  Wedding couple

  The sky bar is 10/10. AMAZING service! We came everyday of our trip and kept coming back because Super Mario made us 150 different shots all weekend. Maria and Sheyla provided us with poolside spa service and made us feel so comfortable. Geovanni was our butler and he delivered every time. We loved our stay!

  Let Down

  We were truly disappointed by our experience. We know the Hyatt Brand and we chose you guys to make our special occasion memorable and it truly was a let down. Both my wife and I were very disappointed with what we experienced. We spent 4 days at the Hyatt ZIVA PV before coming to you guys and you could learn something from them regarding service.

  It’s NOT adults-only

  This is not an adults only resort. You can hear and see kids everywhere. The tequila was so watered down it actually tasted like water. The food is mediocre at best. We were actually seated next to a child stretched out sleeping while we looked at a wine list with bottles averaging $250-$400. We were told our room was ready, but it clearly wasn’t The staff is helpful but there were a lot of empty drinks sitting around. The karaoke and live rock band in the central part of the hotel made it impossible to sit on the patio. The resort needs maintenance and a coat of paint. We will never return to any Secrets resort.

  Underwhelming. Staff was rude upon arrival and the food quality was questionable as multiple people in our party got sick.

  A nice modern resort. A foodie's paradise.

  We have always heard great things about Secrets Bahia Mita from friends and reviews and have been trying to get there for years, but every time we booked a trip we had to cancel for one reason or another. We wee finally able to get there this September and had very high expectations based on what we heard. We started our trip at Secrets Vallarta Bay which to our surprise greatly exceeded our expectations. It was an old-style architecture resort (which we love) with a nice layout and good food. We used an UBER to get from Vallarta Bay to Bahia Mita which we found to be very safe and economical. We arrived at Bahia Mita and were taken back a little. It was not like the classic Caribbean style resort that we were used to but a very modern style architecture that we were told was designed to resemble two cruise ships. We arrived and were greeted by our UVC rep Nathalia, who had been in constant communication with us before our arrival. She immediately took us to the check in area and also informed that our room had been upgraded, which was a pleasant surprise. Our concierge Tony, checked us in, gave us an overview of the resort, and immediately took us to our room. During the week, Tony and Nathalia were in constant communication, and taking care of all our needs, including all our spa and restaurant reservations. They both did an outstanding job. Our room was very nice, but very modern. It reminded me of a modern hotel room with very little character. The resort itself was very modern, big, cold in appearance and at times difficult to navigate. The pool layouts were a little odd, not very deep, the ocean was very pretty, but very rough and had a dangerous undertow, and although the resort was very nice it was not what we were used to. To be honest, we were very disappointed on the first day, wondering how we going to survive a week here. We took a step back and began to explore more, and everyday found more and more things we liked about the resort. By the end of our stay, we were planning our next trip to Bahia Mita. Things we liked: First and foremost, the food here is incredible. By far the best food were ever had at any resort. There was always a lot to chose from ant the quality was always great. The French restaurant required reservations, which is something new (we don’t necessary like it) but had a great ambiance, great service, an extensive menu and great quality food. Amauri our waiter always took great care of us and put a smile on out face. Although all the restaurants were great, the standouts were Portofino’s and Seaside Grill. Food was always top notch and the stakes were the best we have had. Pablo at seaside would always take good care of us and surprise us with different chefs’ creations for appetizers. Coco café was another standout. Great coffee and great pastries. So many levels above other Cocos. The staff was great and very helpful. Special shoutouts to pool concierges Diego and Maria for treating us so well. They always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we need. The Skybar/pool was the highlight of the trip. We didn’t find this until day three. Once we found it, we never left. The pool lounge area was up on the eight level and gave you spectacular views of the ocean. Miguel and Benito were two of the best servers we every had. The were very attentive, funny, entertaining and always brough us the best drinks. There were towels and chairs available everywhere and any time of the day. No towel/chair games. Things we didn’t like: There was no ala carte breakfast which we enjoy when we are away. The was limited entertainment, no live music at the pools or at the bar. The pools were not that deep and kind of oddly placed. They got very warm in the afternoon. The beach was not really swimmable, but that’s to be expected on the Pacific side. Our overall opinion is this is a great resort to visit. We will definitely be back.
