- Complimentary use of gym facilities, including the on-site sauna. Vacay is the time to purify.
- Hanging out at the Jacuzzi poolside and letting the stress leave your body.

New Adventure which turned out great
I am going to start to say that we went on March Break before the full-blown outbreak of COVID-19. As the week went on the Tourist Police shut down the beach, pool, bars, disco, theater, no day trips, and a la carte restaurant. We flew into Rio Hato airport which is small but very convenient as the drive was only 10 mins. Group of 23 people Sunwing gave us all a packet for check-in, the only issue was they only had French pamphlets and no English. On arrival to the hotel we were directed to the center of the lobby, they had 5 people checking in a guest which made it quick. Our room was ready but the rest of our group had to wait until after 3 PM This hotel is small so it was easy to find anything you needed. The food was good, we went to the Steak house a couple of times and it was good. The cheese sticks were amazing so we went a couple of times so just get them to take to the buffet. Beach (when it was open) was beautiful, black sand and hot. We walked as far as we could and it was nice every morning. Pools - they were nice and warm. We seen them cleaning them daily and testing the water. Food - Buffet was good- if you can't find something to eat you are picky, A la Carte- Steak house was great , didn't try Asian , the Italian was good as per a couple of people in our group. Bars - Most of the bartenders were nice and friendly. There was one bartender that would not serve non-locals which were frustrating. The bartender was Domi, he would go above and beyond to his customers Little Markets - the prices were what you expected Lobby Staff - were ok, could be more personnel but the dealing is ok. Since we didn't have the full experience due to COVID-19 we look forward to going back to try this place out.
Amazing once again
Beautiful resort, friendly people, great food especially at the Italian. Very clean, security at pools keep things running smoothly. There are 4 pools. One swim up which is where I spent most of my time, they have a great kids pool with slides and sprinklers. Entertainment every night the dancers are amazing and very talented different show every night. Drinks are always made the same no surprises. Walked the beach every day it is a public beach and the tide is out in the mornings so flat and easy to walk on. Tide comes in around 5pm. Did not swim in the ocean as I heard there were a lot of jellyfish. It is only 7 minutes from the airport which I like more time at the pool. 😁 This is my second time to this resort and I will definitely be returning.
Nice place, poor service, staff not friendly, same food all week. Alacart restaurants not much better. Did not stock in room fridge. Very little nightly entertainment. Did not put fresh towels in room daily.
Riu Playa Blanca is the perfect getaway
The service and staff are definitely a ten out of ten. They tended to ALL our request immediately with expertise. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and most of all very clean. The hotel's proximity to the airport is a plus that's for sure. A special note goes out to Rosa, the manager who goes above and beyond the call of duty for the guests. What RIU needs is more employees like Rosa. Enough said, my wife and I will surely recommend this resort to anyone who is searching for the ultimate holiday getaway.
Wedding and disaster
Very disappointed with this hotel. Very disappointed with the service from the hotel staff. Lies about everything. Pool closes and no access to beach. Not our fault they say. Left after 2 nights and 3 days and was charged for 3 nights was promised a full refund due to pools and water access being cancelled, to find they changed it to 4 days. Discussed it and in front of 3 of my friends and myself were told we will get 5 day refund to be told within a minute that we were misunderstanding the conversation. In front of 4 people and the manager called us liars. Many people told that they cannot do anything and yet they promised the world. Very disappointed and disgusted on how we were treated. Will never go back.
