What We Love

  • A great spot for the whole family.
  • You've got activities at the resort, a beachy spot along the shores and three pools for lounging.

Things to Know

  • There is so much to explore in and around the island of St Kitts - local culture, food and sites. Plus, Nevis is a short boat ride away.

Located on a four-mile stretch of beach, this resort features a 35,000 sq. ft. casino. Its slots and classic tabletop games are a major draw at the resort. The casino has a free Player's Club, so you can earn points and cash them in at the casino, restaurants, spa or towards your hotel accommodations!

Cabanas dot the picturesque beach where you can bask in the sun or shade. You'll love the three pools, two for quiet relaxation and an enormous one for underwater handstands with the kids. After a romp in the water, relax in lounge chairs, with shady overhangs for as much or as little sun as you want, and order a Mai Tai from the swim-up bar. Hungry? From fresh catches at Blue Seafood to morning espresso at Cafe Calypso, there's plenty of delicious fare. You won't want to miss dinner at La Cucina, where the Italian fare is so authentic, you'll think you're in Milan!

Enjoy the scenic, 18-hole golf course designed by Thomas McBroom, or spend some time at the full-service spa. If you want to explore island culture, head to nearby Brimstone Hill Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or take a day trip to Nevis to the lush Botanical Gardens.

After busy days seeing the sights and having fun, you'll love coming back to relax in your room, complete with air conditioning, a mini fridge, television and more.

Average resort for the average traveler

We stayed at this hotel for a family vacation. The reception staff was wonderful. The property as a whole needs refurbishing, but the individual rooms were clean and comfortable. The outdoor beach and bar staff were very good. The food and drinks at the beach and poolside bar were the best food and value. Trash was often overflowing from the trashcans, and litter was prevalent on this property. Several buildings could have greatly benefitted from some extra paint. The "Fire" steak restaurant was the worst restaurant experience that I have ever had. The food was awful and overpriced. The service was poor (the waiter did the best that he could-he was overwhelmed), and the restaurant manager was deplorable (sour attitude, unprofessional). While I would NOT return to this hotel, I will give it an average rating ONLY based on the location, value, and the general goodwill extended by the majority of the staff. Hiwever, as a Marriott Bonvoy member, I am very disappointed and will be contacting corporate offices and registering my displeasure and offering specific recommendations for upgrading this hotel.

    INCREDIBLE VACATION

First stay at the St Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino. This is the first vacation club resort we have encountered with a casino and also one that had a hotel portion that was separate from the vacation club villas. The division of hotel vs vacation club is noteworthy when it comes to the activities schedule. We discovered most events were run by "hotel staff". Only events held at the vacation club activity office were the "vacation club" staff. Other resorts we have visited had a better activity schedule, however the "hotel staff" at this location was very nice and tried to run the best events possible. I do think some changes could be made though--for example there are no adult events (18+) at this resort. That would be a nice additon. Regarding the staff, overall everyone we encountered was pleasant, patient and customer oriented. A shout out to Melisha at the vacation club check in and Candice who cleaned our room! The vacation club rooms are very spacious and well maintained. We stayed in the Canada building...first floor, 2 bedroom with a garden view....which proved to be a great room since we could walk out our back door and right onto the main pool deck in just a few steps. Plus we were close to the lobby and fitness center. This resort has three pools. We only visited the one main pool--which was HUGE with a swim up bar. The beach area is located down a few steps from the pool deck and very spacious. However, the cabanas could use updating (rusted in areas) and there are these big concrete tables in the cabana which could be lower. Also, there was a lot of seaweed on the beach when we arrived. It took the staff a few days before it was cleaned. I would like to see this cleaned every day. This resort is located on the ocean side so the water is a bit more rough--but overall we were able to enjoy it. Also, the exterior of the resort could use updating--a new paint job, and the roofs don't match. The villas have the "red roof" and the hotel a "black roof". (I think they all should have the "red roof" for that island vibe.) If money was put into this hotel I think every vacation club owner would want to come here! It could be beautiful! There is also a lot of wasted space when you walk out the lobby to the pool area----so a redesign would help. Bonus staying at this resort is that there is a grocery store, Rams, right across the street with plenty of items for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks--and you can buy alcohol and save money rather than purchasing from Marriott. The Marriott is also close to restaurants--definitely go to Rock Lobster! And you can walk to "The Strip"--strip of beach bars. We ate a Boozies--very clean, food was good---but Rock Lobster was better. "The Strip" is on the Carribbean side---and you can rent beach chairs and hang out there for the day too. The only nighlife on the island (besides the casino) is at "The Strip"---beach bar, live music....I heard there are bonfires on certain nights too. Everyone we encountered on this island was great! And if you need transportation contact Tatem's Taxi's (he came recommended to us)! Tatem is AMAZING! I booked my airport transfer with him and all the transfers I needed for the week for certain excursions. Just email or call him. He always responds! He was polite, on time and so courteous! We felt like we had a private driver all week! Concerning excursions--we booked an ATV excursion thorough Marriott (Jungle ATVs)--Which was challenging, but overall a very cool experience! And on our own we booked excursions through Blue Water Safaris--a full day snorkel to Nevis--went to famous The Sunshine Bar to get that Killer Bee drink and a sunset cruise. They did a fabulous job! And if want to spurlge and have an INCREDIBLE dining experience you will never forget go to Orchid Bay Beach House. It is an EXPERIENCE! Expensive, but worth every penny (and I don't say that lightly). This was the best dinner we have ever had! The views, the drinks, the delicious meal, the actual restaurant.....all incredible! Overall I highly recommend this vacation! You won't be disappointed! What a great trip!

