  Punta Cana

  The location was perfect. Super relaxing and fun vibes! I was able to relax by the pool and ocean, which is truly what I wanted to do on this trip. Our butler was nice and kind; I just expected more from a butler. Checking in about drinks, room needs, food, etc. He booked our restaurants; in my past butler experiences, they have done more. Maybe that is more the norm of a butler in punta cana. The restaurants we did try were average. I can’t say I was super pleased with any of them. The food wasn’t bad by any means; just not spectacular. I do wish there were more pool side food options for lunch. The menu was very limited. The bartenders were super kind and down to earth! Enjoyed all of them for the week! Shout out to Rudy! He was great!

  Pass on this place and find something else

  Not the best resort. My friends who traveled with us had black mold in their curtains. Our shower door didn't hold in a lot of water, it made it run on the floor. Seems to me the rooms could use a few updates. Also, if there's people in the hallways yelling at 2AM, you will hear them. The lock on our patio door was hanging on by a thread. Our butler seemed more worried about getting extra reviews than his colleague than actually doing his job. A lot of talk with no action. Asked for a different pillow, but never got one. Although he was friendly, I don't feel like he went above and beyond the bare minimum. Called for room service that never showed up. Most of the food was bland, with the exception of the hibachi grill. Although the steak they cooked was very tough. Their cooks tried to act fun, but after a while they got annoying. At other restaurants, often times you don't get what you ordered because the staff doesn't understand English or they just don't care. If you arrive late at night, I don't recommend going to the buffet. You could tell the food was sitting out all day. Also got scammed out of $20 while on the beach, which was my fault. The guy had a parrot and I didn't even think to turn him down when he offered to put the parrot on my shoulder for a picture. Got caught up in the moment. Be sure to tell anyone who walks up to you that you don't have any money and they will leave you alone, for the most part. Although my friend was approached by a lady on the beach about getting a pedicure and he told her no, but she wouldn't seem to take no for an answer. The drinks were OK. However, some of the servers didn't seem to understand your order if you didn't order something exactly as it was listed on their menu. It also appeared like some of the fruit they used to make the drinks had mold on them. Beach and weather is gorgeous. Pool was also nice to lounge around. All in all, not the best resort I've visited. 2 of my friends got sick during our visit. I wouldn't recommend to someone I like. Especially those traveling with children.

  Spent most days relaxing by the hideaway pool and bar. It was close and easy to get to the beach!

  Pool was clean and had easy access to the bar and beach. Had a different place to choose from every night to eat at. Our butler made sure we had reservations for each night. The white party and fire show was fun.

  Review Royalton Hideway - Great Experience - Total R&R

  Having just returned, thought I would share some thoughts. First, I do suggest you look at the Diamond Club service. This comes with a butler. In our case, we got very lucky with a superb butler Dennis. He was outstanding. Very helpful. Booked restaurants, provided lots of advice and all around a friendly, helpful butler. Pros - Large beautiful resort, great beach. Lots of shade and loungers. Nice, clean pools, and amazing waterpark (in the main section). We had a beautiful swim up room. Cons - Room layout is terrible. Patio door could only be opened from outside by pushing on the glass (add a handle?). Constant hallway noise early in the AM from housekeepers. How about a shelf in the shower so you don't have to put your shaving mirron on the floor? Same with some hooks for towels, etc. Small closet was a pain. Door difficult to slide. Food. Like many AI's only so/so. Certainly palatable. Often did not have menu items from menu available with no explanation. Steaks were decent. Buffet is huge and looks amazing but loaded with mostly carbs. The Jade restaurant was never open. Everthing else is about what one would expect from an AI. Would we go back? Sure, good value, especially with children who would really enjoy the waterpark.

  It's worth it

  We really enjoyed the stay! We had some amazing staff (Yohana & Jean Paul & Varon & Sandy). The service is really great and very friendly. We had good music and really fun with the animation club. The food is excellent! Valentin is a good butler, take good care about us!
