I don’t even know where to begin. Most of our travel party got sick during our stay. We were diamond club and don’t get 95% of the things listed in the resort page. We also couldn’t book a sitdown dinner. Every restaurant was “full”. Turns out if you order wine with dinner all these spots become open. As a Bonvoy titanium elite member I will NOT be back and do NOT recommended staying here. We saw our butler day one and never saw him again. Things we didn’t get: Welcome bottle of sparking wine and fruit basket. Bottle of alcohol which I picked out and just never got. Umbrella in the room Robes Welcome tote with sandals Turn down service Spa hydro therapy and reduced price on service Coffee pod refills Fridge refill Room service (we were able to get twice and got rejected twice) Better shower products Dinner at diamond club restaurant (unless wine was purchased) Towels. Ran out daily by lunch. Don’t stay here.

I was in room 21-204 and the whole thing was infested with bugs. Moreover, the food in the buffet is all looks no taste, they managed to mess up even the simplest foods/deserts. Also, if you’re a Muslim goodluck getting to know if it’s pork or beef because they don’t know and barely understand, the waiters depends the really good ones serve you as intended and do a phenomenal job, however the bad ones ignore you, or look your way, see you talking to them, and keep ignoring you. The only good things about the buffet were the guys on the grill, super friendly, and trying to lighten up the mood.

Not the best service
Very disappointing experience at Royalton Splash Punta Cana. After a long day of travel, I had to wait over an hour just to check in, despite there being no other guests in line. I was then told my reservation was marked as a “no-show”, even though I had emailed the hotel in advance to confirm my late arrival. This caused unnecessary stress when all I wanted was to get to my room and rest. To make matters worse, I was informed that I would not receive my Bonvoy Elite benefits because I “arrived too late,” which makes absolutely no sense. Elite benefits are tied to the reservation and membership status, not the time you arrive—especially when the hotel was notified ahead of time. This felt unprofessional and dismissive. On top of that, the hotel charged my card in the wrong currency without proper explanation, and my key card did not work on my room, forcing me to return to the front desk yet again. For a resort that promotes itself as a premium, family-friendly property, the front desk operations were extremely disorganized. Long check-in delays, reservation errors, denial of loyalty benefits, incorrect billing, and room access issues are unacceptable—especially after a full day of travel. This stay started off on the worst possible note and left a very poor first impression.

I truly enjoyed my experience at Jade restaurant. The food and service was great. The staff was polite and courteous and made me and my friends feel welcomed. I highly recommend dining at Jade!

Jan 02, 2026Great experience - not perfect but still great
Honest review – Royalton Splash Punta Cana (Non-Diamond Club) We stayed at Royalton Splash for two weeks in December with our 3 year old old daughter and had the best time. It’s definitely not perfect, but if you go in with a positive mindset, it’s a really enjoyable family holiday. This Facebook group honestly made me panic beforehand, and in hindsight, I couldn’t have been happier with our experience. We were really glad we didn’t book Diamond Club. To be honest, it felt like a waste of money. Several families we met who had Diamond Club said they wished they hadn’t bothered. The main benefits are access to the Royalton Punta Cana buffet (which is much better) and free access to the steakhouse and teppanyaki. We simply paid $49pp for teppanyaki instead. when you compare that to the Diamond Club upgrade cost, you save hundreds. I’d seen reviews saying non-Diamond Club guests are treated like second class citizens, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. The only real perks Diamond Club guests get are their own bar, a beach area, and a very small pool on the Splash side, which honestly looked a bit dull. The walk to the Punta Cana side is about 5 minutes (10 at most), or a 2-minute buggy ride that runs very frequently. We actually loved the walk, you see turtles, huge lizards, and lots of birds and ducks along the way. À la carte restaurants can be booked in the app at exactly 5pm for the following day. Often only later slots were available, but guest services were helpful when we asked to move times earlier. Food-wise, we didn’t enjoy the Italian on the Splash side, but absolutely loved Jade (Asian) and the Mexican. Teppanyaki was great fun and definitely worth doing. The steakhouse was a little disappointing. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to try the Italian on the Punta Cana side. The buffet was good overall, we always found something to eat. The entertainment team were fantastic and made a real effort, especially with our daughter. She loved the evening entertainment. Restaurant and bar staff were a bit hit and miss, but that didn’t really bother us. The hotel rooms are fine. They could do with a little updating, but nothing worth complaining about. For the last five days, we upgraded our wristbands to access the Punta Cana buffet, and it really was much better, lobster, huge prawns, and steak almost every day. Overall, we had an amazing holiday because we made the most of it and didn’t sweat the small stuff. In hindsight, I might look at booking the Punta Cana side next time as it’s a bit nicer, with a better beach and buffet (depending on the price difference). That said, the Splash side is still great, and the splash park is brilliant fun for all ages. Would happily return.
