This resort had many great qualities but the best part of staying here was by far the customer service. Every staff member greets you as you walk by. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They never seem to be bothered by your requests or needs. The bar tenders throughout the resort were amazing and accommodating. The wait staff catered to your every need. Outside of the customer service, the following is my opinion on some of the resorts features: Drinks- secrets side had top notch drinks. All premium liquors and were not watered down. Unlike other resorts you are tipsy after 2 to 4 drinks. They'll make any request and they never hesitate to make you a double. Drinks - 9/10 Food- I've been to many resorts and unfortunately the food here is subpar in my opinion. Some people may like it but my wife and I found it a bit bland. Everything was OK and edible but nothing really stood out. We found the Asian and French restaurants to be a bit better than the other. The buffet was small and boring. The steakhouse had a halfway decent steak but was a poor quality cut (its a resort, what do you expect). Rosewater was good enough to get you by. Food - 6/10. Beach- Riviera Maya in the summer is notably not the best but I was pleasantly surprised. The Sargasm (seaweed) wasnt bad. The water on the breathless side was clear and pleasant. The beach was very clean and there were plenty of beach chairs. We found it very relaxing. However, if you want an amazing beach, take the ferry to Playa Norte on Isla Mujeres. Beach - 7/10 Shows and entertainment- As for nightly resort entertainment this is one of the best I've seen. The magic show and Neon Shows were amazing. Almost Vegas quality. The live music was above average. We didn't spend a lot of time at the pool but guests seemed to have a great time and was partying super hard. Secrets Side was more relaxing and a vibe while breathless was Cancun party atmosphere. Entertainment - 9/10. Rooms- rooms were clean and nice. Bed was comfortable but nothing spectacular. Shower in middle of the room is sexy and fun if you're traveling with you sig other. Room lightning was fun and romantic. Tub outside and facing ocean was a vibe. Stocked fridge and all of the toiletries were available. The do not disturb light was a nice touch. Room - 8/10 Resort- the resort was maintained well. Very clean and beautiful. However it was really, really small. Being small had its benefits as im recovering from surgery but it lacked the resort feel. It felt compact and a little cluttered. Most of the restaurants were outside and therefore it was super hot as there is no breeze. AC was hard to come by. I felt I didn't want to stay anywhere long because it was too hot. This may be what some people are looking for but it was not for me. Resort - 7/10. Overall- the customer service, drinks, and romantic vibe made this resort special. I would consider revisting this resort for those reasons. We are foodies so the lack of great food was a bit disappointing. The beach is not what you may hope for when you go to Cancun and the grounds were mid. Overall - 7.5/10.

Jul 13, 2025Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa – Preferred Club Level: A Relaxing and Entertaining Escape
Our recent stay at Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, check-in was a breeze—efficient and welcoming. Our room was beautifully decorated, with a stunning oceanfront view that set the tone for a serene getaway. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and we appreciated the ample storage space in both the room and the bathroom. The little touches made a big difference: full-size shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion provided a touch of luxury. The A/C worked perfectly, keeping the room cool and free of humidity—even in July, which was a pleasant surprise. Dining was a true highlight. Breakfast at the Spoon buffet featured a smoothie bar and made-to-order eggs, perfect to start the day. For lunch, the à la carte burgers from Rosewater were absolutely delicious. Dinner options were equally impressive—especially the flavorful escargot and rich French onion soup. At Croquet, the herb-roasted chicken with polenta was savory and memorable, and our waiter Alidino was friendly and attentive. Andreas at Rosewater also provided excellent service throughout our meals. One standout meal included pork shank, tandoori chicken, cold apple soup, and hummus at Rosewater—easily our favorite combination of the week. At Silk City, we loved the Red Sake cocktail, flavorful beef satay, and perfectly crisp tempura vegetables. The teriyaki chicken was beautifully seasoned and cooked just right, while the Kung Pao chicken had the perfect balance of crispiness, tenderness, and spice. Our waiters, Jeorge and Manuel, made the experience even more enjoyable. The entertainment has truly been elevated. Spicy Luis and Angel Brown Sugar kept the energy high, and the Human Elements show by Sole Elements dance company was a creative and engaging performance. The indoor Showstopper Theater, complete with comfy chairs and cupholders, made for a great evening venue. Secrets has really invested in top-tier entertainment—live musicians, dance crews, and even a magic show added a wonderful dynamic to the evenings. Service around the resort was top-notch. Ariel and Urbano at the pool kept us refreshed, Luis the master mixologist in the Preferred lounge kept us entertained and Pasquale at Spoon provided excellent service each morning. Pool attendants Daniel, Mario, and Adrian ensured our comfort by continually adjusting our umbrella to keep us shaded from the sun and refreshing our towels throughout the day. We also loved grabbing an iced coffee, gelato and soft pretzel at The Nook—such a nice afternoon treat. While the WiFi wasn’t quite as strong as we’ve experienced at other Secrets properties, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. One note: the resort does seem to cater more to Breathless guests, so there weren't some of the special touches like private dinners or butler reservations that we've had at other Secrets locations. Overall, Secrets Riviera Cancun exceeded our expectations with its incredible service, delicious food, and upgraded entertainment. We would absolutely recommend it and look forward to returning!

Great resort!! Love the proximity from airport! The people at the resort are wonderful! Feels almost like home interacting with them! Great service! They genuinely want you to enjoy your vacation. My husband can’t wait to go back!

Great Vacation
Our stay at Secrets was amazing. Every meal was excellent, all facilities were clean and the staff was accommodating. I particularly enjoyed water aerobics with "Spicy Luis". Our pool concierge Mar was great; always taking care of us which allowed us to truly enjoy the time at the pool. This is the second Secrets property I have stayed at and I have not been disappointed.

Great resort experience
We had a great and relaxing time, especially around the Secrets pool where our friendly and charming hosts Nedel, Cruz, and Mar took care of all our needs and were wonderful friends. Our favorite resort host was definitely Luis behind the bar at the preferred club. Great drinks, great conversation in both English and Spanish, and all around a fun guy to be around.
