  Recommend for kids

  This was a great location for families. Very family friendly staff, pools, and ease of getting around. They had great entertainment at night for kids. There was not a huge party atmosphere, so for the kids it was perfect but there was plenty of fun stuff for parents as well. The splash park with water slides was a huge hit. The room we stayed at was nice. You could tell it has been a bit for updates. The property itself was very clean and well maintained. The food was good at the Buffett. But definitely want to eat at many of the restaurants cause the food and service is much better. Overall mostly happy with the price and what we got out of it. Never a pack of things to do.

  The kids absolutely loved it. We had an incredible time but there was certainly room for improvement. Our butler was amazing. The food was pretty good. One part that really sucked is our toilet only worked half the time. The water kept going on and off in the rooms. The fire alas went on when the water would get turned back on (middle of the night). They said we had a bottle included in our room every 48hours but it took 3 days (maybe 4) after arrival to get the bottle. We loved the waterslides. The beach, most of the restaurants. And the tennis lessons.

  First Time at an All Inclusive!

  This was our first all-inclusive resort, as we normally travel 3–4 times a year on cruise ships, so we weren’t sure what to expect. After four nights at Royalton Splash Punta Cana, we were pleasantly surprised and honestly wished we had booked a longer stay. The resort is huge and easily takes a full day to explore. Splash connects with Royalton Punta Cana, and as Splash guests we had access to most shared areas, excluding Diamond Club and adults-only spaces. We did not upgrade or have a butler and didn’t feel it was necessary for us. Coming from cruising, walking isn’t an issue, so the 10-minute walk to the beach didn’t bother us at all—we actually preferred it over waiting for the trolley. The walk itself was a highlight: well-kept grounds, beautiful scenery, and wildlife including iguanas, turtles, and even a mother duck with her chicks. The fresh morning air was amazing. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable for four people. The minibar was restocked daily, the bracelet key worked well, and the TV easily switched to English channels. Room service is available 24/7, but we had one poor experience when a scheduled early-morning order never arrived despite showing confirmed in the app. We went to the buffet instead, which worked out fine, but we didn’t use room service again. We did experience a temporary water issue one night (no water, then no hot water), which was frustrating after a long pool and beach day. However, the issue was resolved and the front desk followed up with us afterward. The pool variety is excellent—lively pools with music and games, as well as quieter options. Swim-up bars are everywhere. We mainly ate burgers and fries at the Beach Café, which was fast and consistent. Bites was not good on our first visit, so we didn’t return. The waterpark exceeded expectations and felt like a standalone attraction with great slides and a wave pool. Our teens loved it. The White Party was also a highlight—fun, energetic, and family-friendly. We found the buffet better than expected for breakfast, with good variety and quality. A special shout-out to Antolin, who made every visit enjoyable with excellent service and kindness. We dined at Under the Sea, Grazie, and Zen—all solid with good portions. Zen was especially fun. The beach was beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with seaweed cleared daily. Our daughters loved the paddle boards—easy rentals and very friendly staff. What truly made this trip special was the staff: • Radyamma at teppanyaki was hilarious and brought incredible energy. • Salomon at the Beach Bar made our daughter’s 18th birthday extra special. • Alexander (“Black Coffee”) was the highlight of our pool days—his energy during water aerobics was unmatched. • Angel and Edwin at the sushi bar were fun, engaging, and memorable. • William at the Punta Cana front desk went above and beyond late at night to help recover my lost phone—absolutely outstanding. • Jaime at Splash front desk made checkout smooth and stress-free. • Jean was great with spa booking, though the actual beach massage was unfortunately the worst part of our trip and not recommended. • Carlos, the Marriott representative, was amazing—birthday banner, constant communication, and truly helpful. Restaurant reservations were the biggest learning curve. The app was frustrating, but visiting the concierge in person worked. The resort was clean and well maintained, with staff constantly working. We used bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth with no issues (available in rooms and cafés). Overall, this was a great first all-inclusive experience, especially for families with teens. We’d definitely recommend Royalton Splash and would return again—just for a longer stay next time.

  Ups and downs of this waterpark resort

  From arrival to departure, the resort has lots of positives and negatives. Take this review with a grain of salt if you will. I am writing post trip, after a week of my kids and I being violently ill with norovirus or a parasite that I can’t help but believe was linked to the food or water at this resort. Especially after reading all the reviews of travellers that have been sick over the 2025 holiday season. We stayed at the Royalton Splash but frequented the restaurants and pools of both the Royalton Punta Cana and the Splash Pool. Our check in was probably the most disappointing. After paying extra to book a luxury family suite we arrived to be told that our room was not available. As a solo parent travelling with 2 young kids, who I specifically booked the bunk bed suite for, I was supremely disappointed. Days later and MANY phone calls and complaints to the front desk, we were able to move into an adjacent room to the one I selected. It had a leaky ceiling and broken door handle, but my girls were thrilled and that’s what counted. Thank you to Luis at the front desk for helping a mom out! Positives of the hotel: pool staff and family entertainment, beans cafe for coffee and bites for burgers/fries, splash park super close - unfortunately that is it. Negatives: buffet food selection, restaurant options/reservation system, cold water pressure/dated bathrooms, distance to beach, lack of pool loungers (I had to wake up at 6:15 am every morning to secure loungers for my family), distinction between the Splash folk and Punta Cana guests and lastly, as I write hugging the toilet, clearly the sanitation issues with food/drinking or pool water. Overall, I hadn’t returned to Dominican in over 20 years, and we won’t be travelling back for at least that! Not worth the week off of work and volatile illness my kids and I have endured for over a week since returning.

  Will never return

  The experience was horrible. Too many mosquitos(I guess that’s what they were). The sewer smell was awful. The hostess and manager were very unprofessional.
