  Amazing Honeymoon

  We had the most amazing honeymoon at Serenity. We specifically loved the 24-hour room service, laundry service, beautiful grounds, activities available, and level of service provided by all employees. Special shout out to our butler Quade, who organized a special lunch for us knowing we wanted to try Oxtail while we were on the island. He also made sure to organize all of our activities and dinners. Another special shoutout to Delon and Ray, our favorite bartenders. The pool suites were private and luxurious and had everything we needed and more.

  Book the trip!

  We can’t say enough positive things about Serenity at Coconut Bay. Whether you book directly through them, or through AMEX or Costco, the process is very seamless and straightforward. Our trip package included round trip business/first class flights and an airport transfer, as well as the Grand Romance package, which includes pretty much everything you could imagine. The food and drinks were free flowing 24/7 at the help of your butler. The pool, both en suite and the main one on the property, are amazing. We enjoyed the pool and beach cabanas, with the beach being an easy 2 min golf cart ride away. It is on the Atlantic side, so the water is not crystal clear and there is Sargassum, but the grounds crew is consistently working to clear it with little disruption to your beach enjoyment. No ask is too big here, the chef even met us outside one night and insisted that any special request could be accommodated and that he would go into town to find what we needed/wanted. While we didn’t take him up on the offer, because we felt we had more than enough options, we know the offer was sincere. For those like me who get sick from either food or water every time you travel, that is of no concern. Almost 11 days in the island and everything is as fresh as you can imagine. They are very transparent about their food and produce procurement. Your itinerary is provided for you upon check in, and they are happy to make any changes if you want to do/more less. We added an additional massage and snorkel excursion with one phone call. The snorkel excursion does take you to the carribean side near sugar beach, so it is a great add if that is something you feel is important to you. I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that this trip would not have been even half of what it was without the staff at serenity. We had the well loved butler McCarthy who was just as phenomenal as you’d expect. We were so lucky to be taken care of by housekeeping staff Trisha and Vaniah, who left the cutest towel animals in our room twice a day. The list is long, but the care of people like Sabby, Charles, Ray, Kevin, Ginel, Hannah, Daniel, Deleon, Tyron, and Toya, made us feel like friends by the end of our stay and always took the effort to say hello whenever they saw us. We are so sad to be leaving, but will definitely be recommending Serenity and hopefully coming back ourselves one day. The reviews speak for themselves.

  Serenity (the resort) is All You Need!!

  Just returned from a fabulous week-long trip to Serenity. The resort exceeded our expectations in every aspect—dining, housekeeping, spa, salon, wedding planners. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary by renewing our wedding vows in the oceanfront gazebo. It was absolutely beautiful! The wedding coordinators’ sharp attention to detail and professional manner made it easy to plan the vow ceremony of our dreams. It was excellently executed. Big shoutouts to Sarai here in the US and Onita the on-property wedding planner. The photographer delivered the best photos of us that we have! And our butler, Nerissa, was the BEST!! She anticipated our needs before we communicated them and she planned a very special, unforgettable week of activities for us. She even planned a few surprises for us with assistance from PM Housekeeper, Shirley. The coconut guy was awesome and even made a special delivery to our suite on departure day. The entire culinary team was outstanding. They show passion for their work and prepare delicious dishes. The wait staff is very attentive, very hospitable and friendly. The resort vibe is all romance and serenity. My husband and I reconnected in unforgettable ways. We could not think of one aspect to critique; the Serenity team literally is the best at what they do and we know this because we have traveled to numerous other Caribbean islands and resorts in Mexico and no place else comes close to the level of service we received at Serenity. Shoutout to Dana who did my beautiful mani-pedi and in suite massage. You are wonderful. The woman who styled my hair and did my make up for my vow renewal did a beautiful job. I’m sorry I forget her name but she helped make my special day stress free and I appreciate that so much. We had an extraordinary week and we’re already talking about when we can return. I hope Nerissa is still there as a butler when we do return because she is the BEST!! We truly achieved peace & tranquility during our stay. Cheers to the Serenity team! You all should be very proud of your efforts to pamper guests. Hospitality is in your blood. We are so very grateful for each of you.

