  Don’t stay there

  We had to switch rooms several times due to no air conditioning. The management was very hard to reach ie took all day of me chasing them not the other way around. The last room they gave us had a balcony door that did not close properly and had an insecure closing mechanism. The sofa was ripped and stained and had a bed sheet covering in. I have sent letter email to the management and absolutely no reply. There are 2 restaurants to avoid. The Japanese and the hunter steak. At the steak restaurant they brought the appetizer and main all together after making you wait so long and the food was cold and dry so we sent it back and ended up going to the only place opening the all you can eat cafeteria style which is not how I like to dine in the evenings. The wait staff is unprofessional too.

  Disappointed

  Very disappointing experience at Royalton Bavaro. This was actually our second negative experience (we previously visited on a day pass last year), and unfortunately nothing has improved. Service was inconsistent and poorly coordinated across departments. Communication between staff seemed lacking, and basic guest service standards were not met for what is marketed as a luxury resort. Rooms felt dated, restaurant quality was uneven, and responsiveness was below expectations. The most concerning issue occurred at checkout, where I was incorrectly accused of authorizing a beach “Bali Bed” charge supported by a receipt clearly bearing another person’s name and a signature that was not mine. This should never happen in a properly managed operation. This goes beyond language barriers — it reflects training, accountability, and service culture issues. There is significant room for improvement. We will not be returning.

  Worst vacation

  I just got back from what was supposed to be a relaxing all-inclusive vacation at this resort, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, everything went wrong, and I regret every penny spent. If you’re thinking about booking here, cancel those plans immediately—this place is a scam that will ruin your trip and leave you furious. The “all-inclusive” promise is a blatant lie. They didn’t charge us extra for add-ons after we checked in, but they hit us with surprise fees right at check-in for the room itself. What kind of all-inclusive resort charges extra just for the basic accommodation? It felt like false advertising from the get-go, turning our arrival into an immediate argument over hidden costs that weren’t mentioned in the booking. We ended up paying way more than expected, and it set a sour tone for the entire stay. The food was an absolute travesty—terrible doesn’t even cover it. Every meal was a disappointment: soggy, flavorless mush that seemed like it was scraped from the bottom of a dumpster. The buffet options were limited to overcooked meats, limp vegetables, and stale bread, with no variety or quality in sight. I tried the a la carte spots hoping for better, but they served the same garbage with slower service. One night, I couldn’t even finish my plate without feeling queasy. If you’re a foodie, or just someone who likes edible meals, steer clear—you’ll starve or get sick. The staff? Hands down the rudest, most unprofessional bunch I’ve ever dealt with in all my travels. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like inconveniences rather than guests. Requests for simple things like directions or extra pillows were met with eye rolls, grunts, or flat-out ignorance. One housekeeper snapped at us for asking about cleaning schedules, and the bar staff acted like pouring a drink was a massive favor. It was shocking how consistently hostile everyone was—no smiles, no helpfulness, just attitude. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a place that’s supposed to be hospitable. The rooms were downright filthy and unacceptable for any price point. Ours looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks: dirty linens with mysterious stains, grime in the corners, and a musty smell that permeated everything. The bathroom was a horror show with mold around the tiles and a shower that barely worked. We reported issues multiple times, but nothing was fixed—housekeeping was a joke, showing up late or not at all. Sleeping there felt like roughing it in a cheap motel, not lounging in a resort. Check-in and check-out were pure chaos and incompetence. Check-in took forever with long lines, confused staff who couldn’t find our reservation, and that surprise room upcharge that started the whole mess. Check-out was even worse: more delays, arguments over the bill, and rude dismissals when we questioned charges. It was so disorganized that we nearly missed our transportation home. What a way to bookend a terrible experience! In summary, this resort is a complete waste of time and money. Dirty rooms, awful food, horrendous staff, and deceptive pricing make it the worst vacation spot imaginable. Do not go here zero recommendations, and I wish I could get a refund for the misery. Stay far, far away!

  Wedding of my dreams

  I had my wedding at the Royalton Bavaro and it was magical. The staff the grounds and everything was so pretty. The drinks were definitely goodand strong. The food was great so many options but the best part of this resort is the staff Anthony was our butler for the week and he went above and beyond for anything I needed. He always checked on me and had the best attitude and positive spirit Briagna was wedding coordinator and you would’ve thought she was part of our family, her spirit and dedication to making sure my wedding was the best day of mylife. She kept me calm. She kept me updated on everything that was going on. She even called me the morning to tell me the weather anythingI wanted she and her team made it happen with a smile. We had a group of 45 and everyone in my family had a wonderfulexperience with the staff.

  BEST VACATION EVER!!!

  Our stay at Royalton Bavaro was nothing short of spectacular — a true 5-star experience from beginning to end! The cleanliness throughout the entire resort was impeccable. Every space, from our room to the restaurants to the pool areas, was spotless and beautifully maintained. The beach was absolutely breathtaking — powdery white sand, crystal-clear water, and views that looked like they belonged on a postcard. Waking up to that scenery every day was unforgettable. What truly set this trip apart, though, was the outstanding service. We have to give a very special thank you to Miguel Ramirez. He went above and beyond for us long before we even arrived. Miguel patiently answered all of my questions, helped coordinate transportation, secured restaurant reservations, and even assisted in setting up an incredibly special surprise for my 50th birthday. His attention to detail and genuine care made everything seamless and stress-free. By the time we arrived, we already felt taken care of. Not only did he ensure we all were having an amazing time, I gained a new friend from this as well, and will continue to keep in contact. The food was fantastic! Every meal exceeded our expectations, with plenty of variety and delicious options. Best of all, we never had to wait in line for food or drinks. Everything was smooth, efficient, and incredibly well organized. Once at the resort, Raudy and Reimy quickly became our favorite servers. They were attentive, fast, and always brought our drinks back with a smile before we even had to ask. More than that, they made us feel like family. Their warmth and energy truly elevated our experience every single day. We miss them already, and as well, we gained a like long friendship. For excursions, Lucky and Markus were by far top-notch. Markus’s vibe was like no other — from the moment we met, it felt like we had known them for years. They made everything fun, easy, and memorable while ensuring we were comfortable and taken care of the entire time. They also stopped by every time they saw us and remembered our names and made our vacation amazing. AS other's we gained lifelong friendship! From the stunning beach and views to the flawless cleanliness and world-class service, Royalton Bavaro exceeded every expectation. All of these things plus many, many more are the reasons we will definitely be back. We cannot wait to return and see our Dominican Family— this was a birthday celebration we will never forget! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
