Nov 11, 2025Worst All Inclusive Experience
I was holding off on posting this as I left a negative review on checkout. I thought I may hear from management, but nothing and it has been 2 weeks. If you are having second thoughts on this resort because of the reviews, make the change! I wish we did… I read all the negative reviews and thought it really couldn’t be that bad so let’s give it a try. Like someone else said a lot of small stuff adds up to be a big deal and then we had a couple things that really were a big deal. It wasn’t all bad and we made the most of our family time, but overall our worst experience at an AI. And yes we have been to both higher and lower class AIs and this one is definitely no 5 star. First the Pros -It is a beautiful resort with lots of potential. -The waterpark was fun and our kids 10 and 13 really enjoyed themselves. -Our room was great layout for our family, we had a Diamond Club 2 bedroom Presidential suite which had a king and 2 queens and 3 full bathrooms, which we weren’t expecting. -Location of room (Building 6) by pool and beach. -Waitstaff at Hunters steakhouse and Grazie are outstanding, especially Enrique. Also, Juana at the buffet and there were other staff that were helpful. Cons Major issues -Food hygiene is a major issue. A live COCKROACH came onto the table from behind the grill where the food is stored at Zen teppanyaki so we left without eating. Also, 2 of 4 of us got food poisoning the second time we ate at Hunters steakhouse. Thankfully it was my wife and I and not our kids. This resulted in a loss of day as I spent entire day in bed and her an evening. For the naysayers, we took all the precautions, probiotics, no tap water, bottled water for brushing teeth, nothing raw. Minor issues -While room layout was nice, it could have been cleaner. There were 2 small blood marks on couch, dirty wet towel in a drawer and hairs in bathroom. -TVs were not programmed to be working on arrival. Had to call to get them turned on. -Beach is in horrible condition and can’t go in the water most days due to sandbags. Sandbags are ugly and are in front of the entire resort. -Ran out of towels at the pool/beach twice in a week. -Ran out washcloths for room twice. -Room didn’t get cleaned everyday. -As there were some very helpful staff, others seemed to have no interest in helping or caring about our complaints, even the diamond club representatives. Diamond Club not worth it all. -Only received drink service on diamond club beach once all week. -No special restaurants for breakfast as website says. -Didn’t receive beach bag as website states. -No priority dining reservations. -No turn down service -Butler didn’t help with any of the above or do anything except make dinner reservations that I could have done myself and still didn’t get all the ones we wanted. So overall thumbs down, won’t return, a lot of little things add up to big things and the food hygiene being major. Royalton/Marriott Management needs to get it together as there are many good staff there and the property has great potential. For now, I’m going to stick to Hyatt run brands.

Absolutely beautiful resort!!!! Staff very friendly and resort very clean. Omar our Butler did a fantastic Job. He really made it a vacation with no worries!!!

Good hotel with good food we really enjoyed our stay ! Fantastic butler service by Noraya our butler, she booked all of our restaurant bookings and checked in every morning to see if we needed anything. Fabulous staff throughout the resort made our stay absolutely fantastic!

This hotel is really great and my favourite person in this hotel is Nilson, Liliana, Eletric. Pool is really excellent, beach is beatutiful. The persons is friendly and funny
