Terrible
Terrible, rooms outdated and need renovation. Had to change rooms twice due to an horrendous smell this morning as all over the hotel smelt like bad drains Food was absolutely terrible, yes lots of choice but cold or Luke warm even In the a la carte restaurants. You were lucky to get a beach towel Towels in the room looked dingy and felt unclean. People coming in the restaurants with just there bikinis on and very skimpy you don’t want to see that whilst eating. Awful smell in the restaurants too flies round the food , my partner had diarrhoea for 5 days which spoilt the holiday completely. It’s a shame as I have stayed in Rius in Jamaica and was very nice with standards. Definitely not a four star I would say definitely 2/3 star If your you young and just want to party then yes I’m sure you’ll have a great time young people smoking weed I thought this was illegal there and sat smoking it around the pools bars etc Never ever would I return even if you said it was free

Brilliant value for money
I came here with my friend and I really enjoyed myself. There were plenty of food choices available, staff were friendly, good drink selection, and the evening entertainment was great. We did however have issues finding the daytime activities, so we ended up missing a lot of it. It didn't always seem to correspond with the schedule on the app which left us a bit confused. Housekeeping kept knocking on our door far too early and our do not disturb hanger disappeared - 9am is too early to clean the room as we were just starting to wake up, so having to constantly tell them to come back later got very annoying. They were very polite so no issues there, it's just too early to clean the room.

Good times
This was our sixth visit to Riu Republica. We keep coming back for many reasons. First, the folks who work here are wonderful! Always a smile and ready to help. We like that we can find a pool that suits our mood, party atmosphere or quiet and resting. We've always enjoyed the pools. I am a wave lover so the beach here is perfect for me. We will be returning for our seventh time in April if all goes well. Each time we bring friends along and some of them have returned for another visit. We did buy extension adapters for our electronics since the rooms are limited on electric outlets. Our room was always kept clean by housekeeping. We are especially fond of the buffet, the jerk chicken and the other restaurant offerings.

My Stay At the RiU Republica Punta Cana
It was hot! Way hotter than I expected. I also felt like everyone spoke Spanish from the Staff to the Guest. I of course I speak very little Spanish but, thanks to my favorite language app things got a little easier. Would I go again? Sure, would next time I have to bring my buddies. I traveled alone this trip. You can party here alone, but I don't recommend it.

Really Good, but not great
The resort itself is really good, pools are maintained, rooms are cleaned daily, the alcoholic beverages were good and the grounds is well kept. The only area where it falls short is in the food quality and beverage options. Most food is good, however we came across numerous dishes that seemed old or stale or simply weren't fresh enough on a consistent basis. The main steak house meat was slightly rough even when cooked to medium. The italian restaurant was anything but italian, food wasn't fresh and the pizza fell short of the pizza in the main buffet area, also options were limited. The beverage options were Pepsi, 7up or an orange drink similar to Tang. I would expect a resort to have a good variety of soda options not just 2. on a 1-10 scale I would give the resort an 7.5 just because of how mediocre the food was.

- AdvisoryThe hotel is renovating its Kulinarium and Taj Mahal restaurants. These venues are now closed to be transformed into two brand-new concepts: an American Country restaurant and a Steakhouse. The exciting new dining options are scheduled to be completed and reopened for guests by the end of 2025.
