A great family friendly experience.
Amazing service and a great atmosphere. Rita was amazing and always took care of us for breakfast! The rooms were always clean and tidy whenever we got back!

Nov 13, 2025Vacation from November 1-6
We had a very nice vacation the first week of November 2025. There were 7 members of family and friends in our group. The resort is quite large, but after eating all day, it’s definitely needed.we had a friend unfortunately in a wheelchair, so getting around was a bit hard, because the elevators are on either side of the resort, aswell as many stairs getting to the pools and beach. But again our friend had an unexpected situation that week. The food was great, ribeyes, filets, octopus, shrimp, pozole, omelettes,ice cream , crepes,etc, the resort didn’t really didn’t lack anything , the coffee bar is great in this resort aswell as the Riu palace peninsula.. the beach access was sandy, almost no rocks, very pleasant. Moises and Alex were excellent waiters at the beach and the pool! Great service, very kind and welcoming! Canelo at the pool bar was fun and great aswell ! The entertainment team was very fun, Daisy was great at volleyball and a blast at the neon party, rueben was great at water aerobics , and jhonny was a good leader. Unfortunately the last 2 days of vacation the air conditioning went out, that was not fun, my wife was not happy with the fact the toilet room had no exhaust fan, and the toilet was hard to flush .. but thats a preference. The resort is about an hour from the airport, keep that in mind, but in all We had a good time! And we really like the Riu brand

Above and beyond
During our stay there was a power outage for several days in the town. The whole resort kept running on generators, but there was no air conditioning in the rooms or in the public spaces, nor was there hot water in the showers. But all things considered, the staff did an amazing job keeping everyone happy, working in boiling hot kitchens, cleaning, and making memories for us, all with a smile and no complaints. Once everything got turned on again it was even more incredible. The grounds and spaces of this place are absolutely stunning! It’s truly a paradise. The parties they put together are actual productions with insane effects, djs, dancers, and props. It felt like an all out vegas party. We participated in the neon (family friendly) party, as well as took the provided bus to the adult pink party at another resort. The food is delicious and here’s a huge variety for every palette, however we were not able to eat at any of the restaurants other than the buffet. You can’t make reservations so you have to get a buzzer and we didn’t want to wait each time.

Freddy with the painting for riu art was amazing. Extremely helpful and encouraging while we were painting the hats (even in the rain!)
