The resort does not live up the Secrets name.
The drinks were very good, and the specialty restaurants were very good. The beach area was nice for Cozumel, but you should have water shoes if swimming in the ocean. That's where the good ends. Poor service. They never showed up to clean our room for the last 3 days of our stay. The shuttle service was not available. The fridge or coffee station were never restocked even when requested. The snorkeling equipment, kayaks or catamarans were not available to us even though they are supposed to be included at no cost. So, if you like to snorkel, I'd suggest you bring your own equipment. The buffet was very limited, and the food was always cold. The shower was sometime warm if you were lucky but most of the time the water was cold. Our fridge wasn't cold. The teacher didn't show up for the Spanish lessons they were offering.

Nice relaxing getaway
This was our first time at a Secrets Resort and the staff was amazing. They went above and beyond in pretty much every way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The condition of the resort was way different than what was portrayed online. We learned that this was one of the older resorts that Hyatt purchased and they were in the middle of making updates. The room that we originally booked was a swim up ocean view, and we ended up moving rooms because it was so bad. If you do end up staying, I would ask questions about the condition of the room and where they’re at in the remodeling process. We also did not know it was connected to a family resort, and we had the ability to use accommodations at both which was great. That is a good selling point that I think should be highlighted in the online booking process. we loved Cozumel and overall had an amazing time. I think next time we would want to know more about the condition of the hotel before booking. I gave this a four rating because despite the condition of the hotel, the staff and the beauty of Cozumel easily made up for that.

Secrets Aura
I love Secrets. My husband and I have been going to Secrets since our honeymoon 19 years ago. The quality of the Aura resort and the food have definitely gone down. For the 10 days were there we had luke warm water in the shower and no water pressure -and we were in the newly renovated building/area. Not sure what was renovated! Only 2, maybe 3 of the restaurants would be open at a time. Windows was the best restaurant and then we went again to Windows and they messed up the Carpaccio. It's a shame. The staff were still very nice, and tried to accommodate....especially, Pablo the manager (thank you so much Pablo!), Francisco, Javier and Roger the Bartenders; Elizabeth, Arsenia and Rosana @ the Market Cafe. Maybe it's needs a overhaul. The Food & Beverage manager definitely needs to step it up. I don't think we'll be going back there.

Lovely trip
My partner and I had a lovely time at Secrets Aura in Cozumel! We spent 7 days, enjoying multiple dives with the Dive House (located on the resort, they were very accommodating!) This is definitely a more quaint Secrets resort. But we thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness. It was always easy to get a chair by the beach. The water was clear and calm. We had a swim up suite with a waterslide that went down to the main pool (very fun! But our waterslide was busted. A neighbouring waterslide still worked.) The staff was amazing (special shout out to Arbey for all the fun activities and great energy!) We found the drinks very good. But, the food options were limited. Not being “preferred” club meant that we couldn’t eat at the restaurants for breakfast or lunch. Only room service or the barefoot grill. The restaurants alternated which were open each night. We preferred Bordeaux, but even by day 7, we were getting a bit tired of the food. Not being preferred club also meant we couldn’t play tennis, which was a bit disappointing for us. But given the price, I still don’t think preferred club would be worth it. Overall, we would return! We had a wonderful time :)
