Nov 18, 2025Terrible over priced horrible food poor Maitenance and rude staff stay away!!
Avoid this hotel like the plague! As an avid traveler I’ve been lucky to travel extensively and this hotel is simply not worth the money. Check in took an hour. Had a cockroach in our room at check in. No hot water in the shower. Ask for Maitenance 28 hours later nothing. Filled up the jacuzzi tub and it won’t drain. Asked for Maitenance and no nobody has showed up for hours. There’s black dirt and debris that came up from the tub after filing. Can’t get a drink. Terrible food. If we weren’t here for a wedding we’d leave immediately. This place is absolutely awful. Other members of our party have had similiar issues. We paid for the diamond service and it’s still awful. Will never ever be back!

Disappointing
We are here now and leaving tomorrow. Our experience has been the same throughout as others. 1) The beach is not good for swimming. 2) Room service is extremely disappointing, and housekeeping is also lousy. 3) The rooms are okay. There are no elevators in any of the buildings, and they are all three stories high. Fortunately, no one got sick during our one-week vacation. We were unable to get a reservation at any of the restaurants all week. Extremely disappointed with the app-based reservation system. This resort does not deserve a five-star rating.

We had a great time at the Royalton Splash. Amenities were great- really enjoyed all the pools and beach. We had the Diamond upgrade which was wonderful as our butler Renaildo handled all of our requests etc. the regular service was ok but Renaildo was needed to make things pleasant. Our room had a loud squeaky AC unit which they never fixed- and the food was mediocre. Still a wonderful trip.

Excellent Butler!
Reinaldo Ureña was our butler. My experience is solely based on the service that he provided. He was attentive, showed empathy and ensured that we were assigned to a new room and that our experience was better. He is a stellar employee and should be rewarded.
