A motel is better than this place, stay away.
Horrible hotel, your installations and a poor cheap motel are the same. The rooms are damaged and updated. Licking bathroom, sliding doors doesn’t close. Mosquitos get in. Sun club name ReBECCA is Racist…. She doesn’t like Spanish people. She was assisting me and because a Russian couple walk she didn’t excuse herself and went to speak with them and let me waiting for 15 minutes… The only god thing you have is the lady for the bar at the sun club private pool and the cleaner at my room. Plus I pay for a deluxe ocean view and gave me a regular old room full of with nothing working on it…. No one stay in room 7121 Thai place is a scam and racist. They didn’t even care I was paying for their more expensive room and sent me with my 2 kids .. 3 years old and 8 years old to the worst room.. saying they don’t have no more availability .

Old and rundown
Its an older hotel that could stand some serious upgrades. The elevator didn't work, the bathroom fan didn't either. I had a reaction to mold in the A/C unit. Management said they would get maintenance to change the filter but it never happened. Same with the bathroom fan, Management said they'd send Maintenance to fix but they did not fix it. The TV speakers were blown so there was constant static if you watched it. The beach is lovely and the best part about the resort! Most of the staff were very friendly. The food in the buffet cafeteria was marginal. Id' give it a 5 out of 10. The Italian restaurant on site was much better. Though I can't prove it, I believe the alcohol was watered down. I'd ask for doubles when ordering. It was my 1st time to an "All-inclusive" so maybe thats just the way they are. I won't stay at this resort again if I ever get to go back to Curacao. I think I'd rather stay in an Airbnb.

Terrible All Inclusive Property - Hyatt needs to renovate
We had a horrible experience at Sunscape Curacao. After experiencing another World of Hyatt All Inclusive two months before, we had high expectations of our trip and were extremely disappointed. We were not given the double bed room we had paid for for our adult children so our 6'4" son had to sleep on a sofa bed for the entire trip. Our air conditioning never worked to capacity so we were given a portable fan to help cool us off instead of fixing the a/c. My parents had a significant leak in their shower ceiling that had to be fixed over two days. My nieces were put in a room where the balcony door did not close completely so they were moved to another room a few buildings away. My parents were put in a handicapped room that was located on the other side of the property from all the restaurants. We were able to get them wheelchairs and one of the wheelchairs was stolen when we were at dinner at one of the restaurants on property. The soap was a tiny bar. We asked for more soap for 4 days in a row before we got some. A few of the staff were friendly but many seemed miserable working there. The culture was very sad and not a great vacation vibe. Training in customer service is definitely suggested. We decided to book this property on the Hyatt name. What a mistake. Hyatt purchased this aging property at the beginning of 2025 but just haven't put any money into renovating it. Ceiling unstable, sheetrock coming off the walls, flooding in breeze way area making a major slip hazard. We made the best of our situation and enjoyed our time with family, but I would never go back to this property and am extremely disappointed in the experience we had.

Beach is amazing but service not so much
Depends on what your priorities are... if you love the beach, this place is amazing. The rooms are mediocre and service was sadly terrible. Some staff were lovely, most were not. Remember, you are on island time and no one will be in a big hurry. Food was decent, buffet was better than expected. If you want spoiled and amazing luxury amenities, this isn't the place for you. If you want to prioritize time on the beach and exploring the island, then heck yes! The island itself was amazing. Make friends with a taxi driver and hire them for a day to tour the island. My kids, (11 and 7) spent hours and hours on the beach, swimming and snorkeling. The beach was never overly crowded and the snorkeling was incredible! Mambo beach is a quick 8 min walk and wonderful shopping and food. Sea Side Terrace, located directly to the west of Sunscape had great food!

Sunscape Curacao? - No! Island of Curacao? - YES!
In our guest room, lighting was poor. There was no lighting in the shower. There were no receptacles in the bathroom, although a hair dryer was in the bathroom. The bathroom mirror was inoperable and cracked along the edges. There were cracks in the walls. Our closet sliding door was missing. Not all light switches worked. TV picture quality was poor. Channel options were very limited. Room Service did not answer their phone. The Sun Club staff start their day at 8:00 am, although they can technically order the guest's breakfast for room service, as early as 7:00 am. There were staff members with unacceptable attitudes, including telling guests to "Wait!", when we asked a question. Resort staff needs hospitality training, and an increase in standards. The grounds had hazards, including pool flooring, and pool area crumbling knee walls. The food, drink and dishes were continually running out. The tea variety was very limited or missing. Resort rules, hours, expectations and Code of Conduct were not clearly explained. Continually referring to the app/QR code was inadequate. No one escorted us to our room, which was disconcerting. The land side bartender required that a guest get in the pool to order a drink that only the pool side bartender made, rather than just turning around and asking him to make it. Our Oceana restaurant male server was extremely rude and dismissive. Buffet food nor coffee were hot. Food labels were missing, which made attention to allergies difficult to manage. Mocktails were not mentioned. The Oceana server served our meals separately without explanation. The meals took a long time to arrive. His service was wholly unacceptable. The food was tasty, but his service made the meal undesirable. The restaurant hours did not match the hours that were explained to us, and no one could explain why the restaurant was closed. At Bluewater Grill, food options were limited, particularly for guests with food allergies. Food nor coffee were hot. It took a long time to get served. The food was not very tasty. There did not seem to be enough staff to cook or serve. At World Cafe, food labels were missing. There was no clear attention to food allergies. Food nor coffee were hot. Service was efficient. The food was not very tasty. One server, Carmen, was superior. The handicap accessible entrance was locked with no staff monitoring the access. Tea options were limited, or nonexistent. Spoons were missing when tea or coffee was served. The coffee machines were sometimes broken. World Cafe ran out of plates, cups and glasses regularly. I did not feel special as a World of Hyatt member. We needed to be escorted to our room, because we had difficulty finding it on our own, even with the directions we were given. The Sun Club staff did not anticipate our needs, although they did answer questions that we asked. The Bell person was hard to find, and generally not helpful. There needs to be paper reference material, rather than just the QR code or app. Room service was totally unacceptable and unresponsive. The person who did finally make deliveries was delightfully responsive. The spa experience was a highlight of our stay. Staff asked a lot of questions and were responsive to our needs. They gave us detailed information about access, treatment options and the facility. The ambience was soothing and appealing. The water in the men's shower was cold. The locker interiors were wooden, and had splinters. The robes and slippers were wonderful. The prices of the specials were affordable. The massage technicians were the BEST. Before reserving a room, we were not fully clear of the Sun Club "value", so it is hard to say how exclusive it would be. After our stay, it is still hard to say. At one point, the Sun Club staff gave me a made up story that my room service was next to be delivered. She said this for over two hours. Later that night, I saw what I think was my order on the hallway floor at the opposite end of the building. However, no one could explain why I did not get served that day. Room Service did not answer the telephone the entirety of my stay. Nonetheless, the island of Curacao was fascinating and fun. There is lots to do, and lots to see. If we return, we expect to definitely stay somewhere other than Sunscape Curacao.
