This was our first time coming to Punta Cana. The Royalton Splash was a fantastic resort. We had access to the amenities of the neighboring Royalton resort. We decided to splurge as a family and got the Diamond Club package which included a butler service. Our butler, Edwin Berroa truly made the experience top notch. He took care of any and everything for us so that we could spend the vacation time relaxing and spending it with family. He was very courteous, prompt and so personable that it was a joy to have him be a part of our vacation. The waterpark and pool areas are clean and well maintained. The à la cartes and buffet restaurants had plenty of variety for the whole family, and we got to experience a super cool BBQ on the beach. Lots of daily and nightly activities for the whole family as well. Would definitely recommend Royalton Splash.

Dec 22, 2025Disappointed Not Worth the “Four-Star” Label
⭐ Rating: 0.5 / 5 — Not Worth the “Four-Star” Label We stayed at Royalton Splash Punta Cana from 12/16–12/21 for a family trip and booked a Presidential Suite with Diamond Club service. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences we’ve had. From day one, things went downhill. We arrived at 1:45 PM and were told our room would be ready by 3 PM. When we returned to the Diamond Club lounge, we were ignored for over an hour. During this wait, there were two power outages, and the Wi-Fi was repeatedly down—an issue that continued throughout our stay. Our butler never showed up, and despite asking multiple staff members to speak with a manager, we were completely ignored. We were finally taken to our room at 5 PM, not by our butler, but by another staff member. The suite itself had issues immediately—broken shower head, multiple failed repair attempts, and mold-smelling comforters. Diamond Club snack service, which was supposed to be daily, was filled once during our entire stay, only after repeatedly asking. Food quality across the resort was poor. A Diamond Club–only beach BBQ sounded promising but was another letdown: raw shrimp, cold and tough steak. Premium liquor requests were often met with confusion. Cleanliness was inconsistent—dirty tables left sitting in the buffet, and broken tiles in the pool, which felt unsafe. The only positive was our assigned butler once we finally connected with him—he genuinely tried his best, was kind, and did what he could within a clearly broken system. As a family, we made the best of the trip, but I would not recommend this hotel, especially not the Diamond Club or Presidential Suite. For the price paid, the service does not come close to what’s advertised. This experience also raises concerns about whether this is an issue with this specific location or the Royalton brand overall. Bottom line: Not worth the cost, not worth the “four-star” rating, and not a resort we would return to.

This was the second time coming to this resort. The first time using the Diamond Club services. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We did have a couple of issues (leaky sink and phone didn’t work) and both were fixed within the day. It was easy to get around and we also used the Royalton Punta Cana resort. Our butler Carlos was amazing. He made sure we were taken care of the whole time. We were a family of 12 and Carlos made our a la carte reservations for the time we wanted every day. It was my husband’s birthday and our room was decorated and they had a cake for him. I would have given a perfect rating except for 2 things. 1. The buffet on the Splash side does not have ac and 2. We had a very bad experience at the Italian restaurant on the Punta Cana side. They did not seat us together, the waitress messed up quite a few of our orders and had trouble communicating in English. Otherwise I would recommend Royalton Splash & Royalton Punta Cana in a heartbeat.

Dec 22, 2025Stay away - Poorly managed and bad with allergies
Bad with food allergies, app is difficult on iOS and Android, plus management is unresponsive to issues. Food: We provided our allergies but 4 times we were served food we are allergic to. Food on the menu which was labeled vegetarian had meat in it. Buffet is poorly labeled. Management: We were given a downgraded room on arrival. We were offered a swap. Because of mistakes from management we had no room for 9 hours and ended up locked out late at night. We had to pack & unpack and move our own luggage across the resort repeatedly. Management never gave us an answer about compensation, despite specifically saying they would respond "in the morning" then "by 5pm" App: Confusing and poorly explained. Room service was repeatedly cancelled without explanation. Hard to make reservations for restaurants. Misc: Overcrowded and understaffed. It was often hard to find towels or lounge chairs by the pool. At the buffet you are expected to wait for table service for water / silverware / beverages--but often no one comes to offer that service.

Stay somewhere else
The structures on this resort are nicely maintained but unfortunately the staff are brutal. I'm a pretty normal dad/husband so I generally think my opinion of places falls in line with what most people would think. So here it is. This place sucks! The layout of the bars and restaurants limits your access to food and drinks. I.e. if you want an 11am coffee you're walking halfway across the resort. Most of the restaurants are for diamond club or cost extra. Regardless of if you tip your service will be professional but entirely cold. Zero sense of fun, warmth, or hospitality. Often you'll ask for something, and they say they're bringing it then poof you never see them again. The vibes of this place are terrible. That said the beach is good, water park is nice. If you are in a good mood you'll have fun but don't expect anything from this place to actually boost your mood. Edit: geez I forgot to mention nearby properties burn their garbage at night so depending on the winds, this resort smells like burning garbage at night and in your room. Disgusting!
