  Workers are polite and funny for example When we first came the works put our luggage’s in diamond club and told us to go to the front and made us wait in line for 2 hours and then when it got to our turn, they said that we are in diamond club and cannot help us there and they took us to another place to get checked in. The quality of food. if you wanted seafood it was very limited and if you wanted to eat lobster it was extra 60$ and then 1 minute later they say they don’t have. The good thing is that there is little wait time and isn’t over crowded. Eduardo our butler was very helpful and make everything smooth.

  Fun Times at Royalton

  Our family had a fantastic trip. Great food for all preferences. Pools for kids and adults. Lazy river was great. One of the highlights was the assistance from our butler Ryan who went out of his way to book our dinners, assist us planning an excursion, notifying us of fun events for the kids and more. Lastly, Ryan assisted us in finding contact information for one of our excursions because we lost our receipt for the pictures. He helped resolved this after our vacation was over, which went above and beyond his job description.

  Very Poorly Managed

  The resort itself has some nice aspects but is very poorly managed bringing it way down. Part of the shower floor was out of place and dirty. It was alarming to know they didn’t care to take care of that before presenting the room to us. We had to ask for basic things that should’ve been standard only to be blown off most of the time being told someone was on the way and never coming! Some of the employees working at the front desk are very unfriendly and a lot of the workers don’t smile or speak. I’ve visited a lot of all inclusive establishments and the food there was the poorest quality I’ve ever had. I literally watched the bring out a new pan of hash browns that were cold. Even restaurants you order from bring food to you cold. I looked forward to going to the airport and paying for a decent meal. They advertised a “resort credit” with my stay which was only a book of discount coupons (for the spa etc) in which they made me wait until the day before I checked out to receive. The resort is very unorganized. I would not stay there again. The pools are nice and the lazy river is the best so I give it 2 stars.

  Mixed review

  Common areas were generally well kept and nice. The beach was large, although the beach chairs were tightly packed to fit a lot of people. There were multiple pools, including a cute kiddie pool. Our 6 year old especially enjoyed all the water slides along the lazy river. Buffets offered a solid variety of options, including vegetarian; it was in line with what I expect of a mid tier all inclusive. If ordering from on-the-beach restaurants, order well in advance; we once waited almost 2 hours for two small pizzas. Staff was generally friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Ennson- the bellman when we arrived who welcomed us warmly, took us to our room and gave us an initial overview of things. On the downside, housekeeping was hard to reach by phone and often slow to respond to our requests (perhaps understaffed). Our biggest complaint was the sleeping room. We were in building 16 . The faulty fire alarm goes off on the middle of the night a few times a week; it happened 2 out of the 3 nights we were there. Our room was a little run down and needed renovating. It also had a musky/wet smell we couldn’t get rid of. The air conditioning didn’t respond to the thermostat setting; so we either had to leave it on and be freezing or turn it off and deal with humidity. Not sure if our room/building were the exception or if others have similar issues but it’s enough to make us hesitate to return.

  Nice hotel, lacking attention to detail and very tip orientated staff.

  Lovely hotel, though some little areas need some attention like tiles in pools, thing broken in rooms. Drains do sometimes smell strong in room but nothing too awful. Same in other hotels we stayed at in dominican. Loads of choice in buffet, although luke warm tasty. Takes a long while waiting to get it fresh...particularly the pasta section. Speciality restaurants good, again sometimes wait 45-90mins for food!!! Butlers in diamond club, definitely ask for Darleny, a credit to the hotel! Lovely personality and couldn't do enough to help you. Unfortunately only had the pleasure for 3days as the first 3days we had a lazy butler called max who didn't wnat to do anything for us and lied to us about the restaurant bookings. He was very elusive in nature for the first 3 days!! Overall a good experience.