    Perfect, Relaxing Stay

My first visit to St. Kitts was awesome. The St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach provided the perfect location and amenities for a great stay. The hotel had everything one could need. There were a variety of restaurants, shops, spa, fitness center, a huge pool area, a well manicured beach, lovely staff and entertainment with the casino and lounge. My trip was very relaxing and laid back. The beds and pillows were super comfy. The resort was clean and well maintained. I felt safe and comfortable at the resort. The staff was so helpful and kind. I really have no negatives to report. My stay was so great, I can’t wait to return.

    Good Caribbean Experience

Rode through this resort during construction in 2005 and have wanted to stay here ever since. Huge buildings and lots of space in common areas and in the rooms themselves. Balconies are all of good size but be aware several can adjoin which is good if couples or families are traveling together. We got one of these rooms and moved to a second that did not connect and enjoyed more privacy. Cleaning staff is top notch and rooms are very well appointed. Ate at most of the restaurants and each serves very tasty morsels. Staff again is friendly but be advised that island time is alive and well when it comes to food speed. Dinners are handled much better than breakfast as the Calypso staff is overly protective of their breakfast bar. Only major issue had during a week’s stay was during check in where I was told that eight years of Titanium Elite status is only good enough for two persons to receive a Continental Breakfast. We have our child along and to add them would be $30 per day. For this Marriott is not providing any customer service and the staff failed to do the right thing. Only through more interaction with the Front Desk over the week were terms made more amicable as they do provide service where food is not related. Pool area is expansive and the swim up bar is excellently served by a welcoming crew. Beach is great but does have some seaweed depending on if being cleaned or not. Great on beach cabanas. The clear water is the reason for choosing this hotel as it is heavenly. Overall I would go back tomorrow as this is a great hotel.

Family Friendly Comfortable Resort - Great Stay

Great Hotel / Resort in Frigate Bay Area. We stayed here with our daughter for one week and had a great time. Hotel is well maintained and is very clean and comfortable, with views of mountains and Atlantic Ocean. Many dining options available at resort as well as nearby. Many amenities available. Overall staff are very friendly and accommodating (except the Calypso servers). Food at hotel is ok - Bar Food, Pool Restaurant and La Cocina Italian Restaurant are good and priced like you would expect (some items high some low). Calypso is the daily breakfast area and is a disappointment, which is why I am giving this a 4 star versus 5 stars. We had certificates for Marriott Member breakfast vouchers issued and it was PAINFUL to use them; the options that we were able to get without an upcharge was laughable. At the end of the trip, we referred to the servers as the Orange Juice Police. So, to all Marriott members when you get the breakfast voucher - beware. Beach area very nice - sand is groomed many times during the day as there is seaweed. Plenty of seating / cabannas available. NOTE you are on the Atlantic Ocean side so the water will not be as calm as the Caribbean side. Views of the mountains are beautiful. Pool area very large, very nice and a lot of fun. Swim up pool bar a nice touch and it stays packed. Bartenders were very friendly. Music playing all day with activities planned - especially late afternoon. Happy Hour drink specials run from 4 to 5pm! Music is loud - we did not mind it and if we wanted quiet, we went to the beach. It would not hurt for them to turn it down and not play top hits all day - some Caribbean music with steel drums at a nice volume would go a long way as not everyone wants to go to the beach or wants to hear unse unse unse all day long. Rooms - clean and spacious. Our room overlooked the pool area and we heard the music but it was not obnoxious. Overall, very nice. We could see the mountains and ocean from our room and loved the view. Spa - very nice. My daughter and I had a massage one morning. If you purchase a service you have unlimited access to the spa items -> sauna/cold plunge/hot tub. Prices are what you would expect. Car/Parking - we rented a car as we like to head out and explore on our own. We rented at the airport however they have a rental place at the hotel if you want to rent a car for one day. Taxi's are plentiful. Many outside restaurant options are available and are cheaper than the hotel. Also, there is a grocery store across the street. I would definitely stay here again!
