  Sunscape coco poolside bars

  Nicolas was an amazing bartender at sharky’s pool bar! Super friendly and he’ll call you over when your drink is empty if you want more. He made the trip worthwhile even on the rainy days!

  $80 ‘Missing’ From Locked Safe

  Even if this hotel was amazing, which it is not, the one overriding factor from our 10 days here over Christmas was that we had $80usd go missing from our locked safe, which seems to be a regular occurrence if you read the reviews. We had booked to go to one of the a la carte restaurants at 19:00 on the 27th of December. When we returned to our room at about 22:30 we could not get into our safe. I spoke to reception who sent security up to our room. The security officer had a photo of the interior of our safe taken at 19:40. He said that housekeeping had found the safe open when they went into our room, conveniently just after 19:00. He was then called to close the safe and reset the code. I do not leave safes open! I had $600 counted out and banded up as the following day we had an excursion booked which cost $600. I had booked the excursion days previous and had counted out that money probably 6 times; all in $20 notes. I had also counted the money again that very morning so I 100% know that $600 was there in a rubber band. When the security guard opened the safe, I counted the money and there was only $520 there! Only I knew the code to the safe. What happened next was even more disappointing than the money going missing. I reported the missing money and had to fill out an incident form, then Sael the general manager came to see me. He explained that there was a process to go through when reporting missing money which I fully understand. It was gone 23:00 at this point but he, security and I had to go to my room to start the ‘process’, which turned out to be an absolute farce. They wanted to know exactly how much I had in the safe, exactly what money I had spent which was no problem, then they started playing word games saying that my story confused them and that I was withholding information. So, they were basically accusing me of fabricating the missing money story. The manager even accused me of lying about changing money in their casino, which has CCTV in it! It quickly became apparent that the ‘process’ was going nowhere. Everything I said was met with the response ‘but how can you be sure’. It was infuriating and obviously a complete cover up. At 23:45 they said that the next part of the process was to go through all of our belongings to see if they could find the money. My partner was in bed, and we had to get up at 06:00 the next day to go on an excursion, so it was at this point I told them to get out of our room. The response, well we have a process to go through and if you don’t want to go through the process then there is nothing we can do about the missing money. My partner recorded the whole conversation on her phone which I will happily pass on. There was a cctv camera directly outside of our room, but they would not look to see who had entered the room while we were at dinner unless I let them go through our belongings first. We spoke to another couple who’s safe was also opened by security, however they were not sure how much money they had in it to start with, as I guess is quite often the case. This whole scenario seems like a regular occurrence of you read reviews across multiple platforms. On another note, three occasions we were offered cocaine by security staff in the evenings. We were on a family holiday with children. That was the actual hotel security staff! This holiday cost a lot of money. In total there were 9 of us in our group, and to say that we were all extremely disappointed would be a gross understatement, especially as it was our first Christmas away from home. The hotel does have some redeeming qualities, however not many and regardless of that, nothing can make up for the loss of money and subsequent cover up.

  I don't recommended going to this resort. While the food was good and the resort looked great. The service was terrible. At all stations bars and restaurants had only 1 person serving the people standing in line. Line ups were minimum of 20 to 30 people at a time, you could physically wait 10 to 15 minutes to be served. The rooms need to be refurbished. Showers flood all the time. Out door bathrooms, rarely had toilet paper, or paper towels. Floors always dirty. This resort barely Rates 1 star.
