  Beautiful and fun resort for friends couples weekend

  Absolutely beautiful resort with great amenities. Relaxing tropical spa with talented masseuse. Food and drinks were plentiful and better than many all-inclusive resorts but not top quality. Preferred Club is a must. Private pool room (as long as not facing right into public pool areas or walkways) is a must. Service was amazing. Very cool that we could go between sister properties. Fitness center next door at Dreams was better. Food at Secrets was much better than Dreams.

  Celiac unsafe

  It was not safe for someone with celiac disease. They made lots of promises, but I ate MRE meals in my room most of the time.

  Phenomenal Experience!

  This trip was fantastic! The grounds were immaculate, our butler, Manuel was exceptional. the entertainment was top notch, the during the day activities were fun and plentiful. The variety of pools available were great ( I love that you have a quiet pool in addition to the normal ones). I want to send a special shout out to Chocolatte and Melaza for helping us celebrate our anniversary by helping my husband plan a surprise for me, bringing us onto the stage for a champagne toast. They also did fantastic job on the entertainment team during the daily pool activities, at the nightly shows, and the night club. We cannot say enough nice things about this resort.

  Good Value for Preferred

  We stayed for 7 days for our 10th anniversary. First time here, second time at a Secrets. We were overall happy we chose this location. The Good -Service was, with the exception of housekeeping, excellent. Our concierge, Aron, communicated constantly and was there in a second whenever we needed him. And you can't walk by an employee without getting a smile and a greeting. Danielle and Felix, and others at the bar areas, went above and beyond with the drinks. -You get access to a whole other resort. Dreams has some things (like water slides) that you don't have at Secrets. -With Preferred, the lazy river was the highlight. Plenty of cabanas, nice waterfall, not loud or crowded. I would not go back without doing Preferred. Worth every penny. -Breakfast buffet was great - lots of variety. -They keep the grounds up really well. They're always working on something else, which could be mildly annoying but it just means they're always improving, so I understand. Nothing is falling apart, worn, or old. -The little things: WiFi was strong, water pressure and hot water were great, coffee was always good, it smells nice everywhere, we never heard a sound from the neighbors or the hallway. -We did the Monkeyland excursion and would definitely recommend. Once in a lifetime experience and really fun. The Bad -Housekeeping would never refill the mini-bar, or weirdly, ever replace our hand soap bar. We literally had to ask our concierge because they wouldn't do it. He took care of us quickly but it shouldn't have come to that. -Entertainment: 6 nights out of 7 was music. The one acrobat show was great, but the others... let's mix it up! Magic? Stand up? Anything? All music. Not good. -The beach is not the main attraction. The sargassum is tough, but they are upfront about it. It's nature, oh well. But you can't even relax on the sand or in a chair because you will be HARASSED by vendors. It was non-stop, we had to leave. You can't relax. Clearly nothing Secrets can do about it, but it still is a bummer. They are relentless and rude. -The biggest disappointment was being directly lied to by a staff member. When we arrived, were given a potential $200 excursion gift card, which they ambiguously described, and we knew was only redeemable after you sit through a presentation on the Unlimited Vacation Club. No problem with that, they gave it to us at the beginning and that was it. Later in the week we were in line to sign up for an excursion when a staff member asked us if we had the coupon, and we explained we weren't interested. He insisted but we said we didn't want to do the presentation. He very clearly said "No, no presentation, you just get the gift card, come with me." I started to wonder if maybe I had originally misunderstood, and it was truly a freebie. No presentation? "No. No presentation." And just as we start to go with him, another guest walks by and says to my wife "He's lying, he did this to us the other day. There is a presentation." We decline and he made a rude comment to the woman (who we thanked). I get that they are trying to make a sale. I'm even ok with them being ambiguous upfront. But the staff member lied. English may not have been his first language, but this was not "lost in translation". He lied to a paying guest and I was severely disappointed in this. I hope this is one rogue employee and not the practice they teach there. -Aside from the breakfast buffet, the French restaurant, and desserts, the food left a little to be desired. It wasn't inedible by any means, and I get that it's an all inclusive, but my wife and I (admittedly foodies) were mildly disappointed). The verdict: Worth it! Price was reasonable, and the good outweighed the bad. But I definitely recommend getting Preferred, for the lazy river and pool access alone. Shoutouts: Our concierge, Aron, was exceptional. Danielle serving drinks must walk 50,000 steps a day, I never saw her not in motion. Felix behind the bar was friendly and remembered our orders. He also asked me to shout out his colleagues Obispo and Sebastian so you know he's a team player!

  Amazing Resort

  We had an absolute amazing time. The resort is absolutely beautiful. And our Butler Aron went above and beyond for us. There was six of us and he was there for us all. He was the best Butler we have ever had at any Resort we have been to.
