Dec 24, 2025The best Birthday/Christmas experience "girls" could have!
We went to the Domican Republic resort Royalton Bavaro. It is a lovely place to stay. Our rooms are swim out rooms which allowed us to walk out and get in the water to enjoy the late afternoon before getting ready for the evening. Everything in the resort was spotlessly clean. Our Butler, Adonis, was a true gem. He got us perfect dinner reservations. He set up a surprise birthday celebration at one of our dinners. He personally decorated the birthday girl's room...what a super pleasant surprise! When we needed to change a room...he took care of it Pronto. And he helped us get our transportation when leaving our December-warm -weather-adventure. I don't believe we would have had the super great time we had without his taking care of us. We are very greatful!!! Also, we are so looking forward to another adventure because of the standard Adonis set.

Ignore the bad reviews. This place is great! It is what you make it. Jesus (Bulter) was great to work with. I highly recommend him. Bartenders were amazing too. Place was clean and everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend the Monkey Experience. We will be coming back!

Adonis is the best!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Royalton Bávaro Resort. The grounds were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach and numerous pools, especially the swim-up pool at our room. Overall it was a lovely trip, but what really made it great was our butler Adonis. He went above and beyond to make our stay special. He helped with all our dinner reservations and everything we needed on our trip, even setting up a special birthday celebration for my mother after dinner one night, and decorating her room. This trip was to celebrate her 70th birthday and he ensured it was a wonderful and memorable time.

Bad This hotel feels old and poorly maintained. The elevator was not working, which made getting around very inconvenient. The jacuzzi had cold water, so it wasn’t usable at all. It was also nearly impossible to make dinner reservations, even though we were staying on the property. The air conditioning in the room did not work properly, making the room uncomfortable, especially at night. The lazy river barely moves, so it’s not really a lazy river experience. On top of that, staff constantly tried to sell upgrades and extras, which became annoying and took away from the idea of a relaxing vacation. Additionally, workout classes are not included and require an extra fee, which was disappointing. Access to the sister hotel’s Splash water park also requires additional payment, even for guests staying at this resort. Unfortunately, the staff attitude was often grumpy and unhelpful, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, this hotel does not match expectations and needs significant maintenance, clearer inclusions, and better service before I would consider returning.

Fantastic
Adonis was our first point of call with any issues we had during our stay. He made sure our holiday went smoothly and was a great help. Offered to help and assistance on my wedding day without an ask. Booked our chosen restaurants. Ensured fridges were restocked as sometimes this was missed.
