  Girls trip

  Girls trip great resort have been there seven times best beach ever friendliest workers especially upstairs bar Katie and Lisa captain crazy at the buffet diamond and snoop on the entertainment team and Julian and Isabel in management. Love this resort can’t go wrong with it.

  Best Vacation Ever

  I have travelled to many places, however non of the places have touched my heart like this one.The resort, and staff are awesome. I will be back in December

  Fantastic Stay!

  Travelled in June 2025 with my partner for 1 week. We enjoyed our time and will be back :) We had an ocean view room (highly recommend the upgrade!) Pros: The beach is crystal clear and warm! Sand is white and not rocky Excellent selection of food at buffet and good quality Jerk chicken hut was delicious! Good variety of options for a la Carte’s (no issues with booking either) Entertainment options were great even on the rainy days RIU party was a blast No issues getting beach chairs Enjoyed the 24/7 lounge with snacks and beverages Plenty of chairs at the pool areas Mid sized resort and wasn’t too big so you could easily walk to amenities VERY well maintained outside, super clean walkways and even when it rained they ensured to clear the pathways of puddles Cons: Distance from the airport - roughly 2 hours if you book through a group shuttle (I recommend the upgrade to private transfer) The beds were uncomfortable and 2 beds were pushed together which was a little odd and uncomfortable in the middle Room service was sometimes inconsistent (we had to call a few times to get our room cleaned) The gym and the rooms are a little outdated Shout out to Damian and Twain who served us all week at the buffet and were very attentive. Shoutout to Andrew at the pool bar who was always ensuring we were topped up with drinks Shout out to Iyesha at reception who provided us excellent customer service and ensured we enjoyed our stay

  Great stay

  We had a lovely time. The resort is on the basic side so if you’ve stayed at other Riu palace’s, this particular one is scaled back a lot. It’s also much smaller than other palaces which we liked. It was almost boutique size. Walking everywhere was within a couple minutes. Rooms were nicely updated. Our room was in building 0. Closest to the road in the garden view area. The road traffic can be disruptive if you’re a light sleeper or if noise bothers you. So it’s something to consider when booking your room category. The property itself seems bare. I would’ve liked to have seen more vegetation and trees. The resort floods everytime it rains so they have river rock pathways everywhere that divert the water to drains. However the walkways stay very slippery as they are tiled. Kinda dangerous. We only ate at the buffet and the food for dinner particularly was phenomenal and we are picky eaters. We didn’t have a bad meal. The app for dinner reservations was very difficult. It did not recognize our room number and the front desk couldn’t figure it out. The restaurant menus did not appeal to us so we stuck to the buffet and were not disappointed. The beach here is the real selling point. Zero waves. Clear blue aqua water. Lots of palm trees for shade as well. The entertainment at night besides the bands, which were great, was kind of cheesy. It’s very quiet at night. So we were bored every night after dinner. Some entertainment also started too late. Around 10-11pm. Was not worth staying up for it. Overall we had a nice time. Met some great people.

  Our second stay at RIU Palace Tropical Bay June 2025

  This was our second stay here as we enjoyed our stay here last year. It’s a lovely clean hotel and gardens are immaculate. Rooms are comfortable but maybe getting ready for little tweaks here and there. The room this year had a fab view down onto the beach but the entrance backed onto gardens which were next to the main road and this was quite busy and noisy. We want to say a big thank you to Andre for keeping us hydrated with drinks on the beach, he is great and gives a great beach bar service. The beach is beautiful and the water is warm. The restaurant always has plenty to choose from and plentiful. We did not book any of the other places to eat. We want to say thank you to Fiona our housekeeper who kept our room clean. There is always plenty of clean towels too. Hello to the ladies in the Martinis bar. We had a lady serve us most nights but we did not catch her name but she is lovely and always remembered what coffee we wanted and what drinks we usually drank. Cocktails in here are great. We did not do any of the trips as we have been to Jamaica several times and done most of them. The duty free at the airport is also very good. We would return.
