This was my fourth time here and I will continue coming here. It feels like family because every time you go back there is so much of the same people that have been there for years and I just love that because I work as a waitress in a hotel and the hotel that I work for is like family and so many people that have been there for years, so I just love the feeling the Riu Vallarta is fantastic

We stayed on the 9th floor in a beautiful, quiet and clean room, with maid service every morning (loved this). Other than the room, I felt this Riu was not as good as the others, 15+ we have stayed at in previous years. Food was a 3/10, nothing special at the Buffett, and to get into one of the A LA carte restaurants, you needed to arrive 45 minutes or earlier before the restaurant officially opened and stand in line. Many older people who can’t stand, or used walkers etc, found this challenging. The only one that was worth going to was the Italian, the Steak House was terrible, and Asian just ok. In this day, to not have a better system in place to book the A LA Carte’s is unacceptable. Everything should be available to book on line, or each room is getting so many nights at the LA Carte’s. Virtually no drink service around the pool area (there is a drink cart that does come sporadically in the afternoon sometimes). No table service for drinks in the lobby. The internet at the pool rarely works, and if you get on, it will knock you off repeatedly. The price for the room is way to high compared to other comparable hotels offering the same or better services. I guess we just expected more, as we were paying more …. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back here.

Beautiful Beachfront Hotel
Had a wonderful stay at the Riu Vallarta. We booked a family suite (adjoining rooms) and were upgraded to rooms with an amazing ocean view. The resort was clean, the entertainment staff were very engaging and there were many activities to keep everyone happy. Food was fantastic - especially at the Italian restaurant.

Best Service Ever!
Service is always welcoming and friendly....only minor issue was our room selection showed the room we choose actually had a view of the ocean. What we really had was a great view of the roof of the lower units. Tried to switch rooms when we first came in, but the hotel was booked so nothing they could do. Otherwise the vacation was very nice! Thank you RIU staff for making this another memorable trip with outstanding service!!!

Great stay! Wonderful resort and awesome staff.
We went to Riu Vallarta as part of a work incentive trip and it was a great time had by all. Overall, everything was wonderful. I'm not sure if we will return specifically to this resort as we usually look to travel somewhere new every year, but we will definitely consider another RIU property!
