    Worst experience ever

    WORST HOTEL EVER! RUN! Waste of money and time and energy ! unbelievably rude and unhelpful manager (Pedrito) If I can give no stars I would. This is our second day at this hotel and we are changing rooms for a second time. The first room had no remote control, the safe and elevator didn’t work and the air conditioner was making a very loud noise that I have on video, not to mention the mosquitoes and roaches. We talked to the night manager who switched us to a new room, however, the system was having issues and they couldn’t activate our bracelets for the new room. We were told to come back in the morning for the bracelets and when we did, they told us that we had to change rooms AGAIN! Pedrito was unhelpful and kept repeating the same things, somebody apparently paid more to get the room that was given to us the night before and now we have to leave it. They wasted our first evening and then first morning and he couldn’t care less. He said I could just cancel my trip and go somewhere else. I will report this to Sunwing and will warn everyone I know not to come to this place.

    Not what it used to be, but still good

    This was our second stay at this hotel after 1 year. We loved it so much the first time that we decided to return. Unfortunately the resort has lost its shine and the services have gone down. - Check-in experience this time was taken from a comedy show. After almost 1.5 hours of waiting to check in we were given the keys to our room. We arrived to our building but the elevator was broken. Our room was on the 4th floor. When we finally arrived to our room we found another family that was already in the room. Shocker!! We had to go back to the reception with our luggage and complain about the situation. There were several other families complaining about the same thing. After another one hour we were told that the room we had paid for was unavailable and for 1 night we had to stay in an inferior room. They gave us the room we paid for only the following day. - A lot of employees were on their cell phones instead of working or servicing tourists. This was a huge difference compared to only 1 year ago when I don't remember seeing that. - They closed down the fresh juicing station at the breakfast buffet. - There was no more burrata at the Italian buffet compared to last year when there was plenty. - The Hunter Steakhouse restaurant was the biggest disappointment for us. Not only they made it impossible to book on the app, but we had to wait 30 min to be seated and another 30 min to order what we needed - the waiter was in a corner on his cell phone. I was so looking forward to the beet salad - unfortunately this time it was only lettuce and beets no goat cheese and no walnuts. The steak we ordered was not chewable and the ribs were small and not the best. - The maintenance throughout the resort was in decline and other tourists we met there mentioned the same things. The elevators were not being fixed for days, the washroom near the beach had only 2 stalls available the 3rd one was not usable for our entire stay ( of 10 days!). - Another thing we noticed was there were less food parties near the pool compared to last year. - The Michael Jackson show was not as good as the one we saw last year. - There were many more vendors on the beach as well as resort people trying to sell you services compared to last year. So yes we felt like cash cows. BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE PEOPLE WHO MADE OUR STAY MORE PLEASANT: CALIXTO at the reception & CARLITZA at the beach bar. They deserve a big Christmas bonus for their efforts to make our vacation a perfect one!❤️ All in all this is still a good resort but I would not give it 5 * anymore... Maybe 4.5 *.

    Royalton Bavaro - Punta Cana, November, 2025

    A very nice resort. Love the layout with the shows/stages in the middle and the atrium surrounding it with bars, reception, etc. Lots of seating and areas for viewing the shows. We met a wonderful Server, Wendy.Yitin at the Martini Bar and she was so friendly and attentive to us, an awesome person to have on staff. A few more like her would be great!! Lots of pools and layout chairs with areas for all. We were in Bldg 16 nice room, central location in the resort. Food was average. Great family resort.

    Great time at the Royalton Boro in Punta Cana. Definitely worth upgrading to the diamond club. Adonis was a great Butler

    We stayed with the diamond club section and had room 19–133. It was an end unit with a swim out pool and was a fantastic location. We were a total group of 15 people and our butler was Adonis! He took very good care of all of us and went above and beyond to satisfy our request and needs. If you were going, I would highly recommend requesting him if you’re able to. We found that upgrading to the diamond club was definitely worth the extra cost. The lazy river was so much fun for the adults as well as the little ones. Our age grouped arranged from 75 right down to 5. The entertainment at night was great for the kids and the adults. Everyone was fully entertained the entire time we were there. We definitely would go back again in the future.

    Visit to the hotel clinic

    I just wanted to quickly share my experience of visiting the hotel clinic. I scratched my foot before going on holiday and unbeknownst to me, it got infected. The infection flared up while I was at the hotel and I visited the hotel medical clinic. The clinic is open 24 hours a day and the doctor is either in or can be quickly called from the reception desk. I was attended to by dr. Ubiera who was very friendly and spoke good English. He examined me, treated my foot and gave me an antiseptic cream which helped improve my condition within the next two days. That allowed me to enjoy the rest of our holiday.
