  Notable Staff Member at Buffet Restaurant

  Staff member, Geraldo, at the buffet restaurant is a gracious, charming and always helpful host to all visitors. Happy to chat or be unobtrusive, he is sensitive to the guests needs. I always look forward to seeing him when I go for dinner. He is outstanding.

  Great resort, amazing staff, good vibes from the pool side entertainment

  This was our second year visiting The Royalton Punta Cana, and we had a great family vacation once again, many thanks to Christopher who we met last year, he’s such a good person, friendly, attentive and helpful. Our butler Jairon was so extremely helpful with booking our reservations for supper each night ( which is tricky with a group of 10) he also helped with a little issue with our rooms, he was attentive, helpful and kind, we’d definitely request him in the future if that’s possible. The resort is beautiful, pools are great, pool bar staff and diamond club bar are amazing! The sushi was top notch!! I’m still craving it, the hibachi house is a must if you like that cuisine. Espresso martinis at the diamond club bar perfection We hope to be back soon

  Don’t waste your money or time do not go here.

  The worst experience of my life. Went with my partner to Dominican to this Royalton resort for vacation this past October for a week, where I got very sick the entire week with the stomach flu, likely from either the food or ice. Resort showers leaked despite room change, room phone didn’t work and when I had medical emergency we couldn’t reach them, my partner had to walk to reception in heavy rain and their doctor initially refused to come to the room to see me when they had transportation, wanted us to walk over to royalton splash at night during rain storm meanwhile we have never been and were physically incapable. Room key didn’t initially work despite replacements. Towel service ran out of towels past 12?…Was also served peanut sauce NOT listed on their menu with food item I ordered labelled Summer Roll, when I am anaphylactic to peanuts and almonds. Staff asked us twice if there were any allergies in which we said “all nuts” for myself to be safe, which they wrote down… how did this problem still persist?…I have photo and/or video evidence of everything I am speaking on!!!!!! They refused to show us paper they wrote it on only let us see it later after telling Employee Jeiffry, (so it could have been tampered with.) Jeiffry accused me of “knowing” peanut sauce came with the meal despite it never being mentioned or listed on the menu…and I am anaphylactic to peanuts!… our entire experience in telling him these serious issues he was extremely condescending, had no empathy, offered room upgrade or being part of diamond club for the last 2 days or so after we kept bringing up our un resolved problems and were told they are not liable and nothing can be done. We experienced negligence at this resort, these “upgrades” makes no difference to us when the week was almost over and does not improve our terrible experience. We wanted to leave and are seeking compensation as we paid alot of money for this experience and it was not up to par with its claims of service and safety. I do NOT recommend as my experience was deeply traumatic. I provided images below, they gave us their what’s app when our room phone did not work but did not respond or provide proper services when needed. Do not book this resort.

  Good beach bad food. Not great experience.

  Food was not good. If your not diamond club you will not get in the restaurants. We were diamond club which was ok but they will try and sell you their prime program. I think that’s what it’s called. Beach was good. Pool good but no food there. Entertainment was very lacking. Again food was bad. Went to bed hungry every night. Very disappointed.

  Second time at Royalton Punta Cana not sure if I want to go back

  We returned to Royalton Punta Cana in December for my 50th birthday as group of 10. We originally booked oceanview rooms at Royalton Hideaway at Blue Waters in Jamaica (as returning guests as well) but it got closed due to Hurricane Melissa so we decided to go back to Royalton Punta Cana where we visited in summer of 2019 (I wrote a review at that time with 5 stars - group of 8) . Because the change of hotels happened about 2 weeks before arrival Hideaway rooms were not available only Royalton Punta Cana regular rooms for which we had to pay extra. We had no problem with it as we stayed before in this hotel and we liked it. I emailed Royalton for 5 rooms on higher floors and asked to order a cake and restaurant for my birthday that was on Day 2 of vacation. I got email back that nothing can be done until we arrive. When we arrived 4 rooms were on higher floors as we asked except for mine…Cloudy was trying very hard to sell to us diamond club which we didn’t want (at the time of original booking RPC diamond club was less expensive than Oceanview Hideaway room in Jamaica) and we already paid extra for hotel change. When we didn’t upgrade he gave us beautiful room on main floor looking at utility closet. Next day I tried to book restaurant for 10 people were told we can only do it on app (max 6 people) where for 1/2 of us app did not even work… so 1/2 day of running between costumer service and Sunwing rep I was finally able to book stake house restaurant (that app had it as closed that day) and buy a cake. This should not be that complicated- it never was at any other resort in my 25 years of travel. When questioned how can we book restaurants for 10 we’re told to see another desk downstairs across from tours desk where we were quoted $200 USD for each reservation. Anyway I really liked the way the rooms had been updated since our last visit. Food and drinks were ok. Vibe team fun. We preferred it so much better 2019 visit where you did not need reservations to the restaurants. What was not acceptable was that many people got sick (6 of 10 in our group alone) everyone ate different things so we cannot pin point where was the contamination… we think it could have been the pool bar as we noticed that glasses were not washed just rinsed in water… it could have been one time thing but it could have been regular occurrence. When we were checking out we reported to customers service that 6/10 in our group got sick and many of other guests we spoke too were also sick… so it surprised me when I was told they are not aware of guests getting sick. We made the best of vacation and had lots of fun, but I will not book it again if I see the reports of people being sick. All in our group has been travelling for years and know how to behave as so not to get sick. 6/10 is telling that something is not right.
