Amazing!
WOW !!!!Good morning, I wanted to share after my stay at RIU Republica 26/11-3/12/2025, me and my partner from Poland . Tipping: I will indicate that I only tip when I feel it is appropriate or necessary Accommodation: before departure I wrote an e-mail, checked in online and put 10 dollars in my passport and asked the lady where I would like the room on the map, i.e. the third floor, view of the ocean, palm trees and the neighboring hotel no. 3245 - I wanted to sit in this room in silence after a whole day - the room was great, the view was super relaxing, but for the 7 days of my stay there was water for maybe 3 days, if not less, normally it was only warm.....we got a large double bed and standard equipment. Just fine for RIU. We always left a tip in the room to avoid theft and situations when we do not want to appreciate the cleaning service, and in my opinion this is important. Restaurants - large selection of food, restaurants definitely too air-conditioned in my opinion. Tips We did a lunch-dinner test with and without tips. Without a tip, you may get a drink with your meal, but forget that someone will take your plate away before you leave the restaurant. You are invisible, literally transparent. With a tip - you are visible, they will bring drinks, take away dirty plates when visiting a restaurant. Generally, we didn't need service, the plates can be piled up like a pyramid on the table, that doesn't mean anything to me. The waiters and bartenders were definitely more polite, nice and cordial compared to the women. I don't know where it came from but it was very noticeable. The guys there want to be there for the guests. A huge advantage is the hotel's internal promenade, which runs along the hotel and is a great idea for those who like to walk in the evenings! RIU pool Party at RIU Bambu - amazing, definitely worth taking advantage of, but there was no information anywhere that a NEON Party was being organized... The return buses were too cold after the RIU party itself, you're going to the Dominican Republic to warm up! The swimming pools and zones are amazing, everyone can find their own corner. Personally, I think that the Saona bar is the most intimate and when you stay there you can really relax. AQUA Park - I think that the pipes should be replaced with more slippery ones because despite the water, the ride was slow and we had scratches on our backs. Evening animations, a fairy tale on the Latin stage. MUSIC - if you are from Latin America - it will suit you, if you are more from Europe - I didn't know 80% of the songs because it was Latin American music. European music was played on a very small scale, which is a pity. The beach in Republica is fabulous, look at the palm trees and sand at RIU Bambu, we went for a little walk and I thought I would regret the decision, but the choice at Republica was perfect in terms of sand and palm trees, it's amazing! We have very nice memories, we didn't sue people because we don't speak Spanish. If I were to go there as a single person with English, then, as you write on the forum, all you have to do is go to the bar and talk - no, no... I have no chance of making new friends with English. Spanish only. We saw a lot of single people but I don't know what languages they spoke. They often ran the command center on their smartphones and didn't care much about new acquaintances. And they could create a SINGLES club for such a large hotel. Then they could share a big table or something instead of sitting alone eating a meal with a smartphone.... In general, we cannot wake up after returning from the Dominican Republic to cold Poland -2 degrees. Who knows, maybe we'll go back there... However, we recommend this wonderful hotel with atmosphere, soul and everything is properly thought out and organized, but if someone expects luxury and will drive everywhere with a white glove, this is not the hotel for him. This is a hotel for a selected social group, a selected customer, not everyone. If you want luxury, choose Secrets or Hilton and it depends on which one.... WE RECOMMEND!!!!

Great Social Experience
We had a very good stay with lots of things to do. Lots of people to play beach volleyball with, socializing at the pool and a gorgeous beach with nearby Jerk Chicken station (best food at the hotel). The entertainment was lively. Service wasn't as friendly if you didn't speak Spanish, and only a few went out of their way to make the stay memorable for us due to this. Kennei was an amazing server and we appreciated the extra mile he went to chat with us at the buffet. If you are a native speaker then they're quite friendly overall. The Riu does a good overall experience and we like the brand, but this one did fall short for the a la carte. I wouldn't recommend you bother with the steak house at all as it took them 50 minutes to serve food with only half the house filled and no one came by to attend to us between delivering food...and the quality was poor for the wait. The gourmet restaurant was better but nothing else really impressed. The buffet was adequate but it was difficult to eat healthy unless you you were filling up on fruit. Be very careful to prep for foodborne illness ahead of the trip with specialty medication and skip the dairy. We couldn't pinpoint it to any specific spot, but we both became quite ill with what appeared to be professional food handling so it surprised us. Rooms were great with good cleaning and functional ac, the wifi and hot water had some trouble at the end of our stay but before that no issues. I just wouldn't want to stay above the disco again as it was very loud through the night even on the 4th floor (this was a cheaper room option). We would still rebook but there were a couple things that make this less than perfect so manage your expectations. If you need exquisite dining this may not be the one you for you, but the experience otherwise was great.

Great value and service
You truly get more than you pay for here! Every time I think about trying a different resort, I end up coming back. I’ve stayed at this property five times now, and it never disappoints. They’ve finally fixed the room key issue, which makes the stay even better. The fish and chicken are always delicious, and the whole place has an amazing, welcoming vibe.

Needs updating
Staff were great, food and drink great. The overall appearance was ok you look closer and there was missing tiles in the pool, grout missing. Was definitely not a 5* paid a lot of money only to be dissapointed.
