Feb 05, 2026Amazing staff, but watch out for garbage fees.
$40/ for self parking and $40/ "resort fee" taken out of $100/day incidentals hold. +taxes, this adds another 100 bucks per day to the trip thats not clear when you book. Bait and switch. Staff is great. Restaurant food is meh.

Amazing! The service, food, Luau, cleanliness, maintenance, scenery was perfect! Everyone is super friendly and willing to help Would recommend this resort every time!

Nice, Clean, slower pace, older hawaiian feel
This is our second stay at the royal Lahaina. We like that is an older more traditional hotel. A little slower pace than the larger hotel chains. Seems to have that older Hawaiian feel. Rooms are nice with a wooden closets and drawers, walk in shower. Not fancy but well maintained! Right on a nice beach, with snorkeling close by. We will go back again

We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort and Bungalows in January and were very disappointed. First problem; we had an Ocean View reservation and the room overlooked the golf course. Oh, we could go out on the balcony, turn to the right, and see some little bit of ocean, so technically... With some negotiation, we were moved to a room with an actual view of the ocean from the room, and of the parking lot. It was very musty smelling and I don't think the carpets throughout have been deep cleaned or replaced since the Clinton administration. The daily non-negotiable resort fees of $45.00 a day gets you some sunscreen, Wi-Fi, and beach towels. Beach chairs and/or umbrellas would cost you more. Although we knew Hawaii would be expensive, the prices for food at this hotel are through the roof and the meals themselves no better than OK. $40.00 per day for SELF parking was another insult. Basically, this resort demands a lot and provides little. Great water pressure though.
