  Nice family time

  The hotel is clean in a nice area. A little updated but pools and restaurants are close by. No need to walk long distances. Food was ok. This is not a 5 star hotel but a 4. Service is excellent

  Riu Vallarta 2025

  Omar on the front counter could use a lesson in customer service and smiling lessons. The food was good. Property is great. Hot tubs would be a bonus, and plunge pools would be a great addition

  Family in tears

  Horrendous front desk customer service! They also put zero effort into actually helping & spend most of their time arguing with you and belittling. I wrote a review yesterday & instead of them contacting us directly as we still have 6 days left here they ignored us in person and write a response further lying and belittling us so they can try to save their online reputation. I booked directly with the hotel on the RIU website 11.5 months ago, yet try to blame it again on me not booking direct when I did. Arriving and having to fight to get a room with 2 beds for my Mother & Son should not have "been subject to availability" when I booked a year in advance. We all feel like nothing more than a $ . Here is my original review: If you book a standard room here you dont get a choice of 1 or 2 beds. I arrived with my Mother, my wife, and Son. After a long flight and after booking almost a year ago we were told we got 2 rooms each with a king. Grandma and 15 year old grandson dont want to share a bed, so we asked if they had any other rooms. They told us the hotel was full so too bad. I asked to speak to a manager. I have my doubts that Carlos was indeed a manager and he would not help. In fact he continued to be extremely rude to all of us while constantly playing on his phone and then disappeared. They did over a cot but we did not spend $5000 to sleep on a cot. I have never EVER been treated so poorly Carlos should be nowhere near customers ever. 3 out of 4 of us were in tears and he continued to belittle us. Finally, after 45 minutes they found us a room. The literal worst rooms in the hotel. Floor 2 above the restaurant with zero view furthest from elevators & stairs. We have 2 rooms with 2 doubles, and they couldn't be bothered, putting a pillow topper and sheets on so we are sleeping in small doubles pushed together with separate sheets for our 20th wedding anniversary. We have 7 more days here. I truly hope it gets better. We've stayed in many different Riu's and loved them but Carlos really ruined our first day & noone else seems to care. I am going to find a manager today and will update this post after. Update: noone cares here. Things are just getting worse. The response that was just posted says it all. We are still here and will be for 6 more days yet they are more concerned with their online reputation than actual customer service. Not only has the only contact been by management a scanned response here but our son's armband came off in water volleyball. My wife went to the front desk and they tried charging 500 pesos. Not only that they argued and spoke down to both of them,. Management here is awful, noone cares and as much as I used to love all the RIU's if they can't even bother to try actually reaching out personally I will be canceling all future travel here for our business with 1537 employees we annually reward with trips here.

  SPORTS BAR RIU VALLARTA

  The sports bar at this place is one of the best facilities I’ve seen in my life state of the art gaming amazing staff and great all you can eat hotdogs!!!! Don’t get me started on those hot dogs delicious unfortunately the ATM has been removed since I was there but love this sports bar one of the best bars in Puerto Vallarta

  Front desk staff had us in tears
