Good holiday, great kids club. Disappointed that our family room only had 2 double beds for 4 of us, when we paid full price, also we had to keep asking for refills for the room which didnt always materialise.

Our stay wasn't long, we had a very nice time overall. The food was very good, the staff was very nice. My 5yr old granddaughter loved the kids pool

Accidents happen but it didn’t spoil our holiday
We stayed at the Riu 23 years ago on our honeymoon, this time we stayed with our 2 teenagers 17&15. Clean throughout, friendly staff, fantastic selection of food plus 3 other restaurants- the Italian was our favourite. Onsite gym, which I myself visited 4 times, didn’t feel intimidated. Lovely pools, and a free golf buggy optional ride to the beach - although it was a pleasant 5/10 minute walk and the beach was spectacular. During our 10 day stay we had an incident, we had been on the beach and popped in to the Riu tequila beach club for lunch, the weather changed drastically and unfortunately due to the nature of the weather it knocked my eldest flying, causing him to break his glasses and unfortunately debris sliced his eye, meaning he needed medical attention and stitches. I can not fault the manager of the Riu yachatan which is by the beach as the beach club is for those staying over at the tequila and yachatan, he was outstanding, he arranged a doctor to look over both boys as my youngest fell and was in shock, he then arranged for a taxi and paid for the hospital appointment/stitches etc - my 17 year old has Autism - the staff were very knowledgeable and understanding and to be completely honest better than the service we get back home unfortunately. Although an incident happened I wanted to turn the negative experience into a positive one as the staff at the Riu looked after my son with nothing but care - in all honestly I’d rather book direct through Riu than TUI as to fid nothing. Mexico was beautiful- thank you for a memorable holiday.

Holiday time
Absolutely loved our time here, faultless from start to finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back or try any other Rui hotels/resorts in fact we are looking for next year already.

Amazing stay!
Brilliant stay at the Riu Tequila! They had everything that you could ask for in a holiday in Mexico. The staff were brilliant, the rooms were all you needed! The à la carte restaurants were a slight let down but overall the food from the buffet was very good. We will be back! Thank you
