Great spot.
You couldn’t find a better location. The level of cleanliness was 10/10. Food 7/10. Noise level at pool too high. Music too loud. Value was great. Rooms were dated but nice. Service as great. Atmosphere wonderful. I would go back.

Good but quiet and no disco (but is still advertised)
Food: Great! With lots of non-dairy options & they had bacon. The restaurants were fantastic as well. Disco: Permanently closed, no entertainment after 9pm. Which really upsets us because the disco was one of the main reasons we went. Even an outdoor disco is better than 0 disco. They had one guy singing to music at the nextdoor resort. Good singer but we had 0 desire to be there. Beach: Lots of rocks once you get into the water. Staff: Extremely friendly and helpful Gym: Excellent! A lot of equipment for a resort gym and a punching bag. But the weights on the machine are definitely lighter than labeled.

Disappointing ☹️
The resort is about 35 minutes from the airport (if your bus doesn't break down just leaving the airport). The resort is pretty and well laid out. You can see the ocean from the pools. The room that we were assigned was nice but as we realized later there's no water pressure and the electricity in the room was wonky. We couldn't take a proper shower and the room was too hot because the air conditioner wasn't working. We complained two days in a row and every time a technician was sent in they had their own theory why either of them wasn't working but no solution. We couldn't use the phone because it wasn't working so every time we had to go all way to the lobby to talk to someone. Finally the third day we had enough and my husband went and complained again. Our room was a sauna and there was no water at all. Malvin at the guest services came to our rescue finally, and he moved us to a different building and room. The air conditioner was working fine but water still had no pressure though just slightly better than the first room. And that day I got food poisoning. We went to the Japanese restaurant and I don't exactly know what was( maybe chicken wasn't cooked properly. I spit two pieces out , they seemed to be raw) and I spent the night in the bathroom with diarrhea that made me pass out. The vacation at this point was properly destroyed. The food was ok in the buffet ( beef not edible) but they had chicken, fish , pork and some times tuna steaks. They had honey everyday which was my salvation for the remainder of the vacation because my stomach didn't recover after the food poisoning ( I would have a piece of toast and honey to settle down my stomach). The steakhouse food was good, I wouldn't try the Italian restaurant.Drinks were good, stay away from wine, one step up from vinegar. I would like to give big thanks to Daniel at the pool bar. The hardest working guy and very pleasant. The entertainment team were all nice. They would go around and talk to everyone(hello Shorty). They worked hard to put their shows together. Maybe just some of the boys have to tone it down on their twerking. They seem to forget that this is a family resort, not an adult resort. The public washrooms were very clean and properly maintained. They had no shortage on beach towels, but towels in the room were always a problem. It seemed like they didn't have enough clean towels for every room and the two last days there were no towels at all. We usually left our " need to clean" towels on the floor and the rest of them hanging. For some reason they would grab everything to clean, even though they knew that they wouldn't be able to replace them. Our bed sheets weren't changed in the whole 10 days we stayed there, even though we asked our maid to. In all I wouldn't recommend going to this resort and we won't be going back.

Very enjoyable week
Just got back from a week at the Senator. Overall a great experience, we’d read the reviews so no real surprises. Chose based on the gym, beaches and teen club. Unfortunately the teen club doesn’t exist nor is there much for activities other than a volleyball. I have to say the entertainment staff absolutely made this trip for my kids. Huge shout out to Shampoo and Monkey especially. Ariel at the pool bar was also top notch. The gym was well equipped and clean, I appreciated this amenity most. I always found more than enough to eat, the fish was especially delicious. They have a sushi option at the Japanese restaurant that I highly recommend. The staff are all friendly and really try to make everyone happy. I was surprised how easy it was to find non alcoholic drinks and never had an issue accidentally being served booze. Loved the coffee and ice cream shops. All in all a fantastic holiday.
