    Beautiful wedding

We were at Secrets for a wedding-forget all the bad reviews-it’s beautiful-the staff is very friendly and helpful-everything in our room worked as it should(we were in building 1) it was only a short ride to the beach-which was breathtaking-for the wedding we had the beach club to ourselves overlooking the beach til 9 then private shuttles back to the resort-my only suggestion is to wear bug spray if you go to Blue Water Grill because you are part of the jungle but they have amazing food as do the other restaurants there. Overall we were quite impressed with Secrets Tulum❤️

Architecture+Food+Pools+Beach in a carefully curated package

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club for a long weekend, and I must say, it was nearly perfect! Despite the high occupancy, the resort felt surprisingly private, almost as if we had the whole place to ourselves—an impressive feat that made our stay even more special. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, setting the tone for a wonderful vacation. Our room was not only spacious but also tastefully furnished with modern decor. A standout feature was the tub on the balcony, which offered a luxurious private soak with a view—truly a unique and delightful experience. The inclusion of thoughtful amenities like mini bottles of SPF 50 sunscreen and bug spray in the room was a nice touch, showing the resort's attention to the small details that enhance guest comfort and convenience. Mini fridge was well stocked with combination of beer and soda. The architectural design of the hotel was also noteworthy. The circular buildings where all the rooms point towards the middle ensure that most rooms have a great view of the pool and lush greenery, enhancing the sense of tranquility and connection to nature. Exploring the resort was an adventure in itself, with so many pools scattered around the property. It was fun to discover each one, as they all have their own unique charm and setting. At first, navigating the resort can be confusing due to its layout, but after your first day, you should be fine. And although the property is not directly on the beachfront—this is where the beach club property shines—there are plenty of sandy areas around the pools to satisfy that beachside feeling. The short shuttle ride to the beach club allows guests to view the charming streets of Tulum, adorned with beach town shops and restaurants. It's also common to see many tourists enjoying the area on bicycles and rented scooters, adding to the lively local atmosphere. During our stay, the seaweed at the beach was not a problem as it seemed to have been raked prior, ensuring clean and inviting sandy shores which enhanced our beach experience. It's a unique experience these days to look back to shore from the beach and not see hotel and condo towers as far as the eye can see, preserving the natural beauty and skyline of the area. A definite highlight was the breakfast buffet at the Marketplace, which offered a vast array of choices, many with mexican themed but also many traditional. It was efficient and a better choice for a quick and satisfying start to the day. I particularly recommend the chilaquiles from the omelet station at the Marketplace restaurant—they were absolutely delicious and a perfect start to the morning. We also tried the Blue Water restaurant for breakfast once; however, the service was a bit slow, so we preferred the buffet for our morning meals. For dinner, we dined at two of the hotel's restaurants. The outdoor Blue Water restaurant was my favorite for its ambiance and cuisine, making it a memorable dining experience. We also enjoyed a meal at Olio, which provided a lovely atmosphere and excellent dishes. Also, be sure not to miss the mojitos from the lobby bar. They are expertly mixed and among the best I’ve had—refreshing after a sunny day at the beach. The Beach Club, though a short -free- shuttle ride away, was another major highlight. It offered stunning private beach access and the atmosphere was always lively with expertly crafted tunes by a DJ. My personal favorite was the sangria at the beach club—it was incredibly refreshing and well-crafted, perfect for enjoying by the seaside. Another new and exciting experience was the silent disco on Friday night. Guests wore headphones to listen to live guest DJs, creating a fun party atmosphere without disturbing those not partaking in the event. It was a fantastic way to enjoy the music and dance the night away in a more personal way. TIP: If you call the hotel you can arrange for private (paid) pickup and dropoff from either airport. Ask to be transferred to the concierge to arrange it. Overall, it was a memorable stay with family. The resort provided the perfect backdrop for our family to relax, bond, and create lasting memories together.

Beautiful new resort with mediocre food

If you are looking for a resort with high quality furnished, large rooms and beautiful surroundings, this is for you! If you are a foodie, steer away. There are only 3 a la carte dinner restaurants and 1 buffet and 1 snack place for lunch, and everything you will order is a "meh". The service by the pool and the beach club was hit or miss, but the a la carte restaurants were good. Only classic cocktails are available, no special drinks. The pools are okay, but no deep water at all so only for standing in. You need to take the shuttle to the beach club, which wasn't that much work, but the beach club isn't that large so it could get crowded. The seaweed was pretty bad when I was there so did not spend that much time in the ocean. In general the Tulum area ocean is less picturesque than Cancun. The water is not that clear. I was told the resort is still new so things are still improving.
