Jan 14, 2026Edwin Berroa at the Royalton Splash makes your stay twice as good.
We visited the Royalton with mostly our whole family January of 2026. Edwin Berroa made our stay extra special and accommodating. He made the whole experience fantastic. Made sure we had things to do, places to have meals as a big group. I was sick one day and he even went above and beyond to get me some gingerale. Fantastic person and great at his job. Highly recommend this resort and make sure you have Edwin Berroa help with your stay!

Best place to go ❤️
We traveled as a family with 2 kids (9&4 years old). Everybody had a lot of fun. We had Edwin Berroa as our butler. He was so helpful with everything from making reservations for dinner every night to personal things that you need during your staying. The food is good, the room is clean and the people are happy making you feel welcome and comfortable. This was our second time and will come back there soon.

Jan 13, 2026AWFUL RESORT - NO RELIABLE WATER SOURCE
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT come to this resort. My family and I are currently here and have not had water in our room for 2 days. We can’t shower, use our washroom, wash our hands, it’s disgusting. Our mini fridge was leaking ammonia causing our eyes to burn and nausea. Our toilet is now leaking, the fire alarm randomly went off in the middle of the night… it’s awful. A bunch of guests have filed complaints because of the water issue (ourselves included). Besides all of this, the food isn’t very good and I have yet to actually have wait staff come around for a drink order when we’ve been at the pool. Please go somewhere else. I usually don’t leave poor reviews, but this has been ridiculous.

Extremely Disappointing and Distressing Stay
Our stay at Royalton Splash Punta Cana was absolutely appalling and has been one of the worst holiday experiences we have ever had. From the start, staff were unapproachable, rude, dismissive, and failed to take any of our concerns seriously. Issues raised were not followed up, and we were repeatedly ignored. This lack of care and professionalism was shocking for a hotel that claims to be luxury. The room was in very poor condition. There was a foul smell coming from the shower, general cleanliness was below an acceptable standard, and basic amenities were missing or broken. We waited three days for a kettle for our baby, despite requesting it multiple times. We also requested an iron and reported that the hairdryer was not working — both issues were raised repeatedly and never resolved. The most serious issue was food safety. During our stay, I became violently ill after eating at the hotel and had to be blue-lighted by ambulance to hospital, where I was admitted. My partner and young child were forced to stay overnight with me. This was an extremely frightening and traumatic experience that no family should go through on holiday. This incident completely ruined our trip and caused significant distress, anxiety, and disruption. The lack of accountability and concern shown afterward only made matters worse. Overall, this hotel failed on every level — accommodation standards, customer service, hygiene, and guest safety. We are incredibly disappointed and would strongly advise others to think very carefully before booking. This was not the relaxing family holiday we were promised, and we will never return.

Mexicana dining experience
Nayeli gave us a great welcome on the second visit to Mexicana. The food was great quality and they were happy to let us select from different courses on the menu. Yanibel was our lovely waitress on both visits and was both helpful and friendly. The service is very quick, so please ask if you want it slowed down to suit your dining experience. We’re here for another week so will most certainly be back again.
