  The hotel on arrival is spectacular

  The hotel on arrival is spectacular and overall was a really nice place. I'll begin with the negatives Firstly, we after 2 days we were forced to have to ask to change rooms, the room smelt foisty from the moment you stepped in, whilst I'm aware Dominican is a humid country this was unbearable and the other room our family had didn't smell like this. However, I must add on the 1st day when we mentioned this at Reception, they immediately had the room cleaned and then when it was no better, they moved us immediately. Once this was sorted, I felt we were able to enjoy our holiday a little better. Secondly, if travelling with young children under the age of 8 I really wouldn't recommend this hotel, (The others RIU's would be more suited) Whilst there is a tiny children's pool and entertainment it’s not very well advertised and away from the main pool. At 12pm every day someone came round to do exercises but then any other dancing was at the adults only pool. There was a mini disco at night before the entertainment and the entertainment team are good, I just feel that it was more aimed towards adults. Thirdly, Smoking and eating in the swimming pools. I wasnt so fussed for people smoke anywhere but I just couldn't understand why smoking in the pool is a thing! People were even walking around in the adult pool with them in their mouths or hands. Same for eating in the pool. I understand its hot, but no one needs to be swimming with a chicken Leg. Now let’s focus on the more positive side, The staff could not do enough for you, all of them were friendly and after a few days started to remember who you were and your orders. They really do put some hours in and deserve the credit. The gardens and fountains were beautiful. Every day without doubt out mini fridge was stocked up and our room was cleaned, our daughter loved coming back to find what the maid had left us (made from a towel). We used the room services on a couple of occasions and this was nice. Any issues we also put through the app was immediately sorted, 1st night (In the old room) the TV had a line, we called them because the remote wouldn't work and they just swapped the whole TV for a new one. I recommend giving all the restaurants a go, they all were lovely and helped break up, these are walk in and if they have no room, you can receive a buzzer and be called back when a table is free. We attended the water park one day, this is a good size, and you can get drinks only on site. It didn't seem to be manned by anyone. (Maybe this and snacks could be an option for the future) but the kids and big kid (Dad) loved the slides. We really did have a lovely time, Although I dont think I'd come back to this hotel again I would be tempted to try one of the others in the resort as we took a walk through when we came back from the water park and they looked lovely.

  Punta Cana ROCKS!

  The hotel was overall very nice. I would stay again. Luis, the server in the buffet restaurant, was perfect

  RIU Palace Punta Cana looks like PALACE outside and inside. We are very happy can to be in this place. Thank you for all of you.

  good, calm place

  Nice and lovely place. Staff was fantastic. Food was good with lots of iteams but as a vegetarian we were very limited. There was no vegetarian food option in any of the special restaurants so we end up eating in buffet everyday. In buffet, None of the food item listed properly with name or with main ingredients in it. It was very disappointing. Also, before you go check seaweed season, we couldn't able to go any of the day into the ocean because of seaweeds.

  Great relaxing holiday

  Great holiday service very good especially tatiana at lunch! Plenty of sunbeds! Would prefer being able to book restaurants.
