I have stayed at the Riu Vallarta numerous times and it did not disappoint! The food is delicious with an assortment of Al a carte’s to try on resort, the entertainment staff are amazing. With a special shoutout to Abner and Freida!

Only issue I had was with airport shuttle. I was not allowed to use this service as I booked through a service ( booking.com our friends booked through Expedia, and same for them). Others booked direct with riu and had free airport shuttle. However, our service included a hotel credit of $500. USD. Which was nearly impossible to use as it could only be applied to 3 things. Also we could go to riu Jalisco for lunch and entertainment. But not riu golden palace?.

The entertainment at this resort was disappointing overall. There was one decent female announcer, but the others were very difficult to understand. Only one evening band was good; the rest were not enjoyable. Oscar was very rude on multiple occasions and seemed unconcerned about the guests and their experience. Karaoke night was especially frustrating—it was cut short even though many guests were waiting to sing. We were told this was because the band needed to perform, but the band was poor and many guests preferred karaoke instead. Sign-up was limited, and no one informed guests when or how to sign up. When I went to the front desk to ask for a comment card, I was told they only accept online reviews for feedback, which was disappointing. Overall, Oscar repeatedly disrespected and disregarded us, which significantly affected our stay

Great place to stay & friendly staff
The staff was amazing & did a great job keeping the place clean & beautiful & were very friendly! The food wasn’t great but did have decent options (best restaurant is the Italian). We watched whales from the beach & even sea turtles being born! We had an amazing trip. Other than the food, the beds are too firm & pillows too hard but would stay here again!
