My Snorkelling paradise
This is our third vacation to Sunscape in Curaçao. Personally, my husband and I love it there! If you enjoy some hot weather, stunning natural beaches, mind blowing snorkelling, hospitable kind people and fresh food this the place for you. It’s one of the oldest resorts on the island. So you can experience beautiful sunsets on the beach. And one of the largest beaches in the area. And you can expect, older furniture and possible inconveniences like, lights that don’t work, the odd plumbing or a/c issues. So go to the front desk and report it. They WILL address it. Now, let me spill the tea 🫖. You want to have a wonderful vacation? Smile, say hello, please and thank you. These islanders are kind, beautiful people. Enjoy a real conversation with them and learn about their culture. Embrace the peaceful atmosphere. Snorkel anyone? Right off the beach!!! Yes, bring your snorkel and mask or rent them. Your choice! You won’t be disappointed! See different species at different times of day. There’s no such thing as a bad time to snorkel here. The beach is beautiful, and I do recommend water shoes as there is coral in the water. Watch the sunset from the beach, your room (ocean view), the restaurants or the pool area; there are many options! Restaurants There are five restaurants. Only the Italian and the Japanese style ones require reservations. The others are first come first serve. They can accommodate different group sizes as long as you are willing to wait until a table is available. Some restaurants are closed in a rotation of sorts. So be flexible, you won’t starve. There is always another option available. Everyone is warm and friendly. Whether they are servers, hostesses, bussing tables. Some speak Spanish, Dutch or English. If they don’t speak your language, they will find someone who does, so be patient… you’re on vacation after all. Activities I’m not one for activities but I observed that every day there was lots going on in the pool areas. Evening entertainment was great! I seldom actively seek evening entertainment. But when I was out I was impressed! Talented musicians (trumpet, piano), a Caribbean parade with costumes and marching band. Maybe someone else can cover this one. Some of OUR favourite people… - Cornelia and Noecha are awesome bartenders teaching me Papiamento. Zankee Duchis. These girls rock the place! Cornelia never forgets your favourite drinks. Noecha is the life of the party and so she’s outrageously funny! - Ana has a smile that brightens up any day. - Verona at Oceanna Restaurant . Very kind, friendly and excellent server. she was our first server and she remembered us every time we went to eat at the Oceanna. - Nathalie server at Blue Water Grill. Excellent service, wonderfully warm and always happy. VERY capable making it all look easy. - Sylvia is our favourite server. (Ok, it’s really hard to pick a favourite because they were all wonderful). But we instantly loved her Huge heart ❤️ and a beautiful smile. - Peter, the newest member of the restaurant management team. Very experienced in hospitality and has big plans for this wonderful resort. I look forward to seeing the fruits of his labour. Super nice guy. - Joana at spa gave me an excellent Swedish massage. I have very specific health challenges and she navigated them with respect and ease. - Afrianna in entertainment is so wonderful. She gave us directions to Playa Piscado to swim with the turtles 🐢 by bus, taxi. And so many other places to suit our budget. - Ingrid regularly tidied up our room and replenished our toiletries as needed. - Amanda is the hotel concierge. She is always available and walking the grounds. If you need any services or assistance, she’s a gem to deal with. - Xiandreau made sure we had a well stocked fridge. He noticed I love my water and I never ran out. - Vaneisa F&B Asst Manager awesome . I just couldn’t help but see her resemblance to #Tiffany Haddish. Wouldn’t that be a cool reality show to see #Tiffany Haddish working different jobs and pranking guests?! Just saying! And yes, I’d want credit for my idea. 😉 You’re welcome Tiffany❣️ - The grounds are always cared for by hard working kind people. Even the iguanas appreciate it 😝. - Thepublic bathrooms are well cared for on a regular basis. If something is not quite right, just report it they will address it in good time. Experiences … We saw many families travelling together. Grandparents, parents and kids. The children are well behaved and happy! The parents are enjoying their time with their families. Kids building sand castles, playing in the kiddy pools and sea (accompanied by a family member). Little ones making friends with other kids. Chatting with other welcoming guests (under the watchful eyes of their parents). I did see a building specifically for kids but I noticed that most families were very happy to enjoy their vacation time together. How refreshing! Journey from room service was going about his business when he saw a young mother with her hands full going back to her room with coffee. She has a 13 month old who didn’t want to walk on her own. He stopped, took the coffees from the mom to allow her to pick up the child up and walked her back to the room. Still smiling, he returned to his task. How kind and loving We Had water dripping from the ceiling in our bathroom, I reported to front desk and they fixed it promptly and properly. One of the public bathrooms had a light that needed replacing and they sent someone immediately. They even took the time to tell me as I checked out an hour later to tell me it was addressed. We walked over to the Curaçao Aquarium and Rehab Center for flamingos and sea turtles. It was a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. We watched as others enjoyed different experiences with the amazing dolphins. Beautiful people all around. Thank you Sunscape for another memorable vacation!

