    Outstanding Staff

    Just returned from 7 days at Secrets St. James, and I want to give a shout-out and a five-star rating to the amazing employees who made our trip so fun and entertaining! Gee Gee, part of the entertainment crew, always had a smile and a bubbling personality. Sashy, also part of the entertainment crew, worked hard to keep the daily activities organized and the guests happy, all while staying upbeat. Arlando, with his vibrant personality, always served drinks with a smile. Claudia, our pool towel and chair lady, ensured we were comfortable and happy every day. Carl, our waiter at El Patio, went above and beyond to satisfy our lively table of six and made my husband’s birthday celebration unforgettable. Shadea Jamieson, the concierge, ensured we were well taken care of. I contacted her before our trip regarding dietary issues, and she was accommodating and always willing to help. Thank you to everyone for making this an unforgettable vacation!

    So many fun activities and things to do

    Love this girls trip! It was great to have time off of work with friend and our entertainment staff Sashy was AMAZING! She helped me find daily activities and make friends which was perfect for this trip. I'm more outgoing than my friends so having a friendly face around the property was great.

    We keep returning for a reason.

    We really enjoy this resort, but what really keeps us coming back is the amazing scenery and the people/staff. There are so many people we look forward to seeing when we return that have seriously become our family. Specifically Kerry Ann, Ja'Maal, Everett, Cruze, Keshia, Natisha, Dowaine, Sashone, and Bryan to name a few. Actor Boy is such an asset to the entertainment team. His positive, upbeat, fun spirit is really great and makes you want to continue having fun. The atmosphere truly lets you embody relaxation and leaves you in awe with how beautiful it is. We have been coming since 2018, so the resort could use a few updates; even just something small like touching up the outside of the building with paint, but our rooms are always extremely nice, upkept, and the staff never slacks on providing towels, cleaning, stocking, and turn down service. One of the biggest things I love about this resort is that they LISTEN TO YOUR FEEDBACK! We came here in May and were asked about some suggestions, seeing we frequent the resort, and by the time we were back in November the suggestions we made were in full affect. Now THAT is true customer service. We will continue to come back!

    Lackluster and watered down drinks

    This poor hotel needs a little TLC. It looks battered and worn, just like the poor staff working. Make sure you bring lots of cash because the staff only pays attention to you if you give them a lot of money in tips. At night there is 1 bar open so it takes 1 hour to get a drink, and we did find a lot of our drinks were watered down. I got a martini one night and it literally tasted 50% water. I don't think I was even able to get a buzz while I was there because the alcohol was so bad and watered won. The food was OK, but it does take 1-2 hours to get your food at the restaurants. We also could never eat inside of any of the restaurants because it smelled so moldy and like alcohol.

    5 days without room being cleaned

    The staff as far as housekeeping goes is not helpful. we were there 5 days and the room was never cleaned. We called to front desk and house keeping 3 days in a row and no one ever came. We had to ask for fresh towels everyday. The rest of the staff as far as restaurants and pool and bars were fine
