  Great for families

  We've been to Punta Cana many times. This resort was nice, clean, and staff was friendly and helpful. The resort grounds are beautiful. Well kept. Check-in was easy. Rooms were fine and clean...no issues. If you are staying closer to the beach, you'll have quite a walk to the restaurants and lobby. No issue for us but just want to note that for others. Restaurants/food was average. Nothing new for all inclusive resorts. They do need additional staff to wait on customers. We waited way to long too many times for water/drinks/refills during meals. The various pools are nice. This is a family resort...LOTS of children. One pool has a pool bar (and with kids). Get there early to get your chairs. Lazy river is a nice feature with a bar...very cool. We specifically booked this resort for the Flowrider which was not working during our stay. Very disappointing. The beach is beautiful BUT the chairs and palapas are waaaay to close together. Very tightly packed. Didn't care for that. Again, get there early (by 7:30) to claim your chairs! The casino was fun. The entertainment was good every night. The bars are great. There are lots of options for your family. I would not recommend this resort for couples. This is 100% a family resort. Very crowded when we visited. Everyone was friendly...other travelers and the resort staff. Overall we had a good experience.

  Great place, thanks again to our amazing butler Gerlyn

  We loved our time at Royalton Bavaro, especially because of our butler Gerlyn! He took care of everything for us! The restaurants were really good, the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The white party was also very nice to go to! As for the room, it was very clean, and the amenities were great. I recommend going there as it is such a nice place!

  Things have changed

  I'm a repeat customer, i used to recommend this hotel to everyone and had been there back to back years up until 3 years ago. We just came back from my son's birthday trip 11/16-11/22 and while the facilities are the same and the old employees are just as wonderful I noticed something troubling this time around and something i never felt before and all i can blame this on is management! It took me 3 days to get a do not disturb sign i had requested, ordered room service that never came, the reservation system through the app is a hot mess, got ignored at bars and sat there choking on food waiting for a cup of juice, i had to bring towels to my mom's room so she could shower because they never came with the towels she asked for, i ordered hangers at 5:30 pm and they came at 11:30 and woke me to give them to me (remember I didn't have the sign to let them know i was asleep), When we submitted a formal complaint at guess services we were told to see a manager we'd have to wait for him to call us and the call never came. When my mom somehow found him and explained everything, she was told they would let her know the next day what the resolution was and here we are a week later and the resolution stayed with the towels my mom never got. And the most concerning part was the guest service representatives predatory practices to get me to go to a timeshare presentation, every time we had an issue they claimed they wouldn't be able to help but if we went to that "breakfast" maybe they'd be able to do something about it, they would chase us, offer spa services and "special prices" and it was so intense to the point i would hide from them if i saw they were sitting close by and this never happened any other time i travelled here. This place felt like a home away from home, i got married here and had some of my best memories, and greedy management has ruined it and even though I managed to have a good time thanks to some amazing employees (menquis you are absolutely wonderful and our vacation would've been ruined without you) we will sadly not be coming back to a place i once called home. I know this will fall on deaf ears because they showed us there management doesn't care about anything but the amount of money they can squeeze out of us but i had to leave this review because it can maybe keep one person from going through all this headache after spending thousands of dollars to go on vacation.

  Best Vacation Ever

  My family & I just went to the Royalton Bavaro Resort, it was our first time to the Dominican & boy did we love our stay there, we stayed in a standard room with the swim out pool option & it was an awesome experience, there are endless things to do there, lazy river, flow rider, the beach & the water is so warm it was amazing, we did 2 excursions that left us with memories we will have for the rest of our lives, monkey land & Catalina island were top notch. One thing I must say is the service there is second to none, everyone is so friendly & hospitable, from our personal concierge Yaquie who met us there when we arrived & carted us up to our room & booked our restaurant reservations for us & always asked if we needed anything more, always met us with a smile & said “Hey you my people”, to the servers that were always there when you needed something & our personal yoga/pilates instructors Juan & Cesar who were great instructors & made sure everyone wasn’t feeling pressured to go beyond their limitations, truly a 10/10 vacay & we will definitely be going back not only to the Dominican but to this Awesome resort !!

  Great Vacation, But First Floor Is a No for Me

  My husband and I just got back from a week at the Royalton Bávaro. We arrived around 7pm and the swim-out room we paid for wasn’t ready, so they put us in a temporary family suite on the 2nd floor. We aren’t picky, but the room had an empty fridge, no robes or towels, and the door latch was completely broken. We just made do for the night. The next day we moved to our swim-out in Block 19, which was great—until the last night (getting to that below). The beach was amazing. No seaweed in front of the resort, and the water was warm and perfect for floating. The resort itself is beautiful, and yes, you’ll get your steps in walking from the lobby to the beach but after all the drinks, we needed it! Bars were great, service was fast, and the café lounge became a daily (sometimes twice-daily) stop. I booked all our restaurant reservations through the app with no issues except for Hunter, which the front desk booked for me easily. We tried all the restaurants, our favorites were Zen and Hunter. Rio was a bit salty for our taste, but overall the food was very good. The sports bar was great, and room service came in handy twice. There are tons of pools, from quiet to lively, and the lazy river was so much fun (loved the bar in there too). Now the room… The swim-out was clean and perfect, and we used it often. But I don’t think I’ll ever stay on the first floor again. On our last night, I turned the light on to go to the bathroom and saw the biggest cockroach run under the bed. I screamed, my husband came to save me, and of course it disappeared. I slept with every light on until morning. I know it’s the tropics, but… eww. Overall, it was an amazing trip!
