  Great Vacation, But First Floor Is a No for Me

  My husband and I just got back from a week at the Royalton Bávaro. We arrived around 7pm and the swim-out room we paid for wasn’t ready, so they put us in a temporary family suite on the 2nd floor. We aren’t picky, but the room had an empty fridge, no robes or towels, and the door latch was completely broken. We just made do for the night. The next day we moved to our swim-out in Block 19, which was great—until the last night (getting to that below). The beach was amazing. No seaweed in front of the resort, and the water was warm and perfect for floating. The resort itself is beautiful, and yes, you’ll get your steps in walking from the lobby to the beach but after all the drinks, we needed it! Bars were great, service was fast, and the café lounge became a daily (sometimes twice-daily) stop. I booked all our restaurant reservations through the app with no issues except for Hunter, which the front desk booked for me easily. We tried all the restaurants, our favorites were Zen and Hunter. Rio was a bit salty for our taste, but overall the food was very good. The sports bar was great, and room service came in handy twice. There are tons of pools, from quiet to lively, and the lazy river was so much fun (loved the bar in there too). Now the room… The swim-out was clean and perfect, and we used it often. But I don’t think I’ll ever stay on the first floor again. On our last night, I turned the light on to go to the bathroom and saw the biggest cockroach run under the bed. I screamed, my husband came to save me, and of course it disappeared. I slept with every light on until morning. I know it’s the tropics, but… eww. Overall, it was an amazing trip!

  Would Go Back Yesterday!

  We stayed Diamond Club Presidential suite and overall had a fantastic stay. The room was immaculate and housekeeping kept up with us every day. Our fridges were always restocked and we never needed to ask for anything extra. Diamond club was absolutely worth the upgrade for us with a 6 year old. Little to no wait for drinks. Quieter, and more relaxed pool. We also had a fantastic butler (Joel) and concierge (Lucero) who made our stay very welcoming. The beach was kept pristine and we really enjoyed the waves. Bring a life jacket if your little ones arent strong swimmers. The waves are strong. As for food, we found something good to eat every day and with a picky kid that is saying something. No one was ever left hungry. Staff is lovely so long as you are lovely with them, which we always are. A couple dollars and some kindness go a long way with the staff to show appreciation. Nightly Entertainment was the only thing I wasnt really in love with. Alot of cover band type acts. It was fine but we enjoyed the shows (circus, fire) more. The white party was fun! Daytime entertainment was nice for the kids and the lazy river and kids splash area is more than enough for afternoon entertainment. I recommend bringing a floatie but if you dont, people checking out are giving them away daily. Overall, we would absolutely return.

  Took us almost two ours to check in. Lots of time we had to ask for water, drinks etc, while dining at Zen

  Very slow check in. Poor service over all, most of the staff doesn’t seem happy. Rooms are not cleaned properly. Not vacuumed, most times

  Great vacation, great resort!!!!

  We had an amazing time at the Royalton Bavaro. Our butler Jorge Mata was awesome, he made sure we had reservations at a different restaurant every night and was great about working around our schedule. We would definitely go back and have Jorge Mata as our butler again.

  Fun, relaxing couples vacation

  Our group of 8 was looking for a relaxing vacation and this place delivered! From our arrival to our departure, we were taken care of by all the staff we encountered. Our butler, Jorge Mata, was extraordinary! He made sure we were set up well in our rooms, set up at the pool and the beach with Bladimir, set up with reservations for supper every night, and made suggestions to enhance our experience all throughout our stay. We experienced exceptional hospitality and were made to feel like part of a larger extended family who take care and have fun with each other. The rooms were clean and comfortable, refrigerator always well stocked and plenty of clean towels. Atmosphere was friendly and we felt completely safe. We would definitely recommend everything about Royalton Bavaro, Punta Cana!
