  Relaxing Beach vacation

  This was our first experience at an all-inclusive and our first trip to Mexico. This was special since it was our first “girl” trip for me, my sister and my niece. We wanted to go somewhere to spend time at the beach/pool and picked Royalton with the help of Dawn our travel agent. We decided on Diamond Club since we wanted a relaxing experience. We also chose a room that had a roof top jacuzzi. We were so fortunate to have great butlers (Gina and Enrique) that made our experience at the resort so enjoyable. They made our dinner reservations and helped us plan our stay. We loved that Enrique would have our roof top jacuzzi ready for us after dinner. Gina was so helpful when we let her know my sister wasn’t feeling well. She took the time to help us by bringing tea which made my sister feel better. My sister Nikki and I were just talking today about our trip and would love to go again. The staff really worked hard to make us feel special. Israel at the food court would recognize us and took time to remember what drinks we liked. The activity staff even convinced us to do some pool aerobics and it was so much fun! The resort had started renovations so it will be fun to see the changes. Thanks especially to Gina for being such a nice warm person who truly understands the meaning of hospitality.

  Outstanding service at Dorado

  This review is for Miguel Castaneda at Dorado restaurant. He is a standout at what has been a somewhat disappointing stay. He was friendly, talked about the menu and prevented me from ordering a dish with a non obvious component that might have caused an allergy problem. The chef made an adjustment to solve the problem. Thank you Miguel

  Exceptional trip, fantastic service.

  We had an excellent time attending a wedding and the pleasure of staying in one of the Chairman suites. Our hosts Oscar and Nassar were fanastic all week arranging whatever it was we needed. Aldo and Raquel took care of us every day at the pool and Daniel (mixologist) provided an exceptional experience with an in room cocktail party. Overall the facility was great and the service was even better.

  A nice vacation - great staff

  I have travelled throughout the Caribbean my entire life so this will be a very fair assessment. Pros Staff were absolutely amazing - cleaning staff/ wait staff/ entertainment staff etc. The staff go above and beyond to give you a wonderful vacation. A special thanks to Mirtha Alejandra in the front lobby for all her help in addressing some requests and concerns. We ate at 5 à la carte restaurants and most of them were top notch- great food and service. The Italian was the only one that fell short but lost people like the food there. Perhaps they were short staffed the day we went. The Buffet food and the food trucks surrounding the property were also good with many options. The grounds were beautiful and clean. The pool areas had lots of chairs and shade but you needed to reserve your chair in the early morning. We unfortunately arrived in the middle of a cold spell so nobody used the pools as they were freezing cold. Even if the weather had been warmer the pools were too cold to swim in. Next time if I travel in February, I will ensure that the hotel I choose has heated pools. The beach was spectacular with lots of chairs and shade. The water was clear and very inviting. There was very limited sargassam as the hotel out nets out in the sea to contain it. We did have to exit the water once because of a crocodile. We also saw a smaller crocodile at the far right side of the beach. The staff monitor very carefully to ensure that the water is safe. The entertainment staff and musicians worked really hard to give everyone a good time. The rooms were spacious and the daily cleaning was good. The gym was outstanding! I have never seen a gym as good as this one in any Caribbean Island. We did the hydrotherapy circuit at the spa and it was also wonderful. Cons We arrived at 9:40 pm and check in took hours. We did not get our room until 2:00am. Only two young teens were operating the check in and this was beyond unacceptable after a long journey. There is a very bad sewage smell coming from certain areas of the resort but most especially in the hallways. The staff claim this is as a result of the mangrove. The smell is full blown sewage and had nothing to do with the foliage. This was the biggest concern and it is something that they need to address. Overall the resort was beautiful and the staff were amazing in all areas of operation.
