  Royalton Punta Cana

  We had a great time while we were there. Our time was made more memorable because of Juan. He got us checked in, he helped us with dinner reservations, getting the app set up on some, he made sure our transportation was ready at the end and everything on between. He is a saint to have put up with our group but he was so helpful and very nice. Fam!

  Great for families and friends with kids

  We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday with his two best friends and their families, and really enjoyed our stay. Here are some things we learned: - Learn some basic Spanish. While everyone does speak English, I noticed staff really appreciated it when I tried speaking first in Spanish. - Bring small bills for tips. Whether it’s the bartender, server, bell hop or housekeeper, these hardworking people appreciate a little extra. Yes this is an all inclusive resort, but the tips go a long way to helping their families. - We loved loved loved Amarlys as our butler. She went out of her way to make my husband’s birthday very special and took excellent care of us during our stay. Her poise and hospitality are unparalleled. - Although we did dine at some of the restaurants which were okay, we liked the Bon Marche buffet the best. It has an incredible selection that changes each meal and each day. - Get ready to do your steps at the water park. We spent several days here and really enjoyed that there are different levels of water play so everyone feels included. I also appreciated that they didn’t serve alcohol. - Pick a different pool each day. They each have their own vibe. We really liked that they all have a wading pool for younger kids and the main pools have shallower areas so kids can swim and adults can lounge. Definitely try the foam party at least once. Our 11 year old couldn’t get enough. - The shuttle between the two resorts is handy, but definitely take the 4 min walk a couple times. You’ll see more wildlife and sometimes catch a glimpse of the iguanas. - Santa with Nexus Tours is great - very vibrant, funny personality. We booked a snorkel trip to Catalina Island. It’s a very long day, 12 hours, and a lot of the coral reef is dead so don’t expect photo-worthy snorkeling. But the guides were great and being on a boat was very relaxing. - Be patient, especially at check in. Things move a lot slower here and remember you’re on vacation! It took us a day or two to realize that. - The property does a good job at mosquito control. Although we did get a couple bites at night, I’m amazed that we were devoured with all the standing water. - Overall this was a great destination for families with kids and catching up with our friends. We felt safe, welcomed and well cared for.

  Travellers beware - many many people reported being sick on this resort.

  Also the worst experience - 12 out of 16 of us ended up with a stomach bug. Staff was very rude for the first half of the trip. Ruined half of our stay. No shuttle included. Unable to take carry ons on the plane (Air Transat sucks). To summarize I am not certain I would travel with any of these vendors again- Royalton, Air Transat nor Expedia again.

  Family vacation

  We had 9 family members on our Christmas trip. We were Diamond Club and Hector was our Butler! Hector was very attentive and was always available! Hector made our trip so easy with our family scheduling meals always checking in on us We were in Building 6 and 1 room was Presidential Suite and 2 Luxury Suites. The rooms were spotless and more than I expected. 2 of us got sick one day and Hector was awesome in getting us what we needed.

  Request Hector for a Butler! He’s amazing!!

  The hotel is a great location and we stayed as a group of nine! Hector was our butler and he was amazing- always checked in on us and he made reservations at the restaurants for us. Hector also was able to schedule multiple massages for individuals in our group. Request Hector for your butler and you’re guaranteed a great time! Habachi was our favorite restaurant and Mexican was our next favorite place to eat. We never made a reservation for the Under the Sea restaurant. The rooms were always clean and room service came twice and always made sure we had clean towels.
