This is a great resort. Compared to other Riu resorts this is above them in my opinion. The room was a bit underwhelming for me when I arrived. But it proved me wrong! The layout was exactly how I like it. Lots of room for clothes, a nice seating area, a great balcony and a lovely bed. The shower was amazing and very spacious. And after a few days I got used to the fact that it's all open concept (except for toilet of course). So would say it's for couples or very close friends. The cleaning of the room was also on point and we were gifted quite a few terry cloth animals during our stay - thanks Reyvi. Overall the food was good. The specialty restaurants were nice, we preferred Krystal, Agave and I'll Portico. The buffet was also good but in a buffet you tend to overload your plate and not everything matches. But very nice selection of meats, charcuteri and Mexican dishes. The buffets for breakfast and lunch however did not vary, so when you're here for 2 weeks you grow tired of it. I can only rate one of the 4 pools and that's the one with the swim-up bar. It's lovely and quiet in the morning and gets busier after noon. But it was great and had lots of seating. When it comes to sunbeds you still have to go and hawk one in the morning if you don't want to lie on the beach where there's always sunbeds available. We didn't interact or participated with the entertainment team, but they seemed nice. The shows in the evening were a joke. Or maybe it's just not for us. One thing we did like was the silent disco, that's always fun. Drinks in the pool bar were good, nothing fancy on the menu, so people ordered whatever they wanted and the bartenders delivered. Apart from one stressed out guy who only blended my drink for 10 seconds, all were excellent. I can't remember all of their names, but I liked 'the miav guy' and Fabian whose drinks were always great AND delivered with a smile and a greeting. Good guy, he should get a pay rise. And of course we can't forget the "Loco" ladies in the lobby bar, they were just lovely. WiFi worked where ever you were and never let us down. So to conclude: I will definitely come back if I can and I will recommend it to everyone I meet. Should I wish for one thing for them to improve it's that they get some better wine. The red and rose wine was not good.

Great spot for young families
We stayed for a week with our 19 month old. The resort is clean and well kept. The staff friendly and very helpful. The food was great. Our little one loved meeting new friends at the kiddies pool. It was really nice as well to see so many couples with young children. The nightly shows were awesome!

Great Hotel in Playa del Carmen
What a pleasure to stay at this amazing place. Great rooms, all inclusive, good food, party…. anything what the heart desires. The Staff is really nice and hardworking, try to make everyone happy. Thank you so much and we will definitely come back.

Great Getaway in Playacar
Lovely location. Lots of greenery that is extremely well maintained. Food and bar service was exceptional. Everything in the room worked as it should. Only small issue was that our room was close to a designated smoking area, and the smoke always drifted toward our balcomy. We'll certainly go there again..

Highly recommend
Very Clean property - something I always put at the top of my priorities! Great and frequent service for drinks with water being served non-stop at the beach. I’ve been to places in the area where the food was a bit better, but the food here didn’t disappoint with good options and no need for prior reservation days before (something annoying from other hotels), allowing to decide what you want to eat last minute. There you can find peace and quiet and you can also party in the other properties - it has a good balance. Highly family oriented with guests behaving well. Beach is awesome and pool very clean, and very easy to move from one to the other.