  Clean, Serene, a Honeymoon Dream

  Our last day at Serenity was yesterday, and we wanted to make sure to post a recent review. Honestly we had such a great time that it will be difficult to fully describe it here! :) We had the grand romance package on our trip and all of the components were planned perfectly by our butler Nerissa. It was just the right amount of activity and relaxation spread across our stay. We looked forward to her check-ins with us (which were also in just the right amount, never intrusive) and any time we saw her around the resort. She always kept us aware of our scheduled activities and any other special activities that were happening, and was available for anything we needed. Beyond this, Nerissa was the most wonderful person and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more kind and genuine to be helping us during our stay. In terms of cleanliness, our room was very clean on arrival (thanks to Gorvey and Simeon) and very well taken care of during the extent of our stay by Tracey. This is very important to me when traveling and all of my expectations were certainly met or exceeded in the level of care and quality of service that Tracey maintained. The food was amazing and the wait staff was excellent. There are other restaurants in the Coconut Bay side of the resort, but we never felt the need to venture over there. The food at the Greathouse is consistently delicious from the beginning to end of every meal. There are also special menu nights for special events, and we never felt tired of the food. We also enjoyed the room service option, which delivered delicious food to our door. We enjoyed getting to know our lovely waitress Nella who always took great care of us, as well Toya and Hannah. We also loved our pool cabana dinner which was served by McGregor who was kind, and very attentive even though we were outside of the restaurant itself. The bar staff was also very kind and attentive. We could always count on Ray to be checking in on everyone. They also made amazing drinks! Even when we didn’t know exactly what we wanted from the extensive cocktail menu, we could, for example, ask for a certain type of alcohol in the form of a frozen cocktail, and Kevin and Charles could whip up something delicious on the spot. And Johnathan, the coconut man, from our very first day made us feel welcome and taken care of. My afternoon “Johnathan special” cocktail was one of my favorite parts of our stay, as was seeing and talking to our friend Johnathan whenever we saw him around the resort. Something we didn’t fully realize before staying at Serenity was that there are plenty of activities during the day and at night just on the Serenity part of the resort. We had the opportunity to relax, but there were always happenings in the afternoon that we could take part in. We enjoyed Chef Nivea’s cooking demo and tacos by the pool, Chef Lucy’s sushi-making class was also so much fun, rum tasting with Kevin and Toya was one of our favorites, Toya’s tiki cocktail class, and definitely do not miss Kevin’s pool games and barbecue. At night there is an ambiance of romance or an element of excitement depending on the entertainment of the evening. Although the beach is a short walk/ride with your butler away, it didn’t really bother us. We throughly enjoyed our beach time on a couple of days, and when we weren’t at the beach, we were on one of the several excursions offered (the couples escapade tour with Cornelius and catamaran cruise were both amazing and probably our favorite excursions) or doing an activity by the pool, and we didn’t really feel like we were missing out by not being directly on the beach and not spending all of our time there. However, it would be easy to do if your preference is more time at the beach. With all of the things, activities, and services that make the resort so lovely, the staff elevate it to a level above. All of staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming even if we only saw them once in passing. Sadie, an operation manager at the resort, also walks around to make sure guests are enjoying their stay. Reading reviews before coming to the resort, and now writing one myself, I understand why guests can mention staff names in their reviews — because as a guest you really come to know everyone by name and they know you, and they care about your time there. However this also makes it difficult to say goodbye and go home :) And for us, it has made it clear that we need to visit again soon :) To anyone considering a stay here, you will definitely enjoy this resort, the activities/amenities/food/drinks, and its wonderful people who make you feel like family from the moment you arrive!
