    DO NOT STAY HERE

    This place is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. The rooms are horrible, stained sheets, they told us that they had “ran out of pillows” and would t provide a pillow to sleep until the 2nd night. The food is awfulllllll, nothing tastes good whatsoever, all I could eat for 3 days was fruit. I think the only reason this place has good reviews is because everyone is piss drunk. We saw cockroaches in the snack bar, and had multiple people tell us that there were mice running across the food. Service is so bad, everyone is super unfriendly and I think it’s because they think everyone else is so drunk they won’t care. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!!!!!!!

    I hate this place

    If you ever have the opportunity to stay at a RIU hotel, I strongly recommend avoiding it. Mainly the RIU República, terrible service, especially from Manuel the 'Manager' at reception, extremely rude, they only want your money, they don't care about resolving any issues if you've already paid, so you get annoyed and have to leave, and they get to keep your money. A terrible experience, the worst. You're better off staying in a seedy hotel or sleeping in your car than at the RIU.

    Christmas at Riu Republica

    My wife and I have traveled the last 10 years for my birthday which is on 12/25. This was our third trip to a Riu but our first trip to Riu Republica in Punta Cana. The Riu Staff has always been the best, and Riu Republica was no different. The entertainment was great, location was beautiful and the facility was very clean. But compared to other Riu Hotels we were a little disappointed in the food options. But other than that we had a great stay.And if you like to party late into the night this is the place for you!

    It was a great vacation

    Nice place. Plenty of food choices. Rooms were clean and spacious.AC worked well. Internet was fast. Food and Drink was available 24x7. Quality of food and drink was awesome. Next to beach. Many indoor pools . Great water sllides for family fun. Could have added a movie theater like on cruises.

    Don't believe All of the negative reviews

    I read all of the negative reviews and had a bad taste in my mouth before we even got to this resort. Im glad to say that I was proving wrong! Staff could not have been friendlier or more professional, in fact they spoiled me rotten. They never let my glass of champagne get empty, even before I asked they were right by myself like magic to make sure my glass was full and that my husband and I were happy. A special shot out to three gentlemen that made this trip worth while. Emmanuel at the quiet pool & Daurix at the restaurant near the quiet pool. There was another gentlemen in the sport bar but I neglected to get his name before we left. Our room was 2381 in the quiet building which was the best, far away from the party side of the resort. Party side had young adults who liked to party & over indulge and throw up in the lobby. We loved the sports bar and spent most of our evening there. We never went to the club or to see the shows. The Jerk chicken hut had some amazing jerk chicken, worth the 10 minute walk from the quiet side. Resort is high 1500 rooms. If you're young & want to party stay on party side. If you're of a certain age like us (56 & 58) ask for the quiet side. I've been to the DR 45 times since 2000. This wasn't my favorite resort but I have stayed at far worse all inclusive all over the world. It's not as bad as they say. However none of the food agreed with my stomach so I was glad to leave. I was there celebrating my 56th birthday & Christmas. We had a blast meeting new people from Detroit, Chicago & mostly Canada 🇨🇦 we made life long friends. Thank you Riu Republic for an amazing time. Rooms need renovating However, we had two plugs in the room that actually worked which is one more plugs than most people said worked in their rooms. We probably won't return to Riu Republica but we thank you regardless

    d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
