    Honest experience at Secrets Tulum

lovely hotel and staff but lots to work on. DO NOT get a room near the event center you will not sleep. The upsell when you arrive and leave is AWFUL...they just try and get you to sign up for more and more stuff. Hotel is clean and rooms and nice. Great bathrooms. Food is ok...but not great. The performers were awesome though.

    Top marks jungle experience

This was our first Secrets experience, our first in Mexico, and our first without beachfront property. We had a perfect week. Check-in was smooth, a glass of Prosecco greeted us. If you say no, thank you to the sales pitch you don’t hear anything further. We ate at all the restaurants and agree that the Bluewater had the best ambiance, food was good overall. Weak point was lunch buffet at the Market Cafe. The Coco Cafe was great each morning. Even room service was faster than they said it would be and it’s nice that the menu is different. The room was spacious and modern. We had a king swim out. The swim out was on the cooler side especially in the afternoon shade. Loved the totally separate dressing and storage area. Balcony furniture was not comfortable and should be improved. The swim outs were really well maintained - cleaned twice a day! Not sure why people complain about the temperatures of the pools. The zen pool is headed! The pool with the bar is cold for sure. The other two are idea temps. We are shade people and NEVER had an issue finding a space regardless of which pool we were at or time of day - has never been our experience anywhere else. We are diehard swim out people but if we go again, not sure we would bother! We could always find a spot we liked. Drinks were great - probably had the best margarita of my life at the lobby bar. Lobby bar seating and arrangement could be better. The seating mostly faces inward - why?! Shuttle to the Beach Club was easy. Packed first thing in the morning so be there early. The beach is beautiful - hit and miss with the seagrass but what can you do?! Service here was incredible, lots of spots to relax. The pool here is cooler as well but is nice to have! Go earlier for the best shaded spots as they are harder to find. Wi-fi was slower but really consistent everywhere we went. The staff were just incredible - just always happy to see you, to have a chat, seemed to enjoy working there and are frequently with one another. If you are a sun-up to sun-down beach baby, this resort is not for you. If you are a party-goer this is resort is not for you. But if you like variety of water experiences, food, activities, proximity to the city, quiet, and friendly service - give this unique resort a try.

    Great, loved everything!

We had a wonderful time and our looking forward to going back in the future. The rooms were very nice, we had a swim out, and the service we received was great. We had service twice a day so always had fresh towels and the mini bar was always restocked with what we asked for. The food and drinks at the bars and restaurants were always top notch. We especially enjoyed the Jasmine for both breakfast and dinner. Jolene, Siergo, and Enrique were so great with their service and attentiveness. We also loved the Grotto and ate most of our lunches there. Emilio and Albert were great waiters and made our dining experiences very enjoyable. Salvador was wonderful around the pool, he always had great suggestions for drinks and his service was fantastic. The resort was very clean and has a great atmosphere with all of trees, shrubs and flowers. You need to go to the foam parties, they are a blast. There are plenty of activities going on around the pools or on the deck if you choose to do them or nice relaxing areas if reading or just tanning is your thing.

Stop asking people if they want a timeshare

Came here for valentines weekend Pros: 1- delicious appetizers at jasmine and entrees at portofino. 2- welcomed us with a bottle of champagne 3- gave us a beach bag 4- cold room, good Ac. 5- they pick up and drop off luggage straight to our room. Cons: 1- when we first arrived, the representative offered us a brunch said if we went we would get three days two nights for free. The following day we went to the brunch and come to find out, there was a 90 minute presentation for a timeshare. I told the representative to take me back to my hotel. I wasn’t gonna be wasting 90 minutes of my vacation on a timeshare presentation that I knew I was not going to be interested in purchasing. I had already wasted 40 min of my day to and from the secondary hotel. 2- I ordered more toilet paper to our room and took 50 darn minutes to get it. 3- we also ordered room service and the food was mildly warm to cold. They do not have microwaves in the rooms so we just had to eat it cold. 4- we asked for our room to be cleaned while we were away when we got back to our room. It had not been cleaned yet. we left once again and finally once we were back, they had cleaned it. I feel like they took too long. 5- the food at blue water was not good at all 6- all pools close early at 6pm??? 7- the buffet hours are limited. breakfast and lunch end so early. They lack variety and what they did have wasn’t that great 8- The lighting was so bright at portofino 9- the beach club water pool was freezing cold. You would think they would have a warmer in there due to large amount of shade. 10- lost a plain white bag of souvenirs and asked the concierge lost and found if anyone turned it in and no once ever called me back I called and asked at 7am and at 5pm and they said they would call me back and never updated me. 11- AND AGAIN AT CHECKOUT THEY GAVE ME A MINI TIMESHARE PRESENTATION WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR MY TAXI. PEOPLE ARE OJ VACATION LEAVE THEM ALONE IF THEY WANT A TIMESHARE THEY WOULD ALREADY GOT ONE.

    Clean, comfortable & great service.

Resort was clean. Rooms are a great size and beds extremely comfortable. Staff are friendly and work very hard. Food was good, especially Jasmine. Would highly recommend Preferred club pool & restaurant for both quality of food and very good service - definitely made the upgrade worth it.
