Waste of money
If you are looking forward to sub standard rooms, mediocre food, and indifferent staff this is your ideal vacation. I could not be more disappointed with a resort than I was at Secrets in Cozumel. Please don’t waste your time or money like I did. Pick another resort, you’ll be glad you did.

Great vacation spot but can use some work
I will start off by saying that in no way is this resort a 5-Star resort but it makes up for it with a great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and great entertainment. We booked this resort with tempered expectations as a group of 8 friends but really enjoyed ourselves. Negatives: Rooms was musty smelling and had mold in some areas A/C struggled to remove humidity and early mornings it would freeze you out. (guessing the room wasn't well insulated) Hot water in shower was hit or miss Pools were really cold but this was mostly due to the time of the year Not enough chairs for beach. For the most part we could find chairs but they were not in the preferred section that we were paying for. Most chairs were claimed by 7:30 each morning Beach towels were difficult to get on some days and weren't restocked through out the day. Food was decent but there were some options that were not good or rather cheaply made. Waiter service at some of the other restaurants (we had preferred status so we could use all resorts) was rough and we had to wait almost an hour at two of them for our food Positives: Cheap Comfy beds Preferred status gave access to the 3 other resorts in area (Dreams, Sunscape, and Secrets) Preferred lounge was an awesome place to hang out and they had really good little snacks (loved the wings) Beach was a little rocky getting into but absolutely amazing place to snorkel with a chance to see tons of marine life. Staff was amazing and super friendly We only caught one show but the Mayan show was stunning and wish we had spent more time seeing the other options Bartenders were great and made delicious drinks (shout out to Angel and Christian for taking care of us the 1st night). Jonathan in the preferred lounge was awesome. He was always checking with us to see if we needed anything Amstar rep Eric was super helpful and friendly The shining star of the resort was ARBEY. This dude was amazing and treated us really well. He made our vacation fun with his great personality and attention. The beach volleyball was a blast and despite the pool being cold we really enjoyed the pool volleyball as well. We caught the tail end of one of his shows (Welcome to America i believe) on what was supposed to be our last night and he made us feel great as he stopped his show to say hey to us. He made us really feel special. Dude definitely deserves a raise as he went above and beyond to ensure we had fun. Doña Chely: One of the best food places we had wasn't even at the resort but was just a quick walk out of the gate. This little stand was outstanding and I can't recommend it enough if you stay at this resort. Overall, the resort offers good value for money, especially for those opting for the Preferred status. While there are some issues with the rooms and food, the positive experiences with the staff, activities, and nearby dining options make it a worthwhile choice for budget-conscious travelers.

Great staff
We like Secrets, We have stayed 3 times. ARBEY the entertainment director is a hoot. He makes all the activities so much fun with his great energy. We are glad to see a lot of the rooms have been updated, and hope they get to the rest soon. We like all the food choices with the preferred level. While food is not great. It is better than other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. We also go to Cozumel to dive, and not for a culinary vacation. Resort is always clean, and the staff are what makes this place. They are all absolutely delightful. We would 100 percent stay here a 4th time.

Good bang for your buck
Definitely not a five star resort but you absolutely get what you pay for. My friends and I wanted to go on a trip together and also didn’t want to pay a ton of money. We found secrets and despite the poor reviews decided to risk it. Negatives: Sewer smell in many areas of the resorts Food was hit or miss (but to be honest I have never been highly impressed with any all inclusive resort foods so not horrible) Sometimes no hot water for shower Pools were pretty cold (could just be the time of year we went) Positives: Cheap Nice room Highly recommend being preferred as you get as access to all three resorts (dreams, Sunscape and secrets). That allows you to have many options for food. Being preferred you also get access to the preferred lounge which had great little snacks and we would go there at night and play cards/drink. Though it is rocky, great snorkeling right in front of the resort! Drinks were delicious! We had great bartenders , so friendly and welcoming! (Specifically, Jonathan, angel, Christian) ALL of the staff in all locations were so nice and wonderful! Can’t express that enough! We were always able to get a chair on the beach and it was so nice! ARBEY is the shining star of the resort! He made our week so much fun! We all loved playing beach and pool volleyball. He definitely deserves a raise! Though we only got to catch one show, it was a Mayan show and it was amazing!! Eric from amstar was also great! Overall for our group it was a good fit. None of us had high expectations but really enjoyed ourselves. Also recommend the taco place across the street! Very good!! We also had a blast on the Cozumel bar hop! It was very cool to see the other side of the resort! We also did a snorkeling excursion with Adrian Cozumel and that was awesome as well! Definitely recommend!
