- The rooms - boho chic with either ocean, pool or garden views from your own Private Idaho private balcony.
- The oh-so British afternoon tea. You'll feel so freakin' royal.
- Karma Spa that offers ice baths for detoxing and purification.
- Creche/nursery for your babies and Teen club for your zesty adolescents.
Things to Know
- It's only 15 short minutes from the airport and located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Woo hoo!
- The capital, Bridgetown, is just 10 minutes away.
- If you want to get hitched, you can get the Sugar & Spice Wedding Package. It's dreamy.
- The Mount Gay Rum Factory is near. Gotta get a taste of this.

Great resort
Beautiful resort with great amenities. We got engaged here and the staff went above and beyond to assist with the surprise. All the wait staff and beach crew were friendly and attentive.

Great Time at Sugar Bay !
Arrival – The only negative about this resort, unfortunately, happened within minutes of our arrival. Check in was a bit slow, but fine. After speaking with someone at the desk, we were asked to step aside and told they would have someone come and take us to our room. We waited, and waited, and watched 3 other groups get taken to their rooms… Finally, my husband went to the desk and asked them what direction to go so that we could go to our room ourselves. They didn’t like it but that’s exactly what we did. We were quite capable of getting to our room, dropping our bags, figuring out the safe etc. Room - The room was clean and the bed comfortable, plenty of space for our things in all the cubbies and drawers. We were in room 210, ocean view, although we had a lot of trees in front of our deck, but that helped with privacy, and we don’t sit on our deck a lot anyways. There were racks on the deck to hang out our wet bathing suis and towels. One issue which some might not like, is that the wall between the bedroom and bathroom was glass; it was frosted about halfway up, but you could literally see people in the bathroom. For my husband and I that didn’t bother us but for friends sharing a room or if you like your privacy that would be unacceptable. Beach – We spent most of or time on the beach and Sugar Bay didn’t disappoint. The beach had white sand, it was clean, the beach towels could be exchanged every day for fresh ones, and the beach chairs were clean. The hard-working beach crew set up beach umbrellas upon request, towels, water toys, etc. Staff went along the beach, when required, to pick up the little seaweed that washed ashore. There were bar servers going around asking if you wanted more drinks. The break wall made the ocean in front of the resort calm and along the wall there were hundreds of fish, which was great for snorkeling. There were all kinds of water toys to borrow and even round float rings in the ocean to relax in. Colins has a great “mocktail” list that I spent my days going through. The Kid Sugar was my favourite! We did bring our own water bottles to keep our drinks cool, and reduce plastic. Just a note, they may ask you if you want your drink blended or poured – which means turned into an icy (blended with ice) drink or just poured over ice. The water was beautiful most of the time, but like most islands in the Caribbean they have had issues with sargassm. The mornings were great but later in the day the water became rougher and cloudy. My husband likes to snorkel, and he was able to do that right on the beach each day. Food – Having been to many all-inclusive resorts, we know it can be hit and miss. Sugar Bay was definitely a big HIT! The buffet was amazing, Colins on the beach was very tasty, with quick service and awesome staff! The special restaurants were top notch. Breakfast at the buffet always had bacon, sausage, eggs, croissants, omelets, pancakes, smoked salmon, fruit and more! Lunch and dinner always had so many choices – a vegetable dish, a fish dish, a chicken dish, and usually another meat dish, a potato option, a pasta option, along with salads/fruit etc. There were always desserts (make sure to have anything with chocolate in it, sooooo yummy) The staff at the buffet were attentive and always asking if we needed anything. They don’t tell you but there is a menu available at the buffet if you don’t find anything you like. I know I saw people getting chicken fingers and fries for example. Colins on the beach always has a fish dish, a chicken dish, burgers/hotdogs, and fries, too. The service there was very fast and our server “Kay” was incredible. You need to make reservations for Umi and Sizzle at the front desk, or the concierge desk (although in the 8 days we never saw anyone ever at the concierge desk). Umi, the Asian restaurant was very, very good. I had spring rolls and beef teriyaki, and my husband had sushi and General Tso chicken. All of it was incredible. Sizzle is a bit of a walk up the hill, near the entrance to the resort at street level. My husband said the steak he had was the best he has had in some time. Mine was just good. You pick your side separately and so we had truffle fries and sweet potato fries, but both good but could have been hotter. We found it odd that there were no vegetables served with the meal at all. Overall, Sugar Bay gets a 10 out of 10 on food! Other - The Gym was well equipped. Even saw the restaurant manager there. My husband took morning 45 to 90-minute walks to Carlise beach to the right and to Accra beach to the left of the hotel. We aren’t big on watching entertainment, so I don’t have much to say about that. We tend to turn in early after long days on the beach. And anyway, as Canadians we had Stanley Cup playoffs to watch! The TV in the room gets ESPN so we were able to watch! Overall we had a lovely vacation and would definitely go back !

Lovely place
The hotel - is small and boutique , set on the beach . Multiple apartments The location - small but lovely , right on the beach , 25 mins from the airport by taxi . Island is small so everywhere is close by The food - insane ! Small buffet was unbelievable , scallop curry amazing . The Asian restaurant less so in my opinion but it was all yummy The drinks - cocktails and fruit juices were also amazing !! Margaritas , missipi mud slides and kids stuff was yum and made fresh The pool - small and the bottom is rough , take shoes / socks as my kids soles took a hit . The rooms are lovely , clean , spacious Wildlife - monkey on the balcony , sea turtles in the bay Beach - is good although seaweed everywhere and when bad lots of skies too , snorkels and kayaks to borrow Really lovely place

Cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel! Have never had such delicious food at an All Inclusive before, including the special nights in Sizzle and Umi, the choice and quality was superb!! Rooms beautifully cleaned, everything sparkling clean day and night, lots of choice and sunbeds wherever you chose to sit. Staff were amazing:) Always smiling, helpful, friendly, special shout out to Justin and the smashing young chap name beginning with A that made sure our cocktails were always on the go at the beach!! Just beautiful, will be back. Mr and Mrs Suzanne and Tony Andrews.

Paradise
You are pampered from the minute you arrive. Porters collect your luggage and get you a rum punch while you check in. They take you and your luggage to your room. Resort itself is amazing. Staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Food is delicious and always plenty to choose from. Never used the pool and swim up bar because the beach is so beautiful. White sand and crystal clear water. Sugar bay ensures your every wish is catered for, and I can't wait to return.
