Wonderful Family Vacation - Salterra!
Our family recently stayed at Salterra in South Caicos, and it was one of the best luxury travel experiences we’ve ever had. The spa at Salterra was amazing and is truly one of the best in all the Caribbean. The spa pool and exceptional therapists made it a one of a kind spa experience. This is a destination spa that will surely win awards as one of the top spas in the Carribean. Salterra’s pools and beach are incredibly private and uncrowded as there are no neighboring resorts providing an amazing experience without the hustle and bustle of many beach resorts. We often found ourselves with the pool or stretches of the pristine white sand beach entirely to ourselves, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy the turquoise waters and island breeze. We opted for a suite upgrade, and it was absolutely worth it. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed with a amazing furniture and the vies of the ocean are amazing. It is worth noting that all rooms at the resort are oceanfront! Our private outdoor space allowed us to relax with sunset cocktails before dinner. The food at Salterra was consistently amazing. We really enjoyed the conch ceviche and appreciated the carefully curated menus as each meal was a highlight of our stay. The culinary team at Salterra clearly takes pride in delivering a world-class dining experience. We really appreciated the wine list as well which was nicely paired with the food! Above all, the staff and service at Salterra are among the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. Every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. They anticipated our needs while respecting our privacy, adding to the seamless, relaxed luxury that Salterra offers. This resort rivals any Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton or equivalent we have stayed at...the boutique feel truly sets it apart. If you are looking for a peaceful, luxurious Caribbean retreat, Salterra in South Caicos should be at the top of your list. Our family is already planning our return and planning to bring our friends as well! Great job and very appreciative of the Salterra Team!

Perfect escape
I just returned from Salterra after a week-long stay. It was my first time in Turks and Caicos, and I was excited to experience it. Salterra did not disappoint. Highlights below: - Tone was set perfectly upon arrival by an attentive welcoming committee offering punch and towels and ushering us into the gorgeous lobby. The lobby building was honestly my favorite thing about the hotel. It's beautifully designed with plenty of space to hang out (important for me because I'm honestly not a huge pool person) and I loved just bouncing back and forth between Sisal for cocktails and Flamingo Cafe for coffee, and relaxing playing the games provided by the hotel. -Rooms were beautiful. Very comfortable and well appointed, and my favorite detail was the filtered water faucets with very cute reusable Salterra water bottles. I was excited to see Byredo products in the shower as well. - The spa was fantastic. I had an incredible massage and enjoyed spending time lounging by the spa pool after (they serve a post-massage honey ginger tea that was absolutely delicious). -The gym was well equipped; first time I've seen lat pulldown and leg press machines at a hotel. - Be sure to book the tasting menu at Brine. It's a chef's tasting where each dish is paired with a different salt, which makes for such a fun story and elevated experience (the wine pairings were delicious, too, including a Greek white wine that I'm kicking myself for not getting the name of). - Take advantage of the cocktail classes. There are casual cocktail demonstrations at Sisal bar but you can also sign up for private tastings. I did the Rum tasting, paired with housemade chocolates and really learned a lot (Jati knows his stuff!) Overall it's a high recommend. I wasn't sure what to expect (I'm really not a pool person and was wondering if I'd get bored) but I had a truly memorable week. Would definitely return.

Salterra Resort, South Caicos – Honest Review After a June Stay
Arrival & Check-In • Pre-arrival communication was excellent. Both Head Concierge Devon and Agent Hannegil answered all our questions about Salterra Adventures and scuba diving. • Upon arrival, Hannegil greeted us personally and gave us a thorough resort tour. • One drawback: After landing, we had to wait outside the hotel shuttle in the hot sun until all guests and luggage were loaded. Not ideal, but our first impression improved once we reached the resort. Accommodations • We enjoyed a spacious one-bedroom suite booked through Marriott Bonvoy (Titanium status), with daily breakfast included. • The suite was spotless, comfortable, and featured a relaxing lanai. It exceeded our expectations. • Marriott Bonvoy Platinum and above: Free breakfast is honored here. Dining • Dinner at Brine was exceptional—definitely book a reservation. • Flamingo Café’s Americanos and pastries were a highlight, thanks to Marlyn’s cheerful service. • Cobo’s server, Lovely, made us feel genuinely welcome each evening. • Riti and Rose at breakfast remembered our coffee order daily, adding a personal touch. • Room for improvement: Limited fresh seafood and few daily specials, which is surprising given the island’s fishing industry. Amenities & Activities • The resort offers fantastic saltwater pools, a beautiful beach, pickleball courts, and courtesy bikes for exploring and birdwatching. • We enjoyed daily programs like wine tastings with Max (the sommelier), a cocktail mixing class with Vincent, and a fascinating coral reef rehabilitation program with Anna the director of Conservation and Experiences • The visit with Anna to the coral rehabilitation lab at the School for Field Studies was a unique highlight. Scuba Diving • Our main reason for visiting was diving, but wind and waves meant we only were allowed to complete two days out of four planned. • The custom dive boat is new and comfortable. Captain Dwayne (“Cap”) and dive master Edgar (a former Philippine Navy SEAL) were professional and made us feel safe and welcome. • Suggestion: Offer fruit or light snacks on the dive boat. Service & Staff • Staff were a standout: Hannegil, Marlyn, Riti, Rose, Lovely, Cap, and Edgar all delivered exceptional service. • Tony, our butler, arranged private transport for our departure, making up for the arrival hiccup. • Housekeeping sometimes arrived early with little notice. Also, only one chocolate truffle at turndown for two guests—a small detail, but worth mentioning. Communication & Guest Experience • WhatsApp communication was set up, but notifications about cancelled activities weren’t always timely. • Management responded sincerely to feedback and worked to address our concerns. Fees & Pricing • Be aware: Salterra charges a 5% resort fee (percentage-based, not fixed), a 10% service fee on all charges, plus a 12% government tax. These are separate from discretionary gratuities. • With all fees and tips, your bill can end up nearly 47% higher than expected. • Suggestion: Including these fees in the room rate would make pricing more transparent. Final Tips • Use the privacy button and deadbolt when in your room to avoid early housekeeping visits. • If you’re diving, bring your own snacks for the boat. Overall Impression Despite some disappointments—weather, communication, and the confusing fee structure—our stay at Salterra was memorable. The thoughtful design, excellent amenities, and genuinely warm staff were consolation for the missed dives. We recommend Salterra for travelers seeking quiet relaxation, attentive service, and a bit of adventure in South Caicos. Would we return? Yes, with a few reservations. The staff and amenities are top-notch, but we hope to see more transparent pricing and a few tweaks to the guest experience.

Great experience
My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. We will definitely be coming back. The one thing we didn't realize is that most of the islands on Turks and Caicos are not connected by bridges. This is a great place if you want seclusion.

Absolute GEM with direct flight from Miami - the perfect romantic getaway
Amazing experience from start to finish. Hotel staff were at the airport to greet us and provided the transfer to the property. Welcomed by name at the hotel and provided with refreshments while completing the check-in process. Escorted to our room, which was beautiful. All of the rooms look out over the pool and ocean; there does not seem to be a single "bad" room. We had a 1st floor suite that opened to a private patio with a hammock, extremely serene! The four restaurants on the property were all wonderful, which provided a nice variety of dining options and experiences - plus, they seemed quite reasonably priced relative to many other luxury destination resorts. The pool is unreal, so beautiful and huge - always had plenty of space and options for shade or sun, plus full beach service with chairs, umbrellas, and food service. This was the perfect couples getaway. We will absolutely return!
