  Roaches and rooms need remodling

  Roaches in our first and when we asked to bw moved, we walked in the second room and there was a roach again! No towels in the second room, called housekeeping and front desk, no answer. Powet went out on the resort- toilet wouldn't flush or no running water because of outage! The rooms need remodling! They really need an exterminator. I was so disgusted! I didn't sleep well at all! The first room had cookie crumbs and it was dusty when we wiped it apparently not cleaned! We work hard for out money and we were not pleased with this resort! Roaches!Roaches!Roaches! I would never recommend this resort!

  Easily One Of The Top Local Resorts.

  Clean premises, modern rooms and a variety of a la carte restaurants. This resort has one of the best buffet meals of any resort that we have previously been to. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Secrets Wild Orchid is easily one of the top 3 resorts on the island.

  Room is immaculate. Bed was very comfortable and linen was top notch. Staff was always attentive Entertainment was great. Food was scrumptious. Drinks were good and refreshing. Our every need was catered to perfection. This is a resort you do not want to pass up

  Back to Paradise Again

  Let me start with we have been here 9 times. The property is well cared for and clean. The mattress is still very comfortable and pillows not bad. We stayed in Wild Orchid 3rd fl left side close to elevators. decent view for sunsets. Some of the breakfast has changed but still good and abundant. Our dinners were pretty good but our experience at Himitsu was disappointing as our chef was loud and noisy but not fun at all. The nightly shows have been cut back a lot since the Hyatt has taken over. and the every day pool activities have been drastically cut back and the pools not as clean as before. Two nice things they added was motorized wheelchairs (must rent by week) and a nightly shuttle from dining area to lobby was good for 2 of us who are older and unable to walk long distances. All in all we have decided the only reason we would go back is for the people who I can't say enough about, especially Billy Love, Monique Harvey, Francine Campbell, Clive, Roberto, Akiel, and more. Also on Wednesday nights they have crafter's selling their wares. Look up Sandy, she sells jewelry and clothing and will give you good deal. Just remember these people need the money to survive so be king please.

  Lovely Views, Poor Service and Food

  I was really looking forward to celebrating my 30th birthday at Secrets Wild Orchid, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. While the views are stunning and the grounds well maintained, this resort does not deliver a true 5-star experience. The service and food were the biggest letdowns. From our first meal at El Patio, we waited over an hour for food and drinks. Our frozen margaritas arrived melted, and the shrimp ceviche looked questionable enough that we could barely eat it. Throughout the stay, food quality and consistency varied widely depending on the restaurant. The worst experience was at the French restaurant — after eating the escargot and snapper, my fiancé became severely ill with food poisoning. He spent the rest of the trip in bed, which completely derailed our vacation. When we informed the front desk we were checking out early due to the illness, the initial response was dismissive. Only after some insistence did a manager ask us to write an incident report. We've yet to receive any follow-up or acknowledgment. The beach itself was beautiful and well-kept, but lounge chairs with umbrellas were gone by 7 a.m. The drinks varied a lot depending on the bartender — frozen cocktails were usually pre-made slush with a splash of rum. We ended up sticking to wine, beer, or vodka sodas for consistency. The Piano Bar was the one standout, consistently offering well-made drinks and better service. Room cleanliness was also an issue — sand covered day after day that was never cleaned. This resort has potential, but poor food safety, inconsistent service, and a lack of accountability made this a disappointing experience. I would not return.
