Jan 28, 2026The front desk staff is not all that
Currently at sunscape, OMG the front desk is not great, even though we requested a king bed, the guy at the front desk said 'we dont need to honor a request, 3rd trip to the front desk he said 'we have a king bed for you', like wtf you just told me we dont need to honor your request and we dont have a room with a king bed, 'we cater to families', most of the clientele is 60+ couples, very few kids at all. . We spent a lot on this vacation, do NOT accept a room on the tenth floor, they dont clean this floor until the last minute everyday, then if they do its might be a rushed 5 minutes, this is not at on the cleaning staff, this is on management. we are on day 2 without our room being cleaned, even though the maids cart was one room over at 9am, i get it might have been a move out, 10th floor is treated as second class. However after the sucky front desk service the girls are great, but the guy that seems to run that crew is terri le. Althoug our room has not been cleaned, until I called, other staff are amazing, throw out the front desk and keep everyone else. Roberto from the main buffet, Simon from the pool bar, and so many of the rest of the staff, are so great they are the only thing salvaging this vacation. Overall staff are second to none, I travel a lot and tip well, I always have. This is some of the best staff I have encountered but the crappiest front desk staff.

Sunscape is a very nice resort located on the beach in Ixtapa. We have returned to this resort, three times and have met some wonderful people both visiting and working at the resort. Giovanni is TOP Notch When it comes to serving beverages on the beach, he is always smiling, working very hard and works very fast. Our lobby, bartender Victor It’s always happy and serves excellent cocktails. We had the best lady who tended to our room whenever we needed it cleaned she made it spotless and her name is Augustina, always did an excellent job above and beyond.

Really good location, 20 min from the airport, 15min from Zihuatanejo all reasonable cab rides. Walking distance to many restaurants and market style shops which gives you that more authentic Mexico feel. Beach is great, easy to walk on with all kinds of activities gong on. Pool is big enough to not be crowded and has a kids section adjoined. Our room was ocean view with a balcony and plenty of space inside. Rooms were always clean and staff are quite friendly. Food options are plentiful with a couple different a'la carte and a buffet. The buffet usually had a different menu from day to day and the a' la carte menus are large enough to visit more than once and not feel repetitive. Overall we had a great stay and would visit again in the future.

Sunscape-tional !
The caring staff often wish you a Sunscape-tional day, truly reflecting their attentiveness, superb weather, and friendliness. As a couple, we prefer adult-only vacations, but this lovely family-friendly resort with a fantastic kids area kept them so entertained, it seemed adult-only in many respects. Loved the joyous sound of laughter from adults and kids alike. We chose the SunClub upgrade and were very pleased with it, and concierge. Among the many outstanding servers was a middle-aged gentleman at the SunClub bar who served perfectly curated drinks, Alicia Manny and Nacho at SunClub breakfast and lunch area and beach area, Jesus and Rene sunscape-tional bellboys, and Viridiana and Miguel at the gorgeous outdoor Bluewater restaurant. Only negative is there were four weddings during our one-week stay, sectioning-off areas that were part of the vacation package we paid for.
