  Worst vacation ever!

  My partner and I planned this much needed vacation and regret the time, money and physical time we spent her. The food was horrible, the partying is nonstop, the drinks are bottle shelf for sure and please stop me before I go on! They even recycle their drink cups to the point that I saw three of their workers going through the trash (beachfront under the palm trees), separating the cups from the garbage can. I am not even lying about this! We were there for four nights five days and couldn’t wait to end this trip! I am am so done with any RIU vacation package! Plan at your own risk!

  Overall great trip with some minor issues

  I thought the property was overall pretty nice. Plenty of restaurants, pools, easy access to the ocean, and the staff was friendly. The food was standard for all-inclusive fare, nothing that truly stood out. The entertainment was actually pretty solid and the venue where performances occurred was spacious. I have to give a shout out to Cesar (bartended at the club and pool bar) who was absolutely amazing. When he saw me coming, all I had to do was hold up how many I wanted and he had my order memorized. I also want to give a shoutout to Ivanna (VIP Service at the Pink Party). She was amazing, made sure my group had everything we needed, and even spent some time with us and the table next to us. Customer service from those two was spectacular. My biggest issues came up with my room. My air conditioning didn't work so my room was set at 25.5 degrees. It was uncomfortable sleeping at night. I mentioned that to the staff the first day, when I checked in, along with the fact my TV was about to fall off its stand. They were able to fix that but not the air conditioning. Then, over the last 1.5 days, my power would randomly go out. By the time I checked out, my room had no power and I had to use the bathroom in the dark with my iPhone flashlight on.

  Party hotel with buffé restaurants

  We knew in forhand that RIU Republica was classified as a party hotel so we did not complain when there where guests screaming at 4am many nights. The buffé-restaurants had a lot of waitors whilest the alacarte restaurants har to few. We tried to book one of the steakhouse restaurants one day but waiting in line for 20min before they opened the booking was not enough, it required that you where in place 30-45min in advance. The bartenders where really nice and our cleaning lady did a extraordinary job!

  Our Recent Experience

  The resort grounds were beautifully manicured and the residences were kept clean. The staff were great and food was above average. Unfortunately my partner and myself got a GI bug while we were there despite being very diligent with bottled water. I suspect the food/ ice were not cleaned using filtered water as we were told.

  Good hotel, but worker deliberatey damaged by passport at reception because he was wrong.

  Great hotel , good food, amazing facilities had a great time and recommended the hotel. The only thing I dont recommend is having to deal with Dennis. After my friend who made the booking for us months earlier was sick and had miss our tour and go straight to our new hotel i came later to meet my friend in the lobby and check in. Dennis wouldn't allow me through security because after telling him the correct name the 2 rooms were booked under and what we booked on he said it was only 1 room ( this was a lie or just beyond me how he wasn't knowledable enough with the system to tell if it was 1 or 2 rooms. Finally hr miraculously worked out it was 2 rooms booked but insisted my friend booked 2 rooms for himself only. Why anyone would do this is beyond me at an all inclusive resort. Thankfully after managing to speak to another woman on the phone at the security gate she was able understand that 2 rooms were booked and probably not for 1 person. Then at the check in desk I was unfortunate enough to encounter Dennis again who after more frustration because he couldnt search a booking by the name and who it was through he deliberatey used his thump to bend in and attempt to damage the photo page of my passport which I have never seen any other hotel worker do before. I immediately took it back and managed to straighten it out. But you can where he has done it on the edges still. Be wary of having to deal with him and ask for anyone else if you can. Know this man is also a liar and will damage your things when you prove him wrong. Absolutely should not have a job in a hotel Other than that good hotel, and worth the stay
