A little piece of paradise
What a fabulous time we had, a little piece of paradise. The food, drinks, room and staff all amazing. All the restaurants are great lovely food, lots of choice and the staff were very efficient and polite. The only very small complaint was the room was sometimes cleaned a little late and some ignorant guests smoked in their room and the alarm went off. The entertainment staff were full of energy and interacted with all the guests during the day and on an evening. If the entertainment wasn't for us we just went to the bar in reception or back to our room, which was very comfortable. We went on 2 trips one to the Blue Mountains and Bob Marleys house it was a long day but we thoroughly enjoyed it. And river rafting which was a great experience. The quiet pool was just next to our room in block 2 and was exactly that quiet. Loads of sunbeds, the water was warm and Bob's bar a couple of minutes walk away. We loved it and will definitely be back.

Return to this hotel after 14 years
We first went to this hotel 14 years ago we tried to book it last year, but the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment, so we ended up booking the palace next door so this year we managed to book back here. On arrival, We managed to book a swim up room I must say the person we dealt with at the reception was brilliant. It was a young man. Can’t remember his name the room we booked was 2018 in block two the room itself was very nice. The only complaint we had was the room was cleaned very late in the day between 330 and four we would come back to the room after spending the day on the beach. and all you want to do is get a shower but we had to wait for housekeeping to come with fresh towels we did on a few occasions tell her to leave the room and just and just took the fresh towels. We found that if you left the shower till later there would be no hot water so we liked to have a shower about 4 pm. Think this must be a bit of an issue with the water on speaking to a few other people in the block said the same. Food. We have stayed in lots of RIU hotels over the years, the buffet restaurant you can always find something you like we used the steakhouse restaurant twice while We was there that was nice. Bars. We only used two bars when we was there one in reception and the sports bar the bar staff were brilliant. I will post a picture of the staff they are Credit to the hotel they really made our holiday with laughing and joking. Staff. Wherever you go, you get a good staff and they bad staff. Sunbeds. One thing I liked is the amount of sunbeds there was on the beach and around the pools so there was no need to get up early to get one. Overall this was a brilliant holiday I would even go to say it’s better than the palace down the road which you pay more for. I will definitely recommend this hotel to people. This was really enjoyable. Return to this hotel.

Wonderful stay
Just returned from 2 weeks here. Was a fab resort , food was excellent , staff were friendly , pools clean and rooms cleaned everyday to a high standard. Locals on the beach friendly and respectful. Fabulous seaside for snorkelling. Only couple of downers were, room smelt very damp on arrival , but there was no damp anywhere. The Italian restaurant is advertised as a la carte but it was definitely not . One lifeguard was particularly rude a couple of times. Tui reps were wonderful. Would stay again if fancied a nice all inclusive break for relaxing and snorkelling.

You want an amazing relaxing holiday then this is the place.
We've just returned to the UK after spending 11 nights there. We all had a great time. Beautiful hotel and beach. Great selection of food. Friendly staff. Only negative was entertainment was on a bit late for us. We will definitely go back in the future.

Honest feedback from a disabled guest
I wanted to share my experience as a non–wheelchair using disabled guest during my recent stay. Whenever I book holidays, I always email ahead to request a ground-floor room close to the main facilities. As a Riu Gold member, my requests have always been acknowledged and often exceeded — until this visit, unfortunately. On arrival, I was allocated a room right at the end of Block 1 (Room 1064), which made access to restaurants and pools quite difficult. When I called to ask about a room closer to the amenities, I was told (rather abruptly) that the hotel was at full capacity, so no change could be made. I completely understand that room requests can’t always be guaranteed, but I was disappointed to later hear that some able-bodied guests had been moved without issue. Because of the distance and lack of accessibility, I found the walk to the main areas extremely challenging. The long treks really took a toll on my joints, and on several occasions I had to skip lunch or dinner simply because I couldn’t manage the walk. For guests with mobility challenges, accessibility really matters, and in this area the resort sadly fell short. There was only one accessible toilet available on a resort that accommodates around 600 guests, which made things quite inconvenient. Given that the property was newly renovated in December 2024, I expected more inclusive design and updated facilities for guests with varying needs. That said, there were still some lovely positives worth mentioning. The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained, and the maintenance and gardening staff do a fantastic job. A special mention to Lennox, Akeem, and all the staff at Bob’s Bar — they were consistently friendly, helpful, and a real credit to the resort. The food was excellent across all restaurants, with a great range of options and quality that lived up to Riu’s usual standards. My only disappointment was being unable to dine at the Italian restaurant due to the stairs. Overall, this is a beautiful resort in a stunning part of Jamaica, but I do feel Riu could do more to make it genuinely inclusive and accessible for all guests. My feedback is shared in the hope that it helps improve the experience for others with disabilities in the future. While this stay didn’t quite live up to my past Riu experiences, I’m hopeful these issues can be addressed so that every guest — regardless of mobility — can enjoy everything this resort has to offer.
