  Poor customer service

  The customer service here is possibly the worst I have ever experienced. I don’t think many of the staff really care about the customer experience. The guy in the gym was just always on his phone, the barmen at the beach bar basically ignored me because I hadn’t tipped them the day before. It was almost impossible to get a smile out of anyone here. Maybe there needs to a be focus here staff training. It’s also not particularly clean. Food is left in corridors from room service overnight. The Diamond Club pool is awash with cups, drinks and cigar ash. (The lifeguard told me that it’s ok for people to smoke in the middle of the pool and flick their ash in the water) We had multiple check in / issues with our room - we were promised a follow up from a customer service manager which we still haven’t received. Obviously we are still pursuing this. Booked this as Marriot Bonvoy Titanium members and were very disappointed with the standard.

  Absolutely relaxing and amazing!!!

  I love the Dominican Republic. The Royalton Bravaro is a great place to stay. Everyone was very polite,respectful and accommodating. The beach was my favorite place. The people who took care of us daily were phenomeal, Especially my favorites, who were over the top wonderful. I will call them all, my friends, forever, Marlene Rosario, Miguel Torres and Maria Mateo Vargas. They make your resort shine with their warm smiles and loving hearts.   Nice and relaxing resort

  We came back from the resort on September 13th after a great week. We were DC with a swim out. We understand reviews depend on expectations. We are in the low season and the resort was about 50-60% full according to our butler. It was our first time in this type of resort and DC, we wanted to spoil ourselves a bit this year. Pros: - Our butler, Max. We probably didn't use his services to the full extent. He booked the Rio for us for the night of our arrival (nice start), he was always available when we had requests and we had peace of mind that if we needed anything, he would be there for us. The morning after we arrived, there were wasps that built a nest on our patio overnight, it was taken care of pretty quickly. We also had nice chats throughout the week, he's a really nice guy. I would highly recommend him. -The lazy river, it was great to start the day or end the afternoon floating around, stopping by the cave bar for a drink. - The variety of options for lunch time, it was nice to have options, we tried most of the options once: buffet, room service, food truck, snack bar, DC snack bar and the coffee shop (this one is especially nice when your body starts hating the heat and doesn't want to eat too much which always happens to me after day 4-5). - Dinners: It was also nice to have a few options. We went to Rio and Hunter twice, it was very good. Went to Grazie once, it was also nice but we preferred the other two. We also went to the sports bar for some wings and a Cuban sandwich, we were the only ones there that night, we loved it. We only went to the buffet once, I have to give a shout out to the pizza guy, he was the friendliest one and made us feel welcome. - Coffee shop: great options, I loved the caramel macchiato and the Monch at night. It was also nice to have a light option for breakfast without going to the buffet. Ice cream was a must at night as it was very hot in the lobby. - Swim out, we used the swim out a lot, especially in the late afternoon and late at night. It was our first swim out experience and we would do it again. -Lobby: it was bigger than we expected, we didn't see it when we checked in, we went later that night. It's almost like a big shopping center, lots of offers and I loved the round stage in the center, you could sit in a couch and enjoy the show from any sides. - Water park: it was nice, but 3 hours is more than enough. It is quite small. There was a pond near the park that had a lot of ducks, chickens, roosters and iguanas. - Shows: the shows were good, we missed the Adele one on Saturday, after 13 hours of travelling we were too tired to be around people in the heat. We had already seen the Michael Jackson and Queen shows last year at another resort. The circus and white party were nice. The fire pre-show was the one we liked the most. - The beach was nice while we were there, it was cleaned up every day. - Hydrotherapy: this was part of the DC offers for free. We went on Friday. It was a nice way to relax before our travel the next day. The hot tub was not that hot, but it had a lot of massage "jets" and we had access to the sauna. There were also 3 shower cabins with cold water (regular shower, buckets and "jets" on the side) There were only 4 people total there, so it was not crowded. This is not a must, but a nice to try. Cons: - There weren't a lot of shadow options at the pools, not a lot of umbrellas too. - Breakfast, room service was not a success, it took an hour and a half and the meal was on the colder side. They also forgot to bring my coffee. The DC buffet was ok, but pretty much the same every day. We did appreciate that it was closer to our room than the lobby buffet. - Rio: while we loved the restaurant, the first time was a bit hectic. There was a wedding on the patio beside it the first night we went, it was impossible to hear ourselves and anyone else, the music was just too loud. We would recommend not booking it on a night when there's a wedding, just because it's not a relaxing dinner. - The resort is quite bigger than we expected, we prefer smaller resorts, that's more of a preference than con.

  10/10 Stay - Would Highly Recommend

  Absolutely fantastic holiday from start to finish made all the more special on account of the fantastic staff (special shout out to Angelo who went above and beyond to make it the most amazing holiday!!) All members of staff we encountered from start to finish were friendly, helpful and polite - Sexy Julio is the man for any excursions!! The room was immaculate and more than what we expected, all facilities are spotlessly clean, drinks were consistently high quality across all bars. Great selection of restaurants throughout - our favourite was the Brazilian Grill! The only downsides we had were the wait times even with booking at the Brazilian Grill (and how hot it was in the waiting area with lots of people packed in) however; both times we went the food was exceptional standard, and definitely worth the wait! The only downside we had of the whole holiday really was that the food in the Rui steakhouse was far below standard really. I would say it was well worth the small extra amount for diamond club - it was the smoothest most relaxed check in/check out we’ve ever had and for that alone would be worth the extra. Diamond club breakfast buffet was 10/10 - beach views every morning for breakfast were fantastic and food was consistently great. Angelo ensured from our arrival to when we left all our reservations for restaurants each day were sorted, answered any other questions we had - responses were quick and we really felt he took the time to make it as special as possible. With it being my 30th birthday my partner asked for a balloon in the room on the day as a small surprise - again, Angelo went above any beyond and the room was decorated beautifully. We had everything we needed at the hotel to not need to leave and there is sufficient amount of restaurants/bars/snack bars to spend each day somewhere different which was nice. The beach was immaculate and even though this year apparently Punta Cana has seen a record amount of seaweed on the beaches, there was a tractor out each morning around 5/530am clearing it all so it wasn’t something that impacted us at all. The entertainment was great - our favourites being the circus, the white party on the beach, fire show and live rock music. Plenty to do for adults only or couples with children. Sexy Julio was the man organising our trip out to the adventure park (again, 10/10 experience) - fantastic discount, lovely guy who we chatted too several times throughout the holiday and another staff member that went above and beyond. Would recommend to anyone visiting and will certainly return in future!!
