  7 days Royalton Antigua vacation in December 2025

  One of the best locations in Caribbean. We usually go twice a year to Caribbean resorts and mostly interested in the clean beach, white sand and crystal-clear quiet water. This was our first time in Antigua and we were not disappointed. One of the best quiet and beautiful, picturesque settings surrounded this Deep Bay beach which is less than half a mile long. Royalton property was also very clean, with the enough stoned (cool even on the sun that could walk barefooted) paths to walk, especially beautiful at night with lights and quiet music. We felt very safe, no one bothered us on the beach, no locals, no other hotel guests. We felt like we are on the island with our private beach. Only Royalton is on this small beach surrounded by large hills. There are plenty of Umbrellas and where to lay down. The huge plus - no need to show room key for towels, you can have as many towels as you like. Another plus - room key is on your wrist - no worries to lose it or keep it in your pocket. Room is ok, nothing fancy or extra but very clean. I like to have a quiet room so for that definitely recommend avoiding ocean view (and pay extra) but instead ask for the room "garden view" which is actually facing a very high green hill. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member - Vanessa was very helpful and I could text her any time. Also, you may get points for your stay which is an extra bonus :-) The only thing what was not great - dining experience. The first couple of days Buffet was limited with choices. For example, I like tomatoes but there were no tomatoes at all but it improved with the variety each day even having Ox Tails one night. The restaurants were not impressive , much space to improve their quality and assortments. we tried Italian and Caribbean but decided to stick to buffet. All in all, it was a great vacation, and we didn't want to leave.

  Staff went above to make our stay comfortable

  The resort had everything we needed. Our butlers coco and Brandon were so attentive and took care of everything we needed. They made sure to reach out daily to work on reservations at restaurants, romantic beach dinner for the couple in our group, and even arranged us to meet with the head chef at the resort to discuss our Halaal meat requirement which they accommodated. Chef almonte made sure to have Halaal meat for us everyday. He sent a person to the market to ensure we had lamb chops. Ribeye and chicken and personally met us at each restaurant to prepare our food the way we liked. He went above and beyond. All three of the above mentioned staff members deserve a raise!!! I would return because of the special treatment form the above people! Thanks

  Great Location with Great Views BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE is HORRIBLE!!

  I went with my husband and daughter - 3 adults total. We visited between Dec 13-20 2025. Here are pros and cons: I will start with some pros first. Great location. Great views, great winter escape for a week and water is just amazing everywhere! Beach chairs and towels are just so easy to grab any time of the day! Hunter ala carte was our favourite followed by Grazie, Italian restaurant. LOVED the bracelets that are also your room keys so definitely one less thing to worry about. Beach towels are plenty and always readily available. Cafe/ice cream parlor is GREAT with great coffee selections available both cold and hot including lovely fruit smoothies. Our room was located in building 10 on the 4th floor and the view from our room was just breathtaking. We had a great "Bay view" with partial Ocean view. Pillows, bed was comfortable and we had great night sleep. Water pressure in the room shower is great. Unlike some other resorts, there was nice hot water in the shower. AC in the room worked great and was very effective. Fridge in the room was well stocked (although we didn't end up using it). Plenty of bottled water was available in the room and everywhere in the resort. Royalton Fit is GREAT!! Gym is small but enough....we used it 5 out of 7 days stay. Aqua fit class at 11:30 am everyday was wonderful too. Food truck during lunch time is a nice addition for folks who just want a quick bite to eat while at the beach/pool area. Here are the cons and experiences that we would like to forget quickly: Biggest con for me is their level of Customer service all over the resort!! Staff have NO SMILE and LACK BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS!!! This is surely NOT a 5 star resort based on their customer service and Sunwing need to STOP advertising this property as a 5-star! Resort Management is non-existent and USELESS!! Our check in was SLOW and PATHETIC. And to make things worse, we were assigned incorrect room type for our first night. We paid for a "Bay view" with 2 seperate beds for 3 adults BUT were assigned an ugly room in building 11 overlooking gym building with 1 bed!! Thankfully we got this corrected the next day but it was such a hassle which we should NOT have to deal with had their front desk done their job correctly to begin with. There was NO apology, no sorry for any inconvenience!! Pure shameless! The welcome drink was a joke!! So disgusting. Caribbean restaurant was the WORST!!! The unfriendly waitress and staff at this restaurant just spoiled our mood and vibe! Front desk is absolutely TERRIBLE and USELESS !! Our passengers from sunwing had the worst check in possible….slow and just painful after a long flight! Front desk staff have no clue what they are doing. I asked them about pick up time and they shoved me to talk to concierge. Then i asked where do i store my luggage in the interim until my pick up and she one again delegated to concierge…..just pure lazy!!! Nightly entertainment is a JOKE! Very immature and just not what a 5 Star property should be having. We have stayed at other 5 star properties in the past 20+ all inclusives we have stayed at (Jamaica, Aruba, DR, Cuba, Mexico, Bahamas) and this was the WORST nightly entertainment ever! I would like to give a shout out to just couple of staff who stood out for us amongst a BIG GROUP of really unfriendly, unprofessional staff. Beverly at the main buffet (an older lady) was GREAT - atleast she had a smile on her face. Saritha at the Score Sports Bar during lunch service and she also does buffet service in the morning was a STAR!! She was attentive and atleast showed she cared. Melissa at the Martini bar was friendly and atleast SMILED!! Andrae at the Italian restaurant was good and there was another girl at the Italian (I forgot her name) but it started with R...she was friendly too. Unfortunately Royalton Antigua is surely not somewhere we would EVER COME BACK AGAIN!!

  Royalton not so Royal

  This was our third stay at a Royalton resort, and unfortunately the overall experience did not meet our expectations. Pros • Beautiful beach and good snorkelling • Clean rooms and grounds • Jerk chicken and appetizers • Coffee shop • Leston’s drinks at the sports bar Cons • Disorganized check-in process • Main dishes at the à la carte restaurants • Limited drink options and inconsistent drink quality • Limited buffet selection • Lack of engaging daily activities Overall, many of the staff appeared unhappy, and it was difficult to receive consistently good service. A special thank you to Richardo for going out of his way to find a bottle of Canadian Club. With more engaged, friendly staff and improved service, this resort has the potential to be excellent.

  Great vacation

  We really enjoyed our stay at Royalton Antigua. Food was pretty good. Service was good as well. The beach was gorgeous! Not much to do with teenagers but they enjoyed pickle ball and jet skis. We will be back.
