  Royalton needs work

  It’s a very nice property, the beach is great. The rooms were a nice size, The Buffet is fine, selection is ok, Dinner is better than lunch. Lunch has a lot of processed meat, hotdogs, burgers. Dinner is a bit better selection, but not much. As i write this i have been to the steakhouse a la carte twice, the steak was very tough. The beet salad, had no taste, the onion rings are cold. The food as a whole is ok, a bit on the poor side of things. The place regularly runs out of the basics, the coffee shop runs out of milk, there are regular shortages of alcohol. The staff in a lot of ways don’t appear to care, absolutely not all of them, but some. The management team are responsible and all evidence suggests they either don’t care or are incompetent. The sad part is that lots of this is easy fix. But as a destination Antigua is fab, well worth it.

  DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

  If I could give them a 0 star I would! I have been trying for 3 months now to recieve a refund for a double charge. The Royalton charged me on their website and when I got to the hotel they said they hadn’t received a payment. So I pulled up my credit card information showing they charged me under blue diamond hotels. They said they needed a physical receipt which I couldn’t provide. They charged me again on my discover and td debit. After this I see on my statement that it was charged under Aurora Borealis Ltd. I have tried over 10 times to reach them and have sent emails as well. The manager Mandy was supposed to reach out to me and I just feel that I was scammed. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL DOUBLE CHARGE YOU AND NOT HELP YOU AT ALL. On top of this because of the two different names they charged me under my two credit cards @barclaycardus and @discover barclaycard us won’t even help me. I even reached out to Frederick Sengewitz and got no response, till this day! Still awaiting an update.

  Fantastic Half Term week for the whole family

  Wasn't sure what to expect after seeing the Trip Advisor rating, but is was a brilliant week. The hotel was great, service mostly great and food was amazing- esp silly in the buffet. The grilled meat counter was unbelievable. Sun loungers were good, the beach clean and our room was clean and we had more fresh towels than we needed everyday- both in the room and at the beach (which hasn't been our experience at other hotels in the Caribbean). I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely visit again.

  Great hotel, excellent service

  The overall hotel could do with a little refinement, in terms of cleanliness at the bar area by the pool, and general building and room maintenance. Bits of the bathroom were chipping away, and the lock didn’t work properly to the toilet. Having said that, the staff and service was incredible. Daily room cleaning was incredible, the restaurants had varied choices, and lots of entertainment and things to do. If it could pay attention to details, then other resorts should watch out! Generally a pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone. Special mention to Beverly who worked at the Steakhouse restaurant. She had a great vibrancy and work ethic, made sure we were attended to and happy all the time during dinner. Royalton staff are lucky to have someone like her. Richard and James

  Please try it for yourself, we had a great time!!

  Well.. my first advice is please experience it for yourself.. having read reviews I was so worried but wow I’m glad I threw caution to the wind as it’s been one of the best holidays I have had! We chose the diamond club offering and it did not disappoint, our butlers Emerson and dymond.. from check in to check out was more than I could have expected. We travelled as a family with friends, from case unpacking, gifts in room, restaurant bookings nothing was too much trouble. To be balanced while there as with any holiday minor things that don’t go to plan or meet your needs, if you just say and are polite it’s fixed promptly and with a level of customer service that’s exceptionally well executed. The food is of good quality, the rooms are clean and well serviced, the staff are on the majority happy and attentive, and I say that because I’m honestly was at times shocked by the way people think it is ok to talk to them, there was more chance of the odd person ruining your holiday from their moaning than anyone that works here. You will hear people saying they ran out of premium spirits but there was a minority who just wanted it all and consumption by them meant the occasional supply issue, which I will say was fixed quickly! It’s a beautiful location, we used the spa, and booked a fantastic excursion and they helped us book two restaurants outside of the resort which were amazing, they get you amazing transport and ensure you are checked out and back in safely. We celebrated by husbands 50th and it was like a birthday that lasted 9 days! My final words.. we had the best time ever and while I know some had teething issues all I then spoke to had a great time, come and see for yourself and I think you will be pleased with your beautiful stay in this beautiful resort in Antigua
