacked in options compared to even other Sunscape Resorts. Also, the same type of food was served night after night. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. The nightly entertainment, especially the Fire Show, was good. The beach and pool areas were great and by far our best memory from the trip.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Must for Families: The Explorer’s Club at Sunscape is AMAZING

Our family had the most incredible experience at Sunscape in Mexico, and one of the biggest highlights for us was the Explorer’s Club for kids! From the moment we arrived, the staff made our child feel so welcomed and excited to join the fun. The team is not only warm and friendly but also truly professional. We felt completely at ease knowing our little one was in such good hands. Each day was packed with engaging activities like arts and crafts, treasure hunts, swimming, movie nights, and even a mini camping adventure. Our child couldn’t wait to go back every morning and came back full of stories, laughter, and new friends. The facilities were clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed for kids of all ages. As parents, it gave us some much-needed relaxation time while knowing our child was not only entertained but also cared for with genuine attention and joy. The Explorer’s Club made our vacation so much more enjoyable for the whole family. Highly recommend to any families traveling to Sunscape. It’s not “childcare,” it’s a true adventure for kids!
