What We Love
- Grace Bay Beach is the real star at this resort.
- The complimentary bicycles and ocean kayaks make family fun easy!
Things to Know
- The resort offers kitchenettes and even full kitchens in select rooms, so families with an eye on the budget can enjoy paradise without breaking the bank.
Chill out at 1 of 2 free-form pools, reminiscent of a hidden tropical swimming hole, surrounded by thick foliage and shrubbery. For more relaxation, claim your spot in the spa tub in the adult pool. Or, stroll on down to Grace Bay Beach where 12 miles of soft, white sand overlooking serene waters offers the perfect afternoon of sun and surf. Your inner child will thank you if you throw off adult decorum for a while and go all out in the ocean with the complimentary Hobie cats, kayaks or snorkeling gear.
When you are wonderfully exhausted head over to Pelican Bay Restaurant and let a delicious bowl of conch chowder revive you. This unique restaurant features both air-conditioned seating and an open-air terrace where the smell of grilled fish gently wafts on the ocean breeze. Evenings bring live music and special events for a bit of festivity.
For the ultimate vacation pampering, we recommend a treatment or two at Spa Tropique. The full service spa is available for a wide range of indulgences, including the popular Hydro Boost Mask. Perhaps the best indulgence at the resort though, is the opportunity to do nothing but sit on your private balcony, drinking coffee and watching the colors of the sun dance across the still waters. Along with those private spaces, all guest rooms at the resort have mini kitchens, washers and dryers and flat-screen TVs.
Because it sits right in the middle of Grace Bay, the resort is a great base for exploring the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands. Let the friendly staff help you book a snorkeling or fishing trip. Or, if you want an underworld adventure without the water, spend a day exploring the Middle Caicos Caves, where Mother Nature has used limestone to create incredible, natural beauty.

Like staying in paradise
This was our third trip to Turks, our first time staying at RWI...I don’t think we will stay anywhere else! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the grounds are of botanic garden quality and our suite was well appointed and very clean. Special shout out to the beach attendants Enoc and Eddy.
We love RWI
We have been to RWI six times and we love it! The location, the staff, & the beautiful grounds keep us coming back. We found Bert, the bartender, always personable and friendly (contradicting one of the previous reviewers) ~ we enjoy his company! Y-Jay and O’Neill are also favorites of ours.
Royal West Indies is a very clean well kept property. It is on beautiful Grace Bay in one of the best spots on the bay! It’s close to Grace Way Grocery store. Nice friendly staff. Meeting Sherman is a must. Property owners are friendly and helpful. Bikes are available for exploring the island. Beach has nice umbrellas and chase lounges.
We booked a 2 bedroom condo and in actual fact it was a one bedroom condo with an attached (via a foyer) studio. This worked out well for us, as 2 sisters shared the condo and the 3rd person had the separate studio. However, I could see how this could be an issue for families with young children. The grounds were lovely and there was a nice restaurant/bar on premise that had good food at reasonable prices. But, the staff gave the impression they were not happy to be working there and the service was extremely slow. (However, Guion & Joel who were working on the weekend were very pleasant and our meal arrived much quicker). Lastly, this was my 4th trip to Turks but first at RWI and this time I was bitten a significant amount of times, primarily around the feet and ankles. Not sure if this was Noseeums, or something else and where I got them. But never had this issue before.
Mostly wonderful again
9th year in Turks and 8th at RWI. Wish I could give all 5 stars but for some nasty employees. Bert the bartender needs a new job (not dealing with people) What a unhappy guy. Stopped going to the bar when he was working. The front desk was hot or cold, no in between. Now the good news. Starting with Sherman the "doorman". Great person who always is smiling and wishing you a great day. The beach crew, Eddie, Francois and Russell were always at the ready and made your day. Very accommodating . Milah at the underrated restaurant was also great and made sure you were satisfied with everything at Pelican Bay ( the on sight restaurant). Marcus and Lano were outstanding bartenders and made "Happy Hour" worth going to nightly. Beautiful grounds, best beach location, best Happy Hour and reasonably priced (for T & C anyways). Small but perfect pool (even has a "Quiet Pool) for peace and hangovers. Will keep going back if things stay the same (and maybe if Bert has a new vocation).
