What We Love

- You'll love the "drink of the day" - fun, sometimes fruity, and definitely worth a cheers.
- Every room has a balcony and nothing beats sitting outside your room with warm ocean breezes.
Things to Know

Do not go. Think Twice . Just 3 Star
I don’t usually post but I need to let everyone know of the unsatisfactory service received by RIU Resort. Montego Bay. We stayed there from March 13–19th, The last 2 days on the 17th, we were informed they were closing on the 19th due to COVID-19 which was understandable. However we paid full price for each room for a fully functional resort. The last two days, only 1 restaurant out of 4 were opened to eat with not much variety, not even ice cream and no entertainment. Same food at lunch was offered at dinner. I asked for a reasonable compensation and was told they would give me in credits which equates to $$75!!!. Why would I want credits to go back? I think during this time, with the economy and personal hardships we are going through this company would try and provide excellent customer service, wanting business back in future. There is no email on their website to escalate to contact their Head Office Management which shows their sincerity in their commitment to providing good customer service. I will make sure I continue to spread the word to my friends, family and co-workers. Num: 159119] : Voucher RNT39M4H We finally got back a response asking for our understanding. What about theirs. No compensation offered. We sent pictures as requested of the empty food areas. I paid close to US $800 a night for 2 rooms and what did i get? Let me repeat again. Hut on beach was closed. only 1 restaurant opened that day and no entertainment Very disappointed. Is that fair to treat your customers like that and do not compensate them? Warning - Do not go , they do not care. They just want your money . Pick somewhere else. This is only a 3-4 star.
My fathers 70th
My father chose this hotel for the 4 of us (my parents, my wife and myself) for his 70th birthday holiday. He chose this as hed stayed her 2 years previous with my mum for their 40th wedding anniversary and for that holiday they said it was an amazing experience. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of this one. My parents were bitterly disappointed this time round as they said the entertainment, food and all round experience seemed like it was being wound down (in anticipation of the upcoming renovations I'd imagine). Compared to their previous stay the entertainment was no where near what they had experienced and the buffets were never as well stocked and the choices not as variable. This was constantly playing on my parents mind as they felt they had picked a sub standard hotel for us all. Prior to our departure from England I personally had been in direct contact with the hotel via email and had several times explained that my parents have mobility issues and other disabilities, my mother recently having a knee replacement my father having knee and hip replacements and requiring further replacements whilst also suffering from COPD. I explained that my father is easily made unwell by long walks or having to climb stairs. I requested a room for them as close to amenities as possible and on the ground floor. Upon arrival they was put in a totally inappropriate for their disabilities and after much back and forth we was finally moved to a room on the first floor as far away from the lift as possible, it was explained that these were the only rooms available at the time. Whilst I appreciate that the hotel was busy, I first started correspondence with the hotel 6 months prior to our arrival so a suitable room for my parents was 100% achievable!!!. This extra walking and climbing left my father in agony and gasping for breath for the duration of our holiday and as such ruined our holiday. We are regular customers of RIU having stayed at riu ahungalla 3 times riu palace in Bulgaria, cape verde and several times in spain but this experience has put us off staying at a riu again. We have a holiday booked for September in Bulgaria again and are going back to sri lanka in February if we are allowed to book by our foreign office but that is now dependent on what response this review gets! The only one saving grace about this hotel was the staff who were amazing and welcoming but that doesnt come close to making up for the other lacking
First time in Jamaica and the whole trip was wonderful planning on coming back. The Entertainment was great. I had a great time there and the Entertainment welcome you and everything and they treat you like family . And the waiters and server are always there when you need same thing and helpful if you don’t know were you go. And awesome music from the DJ and he really nice too.
Good food, entertainment and friendly staff
Great place to relax. Nice beach. Main restaurant food was very good, plenty of choice and staff were helpful. Rooms were a bit dated but comfortable. Unfortunately we went March 2020. After 7 days we were moved to the Riu Reggae just long the way because the hotel was closing due to the corona virus outbreak.
