    Excellent stay for a mother-daughter duo!

    My mother and I had a fantastic time at this resort! The hotel itself was located perfectly centred to everything in Ixtapa. Additionally, the atmosphere was great since it was not too loud at night and not too loud in the morning. The amenities were clean and well kept! The room was kept wonderfully clean and the beds were extremely comfortable! The largest highlight of our trip however was meeting Giovanni from the Barracuda bar (beach bar)! He was an absolutely amazing staff member who answered all of our questions and needs. Definitely recommend meeting him if you have a chance, gem of a person and wish him all the best!

    Very happy we chose this resort

    We are a three-generation family of six and we were very pleased that we booked this property for our first family visit to Ixtapa in the second week of February, 2026. We had no issues with getting into two of the three restaurants with a four-year-old boy and a four-month-old baby girl. One of the restaurants has a 12+ policy and a dress code - fair enough. We also thought the property was modern and well cared for. No complaints about condition, and the staff were always terrific and helpful. We joined the Sun Club and were glad we did. Access to the exclusive lounge and an exclusive outdoor area was well worth the price. Two of us used the small but well-equipped gym several times and it was never crowded. The food was mostly middle-of-the-road, but at every meal we were able to find at least one dish that was very good. Try the mushroom risotto at the Italian restaurant. One caution; if you value quiet in the evening try to book a room on the north side of the building as the entertainment area is adjacent to the south side and can be quite noisy well into the night. We were on the floor 20 (actually the 11th floor) on the south side but the hum of the AC largely negated the external noise, so if you can't get the north side, try for a room high up on the south. We value quiet but were not too terribly bothered by the noise. All-in-all we enjoyed ourselves very much and would consider this resort good value for money.

    Family friendly ideal vacation spot

    Friendly staff, gorgeous beach & nice pool. Especially helpful concierge service. Wonderful guitarist and singer in the lounge. No issues with the food. Excellent air conditioning. Family friendly. Loved the Three Kings celebration. Suggest brushing up on your Spanish before heading here.

    a lower rating compared to last year.

    This is our second visit to this resort. It definitely doesn't seem to be as busy this year. PROs: clean rooms, clean resort, beautiful beach excellent for long walks. Sunsets are gorgeous. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is fine. Shuttle service from the airport is a great feature. CONs:.Lots of sound transfer from outside but none between rooms. There seem to be fewer staff in the dining areas- they seem to be rushed and it takes longer for them to show up for removing dishes, offering coffee etc. The showers have very little water pressure. Evening entertainment is ho-hum and there seem to be very few updates from the previous year. There are more beach vendors this year but they are not a bother However, for senior couples and young families it remains a good place to come to. Small kids will love it here and when they are having a good time, the parents will, too!

    The Heart of Ixtapa Beach

    Nice central location on Ixtapa beach. Pool area balances adult partying and kids activities well (separated pool areas). Pickleball and Volleyball activities very good. One tennis court. Great views from ocean suites. SunClub was a nice option for beach seating and separate daytime dining. Could use another specialty restaurant. Expanding the gym would be nice. Bartenders friendly; easy to get drinks. Could offer more biking tours or let guests borrow bikes on their own. Food is OK nothing special.. not many protein options. Coffee bar was popular. Need to break up monopolization of the cabana seats and pelapa poolside seats (reservation system perhaps?). Honeymoon suite room very comfortable. Staff were nice. A shuttle to Zijua or Playa Linda occasionally would be good.
