  Awesome Place. Awesome Time

  Took my husband for his birthday. He needed some time to relax because he works a lot. But we did enjoy just sitting around doing nothing. Beautiful scenery! Gorgeous beach! Comfortable bed! (most important) Awesome and fun staff! Tasty food! (some could be better) Fun entertainment! Got to meet other people from other countries and U.S. cities. If you go to the Show Time Bar, make sure you have Maria Nelly as your waitress! She deserved every tip we gave her and then some! She would be one of the reasons I go back!!

  NEVER AGAIN

  So, I decided to take my Husband to DR for his birthday since this was a Caribbean island we had yet to visit. After this experience, I will never go back. The majority was bad, but I wouldn't say all of it. I am going to start with the cons and then speak about the pros. CONS The drivers are reckless. It was pouring rain, and our driver was driving with no windshield wipers on, not signaling and cutting other drivers. I definitely made a complaint on this. Returning, the driver was not signaling and on his phone. We stayed in a private swim out with butler. We saw our butler once. It was Ismael. He only helped with my Husband's birthday dinner. We did not use him much due his schedule. I do not understand these timeshares on hotels sites. It is extremely annoying when you just want to relax. It is the same with excursions. They get an attitude when you say no. With all due respect, most of the tourists speak English. Some of the staff cannot speak and/or understand English. This is a concern when you need answers to things. There was a lack of customer service in the retail stores. The women were more concerned with gossiping instead of encouraging sales. I already had certain bias that were definitely confirmed. Some of the staff were rude and/or did not acknowledge you at the resort. I have never experienced that from this chain before, but personally, I am not surprised. There were only three channels in English. Again, you have to cater to the people paying to stay at the resort. My Husband's room was decorated for his birthday. However, no one ever responded to many emails that I sent prior. The food was okay. However, I cannot describe it, but the desserts were disgusting and had terrible after taste. I am not sure if it was the water or what. Again, this was surprising coming from this chain. PROs The room was decorated for my Husband's birthday. Felix was one of the covering butlers since Ismael was not available. Felix was pleasant and showed us around the preferred club. Sammy was one of the bartenders at the preferred club lounge by the pool. He was very nice and made the drinks great. We only used Ismael once, but he made sure my Husband's birthday dinner was great. And it was. Darling, at the Blue Water Grill, was a great server. My Husband appreciated the birthday shout out. The waitress, Brenda, and hostess, Charina, were very friendly and lovely.at Olio. Thank you for singing a happy birthday to my husband. I did not get this gentleman's name who helped us at the Preferred Club Lounge in the main lobby but he also sang happy birthday with his team to my husband. In closing, this was not the best experience from this chain. I expected better as I have had with other locations.

  Manatees Bar was by far the best!!!

  We recently stayed (July 2025). We stayed in a swim up Jr. suite. Manny our concierge was great. He was able to get and take care of everything we asked of him. Virtually the entire staff seemed very nice and helpful and engaging when needed. My wife and I wanted to give a special shout out to the staff that works at the Manatees bar. Rander, Margarita, Carlos and Derlen were amazing. They were beyond friendly, looked like they actually truly enjoy their jobs and were very accommodating for us. We watched their interactions with others as well and you could tell they really are having fun while working their butts off. Kudos to Secrets for getting such a great staff! Thanks again to everyone especially Rander!

  Stay here, you won't be disappointed!

  First time staying at this resort and our experience was great. We did Preferred and enjoyed the amenities. Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing!!! Not to mention, entertainment was also fantastic 👏🏽

  Top Tier Experience

  Secrets Royal was absolutely beautiful. The staff was five star everyone there is so friendly and kind always smiling laughing. Our Butler his name was Alfredo. He was top-tier. he made our stay so much better. The activity staff was great. They make your stay so much fun so full of energy and smiles. They really get to know you and you get to know them. Just a shout out a few of them Jloh Carlito. The bar staff was also great Lawrence Windy. All the restaurants are good, but the buffet is the best a huge variety of food that also taste very, very good and the staff was amazing.. Kevin Felix Jose. we will definitely go back