Live in the moment, have fun!
A smaller well run resort! Great young people running interactive activities, buffet was delicious, plenty of variety, fresh food daily, chefs are skilled.

Don´t go!
Although the website presents this as a 4-star hotel, it’s really closer to a 3-star property. The hotel feels old, poorly maintained, and completely outdated in both design and service compared to the competition. It honestly doesn’t feel like part of the Hyatt brand at all. We stayed at the Sun Club as a family (2 adults and 2 kids under 5). Reception: Very disappointing. There were four people at the desk and still zero solutions to any issues. Facilities: The buildings only have three floors and no elevators, which is very inconvenient with kids and luggage. The Wi-Fi barely works in the Sun Club rooms — Netflix wouldn’t load on our laptops. The TVs are not smart TVs, just cable. We asked for a smart TV to use Netflix/Disney+, and they brought one, but it never worked because the Wi-Fi was so poor. Room: The photos on the website are misleading. The furniture is old and worn out. The bathroom is outdated and lacks any design. The windows don’t even lock properly. Kids Club: The space itself is beautiful and Mery is wonderful — truly lovely with the kids. However, it was always empty. Their system doesn’t allow parents to stay with their children, so families leave and kids don’t want to stay alone. I rarely saw any children actually using it. Food: Very disappointing for an all-inclusive at this price point. The buffet had little variety. The restaurants were basic, with limited menus and items frequently unavailable. The staff at Blue Water Grill were very kind, but the facilities feel like an old beach shack, not a $600-per-night resort. Bars/Service: At both the Sun Club and main pool bars, if you don’t clearly show you’re tipping, they barely acknowledge you. Service was poor and inconsistent. Beach: The water is beautiful — warm, clear, and calm — but the beach itself is rocky and you need water shoes to get in. Entertainment: Also very basic and not at the level you’d expect for the price, especially compared to other Caribbean all-inclusives. Overall, I strongly recommend reading the TripAdvisor reviews and choosing another hotel. This property simply doesn’t match the price or the Hyatt standards.

Sunscape
The resort was a bit dated. Buffet Food was average at best. Although the restaurants were better. Service was slow at the bars, but staff was very friendly. We were in the sun club, and didn’t think it was worth the extra money we paid. Our fridge wasn’t stocked daily like it was promised, and we were questioned daily when we called to get restocked whether we were in the sun club. The beaches were beautiful and over all we did have a very fun time.

Resort with horrible customer service and infrastructure in serious decline.
We are World of Hyatt and Unlimited Vacation Club members and have been to many of their resorts. Sunscape Curacao was a terrible resort to visit. The customer service was awful. The staff was rude and most of the time annoyed at having to do their jobs. There was a leak above our shower and they never addressed it. We have to shower, while dirty water from the ceiling leaked on us. Their were very few options and the food quality was terrible. We tried to order room service and it just rang and rang. Another family staying there had no hot water for the entire week.
