  Beautiful Resort!

  Beautiful resort with incredible beach! The staff were amazing at making your stay extra special! We loved the Under the Sea Restaurant! Incredible food, amazing service and the hostess went above and beyond getting us a reservation when it was hard to do on our own. Thank you for such a lovely visit! 💜

  Do Yourself a Favor — Stay Somewhere Else

  After a 12-hour travel day, we arrived and were incorrectly told we owed $1,800 more for our stay. I had to prove—via email—that we were paid in full and then argue with staff for 40 minutes before they admitted their mistake. A terrible first impression. Room requests are ignored. The room was old but clean. One night we had no hot water, and the front desk’s response was simply, “It should be on sometime tomorrow.” No solution, no concern. Dining is a nightmare unless you upgrade to Diamond Club. Reservations must be made through an app that barely works. I was told I had to eat at the buffet my first night, yet staff couldn’t show me where that policy existed. I eventually had to involve the property manager just to get seated at a restaurant. The food—especially the Mexican restaurant and small buffet—was some of the worst I’ve had at an all-inclusive. A few places were decent, but many require extra charges unless you upgrade. This resort constantly pushes timeshare and upgrades. The “welcome breakfast” is a sales pitch. Guests who skipped it were reportedly punished by having dinner reservations canceled. The only positive was our concierge, Lililana. She was outstanding and the only reason we stayed. The spa and massages were also excellent. Service elsewhere was poor. Bartenders were extremely slow, tipping didn’t help, and staff clearly didn’t care. We were told by sales staff that part of the resort is closing soon for renovations and employees know they’ll be out of work, which explains the attitude. Beach water sports are advertised as free, but they require deposits—something not disclosed upfront. Shack staff were rude and tried to keep deposits if equipment was returned even a minute late. Bring sunscreen. It’s $50 USD on the resort and $8 USD next door. Photography was another upsell scam—quoted one price, then aggressively pushed a $1,000 package and caused a scene when I refused. This place is a complete money grab with shockingly bad service. Do not come here. Stay literally anywhere else.

  We have had a great time. We have been looked after by Santiago our butler. Ask him a question he comes up with the correct answer, not what he thinks you want to hear. A true gentleman and can only go onwards and upwards within this company. We were Diamond Club and in our opinion its a MUST on the Splash side. Generally the food ( buffet ) at royalton sister hotel is much better. We were in Diamond club block 29, room 29335 (somewhat a little tired but more than acceptable) overlooking the Splash water park, 2 sets of stairs that at first glance were a little daunting, 3rd floor, however as people in their 70's it really wasn't a problem at all. We believe that any AI hotel in the world will always struggle to please all of the people, all of the time. Overall everyone we spoke to said the same thing, you can always get something good to eat and drink. The amenities pools and restaurants are in the main very good, however the speciality Restaurants sometimes let the side down. Now, to drinks. Beer not to my taste , wine very good, I'm red my wife Rose, wherever we went they seemed to have just run out of Rose or she got half a glass, in the Asian restaurant she got half a glass, that was it they said they had no more, not end of the world but, a little poor. Most of the staff are smiley and pleasant. All in all for a Resort with AI we think its good value for money, not perfect, but then again at these prices where is. Once again a big shout out to Santiago he'd contacted us daily and booked restaurants, gave advice, generally a nice person Now the big question, would we come again? Yes, is the answer, in fact we've already booked, hopefully we will also be allocated Santiago as our butler. Be back on the 18th January 2027, looking forward to it already.

  Not for the price

  Adequate at best. Messed up rooms. Cold food and. Splash part is set up so 5 and 8 years can't play together. Won't be back.

  WEAR WATER SHOES IN THE POOLS

  The Hotel is clean the food is good BUT wear water shoes in the pools . We were 8 and my 20 year old cut his foot on a broken tile in the pool not just a cut it removed a chunk of skin , I have a photo which is to gross to show . Had the Dr clean and put pressure bandages on it because it wouldn’t stop bleeding the next day back to the dr still bleeding more pressure bandages could not put stitches because there a chunk missing antibiotics pills and creams had to use a wheel chair for 3 and a half days not fun for a 20 year old. So 700.00 usd later (yes I have insurance) and the only compensation offered was dinner at a restaurant that we never got because we were leaving it took 4 days to decide so because they don’t maintain their pools his vacation sucked not impressed with the management at all.
