May 11, 2025Exceeded my expectations!
We went to the Breathless resort (adults only side) for my bachelorette party and I highly recommend it! It was really great, especially for the price. I enjoyed the food and the variety of restaurants they have and the service was overall very good with few exceptions. Particularly wanted to shout out David at the main pool for impeccable service, we rented a private area and he was extremely attentive the entire two days we did it. The resort was so clean and well kept, rooms were nice and the beds were very comfortable. I also really appreciated the multitude of activities that they host throughout the day so we never got bored in the 4 days we stayed. They even got us into our rooms early when we arrived which was very much appreciated!

Great experience
Everything with our stay was over our expectation but I cannot say enough about the staff. Always friendly, always ready to help in anyway, it's the best level of service we have had in a long time. A special call out goes to Juan and Daniel at the pool who took care of our every need. I would highly recommend the resort.

May 10, 2025Not really a true Secrets Resort
Booked a birthday stay at Secrets Riviera Cancun using World of Hyatt points. I’m not sure if that made any difference in the service/benefits we received. Based on our previous stays at Secrets in Punta Cana and Cabo, we were really looking forward to a great getaway. I booked a Preferred Club Swimout room. When we arrived at the resort we realized that this isn’t the typical Secrets Resort. This was really no more than a wing of guest rooms at the Breathless Resort. I know that most Secrets are in tandem with a sister property, but this clearly felt like they just converted rooms to the Secrets brand and called it a day. All the bars and restaurants (save for 1) are in the Breathless complex. The buffet restaurant was pretty dismal, but the French and Asian restaurants were quite nice. Having booked a Preferred Club room, we were expecting to have a Butler to assist with our time at the resort. At check-in we were asked if we had WhatsApp for our butler to contact us. Never heard from them the entire stay. Our swimout room had a great location - but it was not in great shape - lots of dings and marks on the walls. The “faux river stone” floor in the shower was missing stones leaving empty spots on the floor, the walls in our part of the pool had a light coating of algae, and there was an opening on the side of the pool (maybe a filter entrance or light) was plugged with wadded up plastic that seemed to have been placed there on purpose. In room WiFi was spotty - sometimes lightening fast, other times it would drop for no reason. In terms of service, it was a mixed bag. Around the pool it was difficult to get the attention of the servers. Once you did, they were very friendly and accommodating. Mari at Rosewater was especially nice. As our room was just across the path from Rosewater, Mari check on us several times to see if we needed anything as we floated in the pool outside our room. Restaurant servers in the French and Asian restaurants (especially Manuel in the Asian restaurant) were all very friendly. In a nutshell, we did have a good time and had a relaxing visit. It just wasn’t the service and quality level I was expecting based on previous Secrets visits. Would I come back - not sure. It was a very reasonable points redemption, so if it was the same price point, I would. I certainly wouldn’t pay cash out of pocket to stay here - there are too many other options to consider in Riviera Maya.

Excellent experience all around.
Highly recommend this resort. Everything about it is wonderful and loop especially the staff. Namely Louis from Preferred Lounge, Mar the poolside server and Andreas of the entertainment staff. Those three were especially fantastic but all of the employees are so very accommodating.

Tropical Paradise
5/5 Kudos to Juan & Daniel, pool concierge. They take very good care of us & all the other guests. Beautiful, well kept grounds & pool area. Rose Water was our favorite restaurant. It’s right by the pool & serves excellent food. Karla is the most amazing hostess & always smiling. Our favorite food server was Yes. She is so hard working, but also happy & efficient. Perfect weather & refreshingly windy. My husband is using a walker since being struck with transvers melitus. The staff catered to him & gave me relief. Definitely coming back.
