Big up to the management and staff of Riu Ocho Rio, Jamaica🇯🇲. My family and I spent the weekend there and the experience was amazing. Great food and appealing atmosphere. Shout out to Olivia at the front desk; she handled things like a pro👍. The bellmen, especially Jason sure had things under control by ensuring that the bags were properly sanitized and the guests temperature were in check💯. Desroy and Archie from the bar big up unuh damn self. You guys are doing a fantastic job. Lady Tamesha and Sasher from the dining room; awesome job. Sous chef Taylor gwaan duh yuh ting. Anthony on the grill yuh large. The ladies from entertainment knows how to put on a show. Would definitely recommend this resort if you are looking for an unforgettable experience♥️
RIU Ocho Rios is without a doubt the best family resort on the island. With friendly, efficient staff ,clean ,spacious rooms and memorable entertainment, I was mesmerize by it all. I particularly liked the special treatment that children receive. I have been to many hotels on the island but none can compare to RIU Ocho Rios!! Locals feel like kings and queens, international guests feel safe and secure. The pools are clean and safe. Food that will make your mouth water and an ambience that takes your breath away.
A really nice and relaxing hotel but needed more activities and areas for children.
Everything was fine except the childrens play area and the children water park area were closed which was a bummer because this was the only reason why I chose this hotel. My children didnt really enjoy themselves as their were adults in the pool doing adult stuff and I had to take my kids mostly on the beach because I did not want them to see that. They also needed more childrens food such as burgers and fries and cereal, fish stix, porridge.Otherwise the food was great and my room was nice with a good view and the level of customer service was exceptional.I will return again if the water parks and children amenities reopen.
I really enjoyed myself, there was minimal discomfort in regards to the new covid measures. Sadly not all the restaurants are open as a result food options are limited for a picky eater like myself, breakfast was on point though.
I don't write reviews but i felt like i had to this time. So i went to Riu Ochi Rios after they advertised that they JUST refurbished and the rate was cheap. I made my reservation which was quite easy and drove to ochi rios. When i arrived there were alot of sanitation points and you were advised to wear your mask, which was fine. I STOOD IN THE CHECK IN LINE FOR 2 HOURS, no welcome drink, no reason why the line was long, NO NOTHING. Anyway we got to the counter (I paid for seaview room, just so you know) and i was advised that i was being given a free room upgrade so i was like, GREAT but what's the difference though. The employee then stated that what i paid for i would turn my head to see the sea, he was now offering me ocean front, again i did not pay for partial seaview, however it was fine. Eventually go to the room where i was greeted by a roach, went to eat and my waitress caught a fly (accidentally) with the water glass. :-/ I reported the roach issue and there was no surprise or shock from the staff. Anyway next day, went to the beach, no waitress to ask what drink you wanted or anything. after room service cleaned the room , i was met by another roach PLUS dead bees outside the room door, when i asked about the bees i was told they spray the place at night but when the bees and bugs died it was just on the floor. ANYWAY, the pillows were flat and smelled . BUT THE MAIN THING, THE MAIN THING! THE FOOD WAS EXTREMELY BLAND AND TASTELESS , WE GOT SICK AFTER EVERY MEAL AND WE HAD TO LEAVE PROPERTY TO EAT SOMETIMES. All in all yes this is a budget hotel but they didn't seem to care or be trying after we spent "so much" money
