    Everything and More

My wife and I have been to US Virgin Islands but decided for our 40th anniversary we’d try a British Island and chose Virgin Gorda. After a little research I found a BVI travel site and the very helpful and friendly agent I went through steered us to Rosewood Little Dix Bay. The location and amenities looked great. As it turns out, great is an understatement. Beginning with transportation from Tortola to being greeted by our “butlers” on the dock - everything exceed our expectations. Neil and Mikel, our assigned butlers, weren’t just helpful and attentive, theyre two of the nicest guys you could meet. We shared with them how we like to vacation and that we’re not “touristy” people. They got it - and their activity and restaurant recommendation were spot on. And one or both were always available to answer question or provide assistance. The resort itself immediately won us over with one unexpected gesture. I made the booking for our 40th anniversary a one room ocean view cottage and they upgraded us to a spectacular 2 bedroom villa on the beach! Everything about it was beautiful - perfect. The restaurants on property are very nice and every staff member and server helpful and friendly. Activities on and off the beach are plentiful and we did almost all of them; snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Given everything we did, on and off property we’d highly recommend Rosewood Little Dix Bay the Virgin Gorda.

Fortune Favors The Brave - Who Enjoys Flying Tiny Aircrafts

Our 2nd stay at LDB. Yes, getting to the BVI from NY is a pain. But what a reward once you get there! For the second time, we were in one of their treetop suites, which are infinitely private, with good view and close proximity to the beach. We loved staying in those suites. The beach is postcard-beautiful. The whole feel of that property is bliss. Food at every dining venue was very good. Very pricey of course, but that's a Rosewood so it's to be expected I guess. Each room/suite is provided with bicycles when you arrive, but sadly, this year, they didn't have the number of the suite on them, which means that if you park yours at the restaurant, after having set it to your height, made sure it's in working condition, etc., forget about hoping to find it on your way out. It will have disappeared in the abyss of the resort. Even when parking it in front of your suite, it's like a lottery, whether you will find it the next morning, which was frustrating because riding a bike in this beautiful place on your way to a delicious breakfast is a great way to start the day. This new policy transformed this experience and it's now a free for all, very far from the Rosewood experience you can have at other places, like Rosewood Mayakoba for example. Anyways, most people don't go there to bike 500 feet so not sure why this did bother me quite a bit. Don't be like me and just enjoy this incredible place.

From Not so Good to Amazing

This was our first time to the BVI. We normally go to Turks and Caicos, but wanted a change. First off, let's be very clear that this place is not easy to get to. Trying to figure out planes, ferries, and transfers is daunting on your own. I tried that, booked my own ferry and completely messed it up in that there were better ways and more convenient time options. Do yourself a favor, utilize the butlers to set those up for you - the ferries and transfers. Also, really do your research on the flights. After many hours of travel, you arrive at the beautiful hotel. We had a daunting time getting there as mentioned. When we arrived, our room was not up to par. I won't go into great details because it's water under the bridge. I'll just say that we were not happy for the first several hours, but they ended up making it right. Our knee-jerk reaction was to not like the place because we got off on the wrong foot. I will say that mid-way through our second day, my wife and I both agreed that this place was pretty amazing. The grounds are well kept, golf cart rides at your disposal as the property is about a mile long on a bay. Not that it's a long walk, but in 90 degree heat, one doesn't wish to completely melt. There are also bikes all around the property. You can feel free to grab one and ride it to your destination. I used them a number of times and found it easy and fun. The beach is truly beautiful. It's a little rocky in some spots and not a clear in others, but not a huge deal. The hotel was somewhat busy while we were there, but you would never know it. There is enough beach for everyone. It was calm, peaceful, and the beach staff were always checking in. The staff are extremely attentive. However, on a whole, I would give them a 97%. There were a few staff who were a bit dismissive and rude on occasions and I'm not sure why. We didn't have any interactions that would warrant that. They were simple exchanges that sometimes were abrupt or downright dismissive. It didn't ruin our time and I'm pointing it out because I feel like a hotel like this shouldn't have that. Again, it was like 3 people out of a hundred interactions which happens. The butlers. I think you get what you put into this situation. Some seem to not want to use the butlers, while others, like ourselves, really utilized them. It's a little jarring at first, being asked to load an app on your phone, no keys for the rooms, and people coming and going sometimes. However, we settled into this. If you let them, the butlers will make your trip more carefree. We had two amazing gentlemen to work with, Prada, and Naru. I'm glad we let go of control and allowed them to assist us. The breakfast here is truly one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had at a hotel. The staff are all attentive and they had everything you could possibly want. My wife has a gluten allergy and they ensured they had different types of breads, including delicious banana bread for her. The prices are high at the hotel but I believe you get what you pay for. Are the lunch prices inflated to a ridiculous degree? Yes. But, they are a small island and you are staying at a luxurious resort. The rooms are very nice and clean. I recommend looking at the layout of where certain rooms are located if you care about your distance to the beach. Not that any are a great distance, but we loved our location, which was steps from the beach. So after our initial frustrations, the place won us over. So much so that we are talking about going back next year instead of our usual Turks and Caicos trip.

Top Flight Service and Food in Paradise

Beautiful location and very high quality service everywhere. Staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The Butler team makes a big difference, taking care of anything you need…every room has their own team checking in with you multiple times per day whether it’s dinner reservations, dropping off ice or water, recommendations on what to do, having a friendly chat, etc. Lots of activities on the resort and nearby. Recommend renting a jeep and driving around the island and snorkeling in the bay to see the sea turtles. Food was spectacular. Landscaping is immaculate. We hope to be back again!
