Excellent vacation, food, service, cleanliness was all great. Entertainment was great with a strong focus on family. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling with kids. I would likely pick a more adult oriented for my next stay, however, I really enjoyed my vacation and this property.

We had the best stay at RIU Jalisco! Our room was outstanding! We hadn't been back to Puerto Vallarta in 20 years, as we love the Mayan, but we were very happy with the hotel. The hotel shuttle was fast and easy to use. The beach and ocean swimming were a highlight. The blue cabana beach massages are a must do! We will definitely go back.

We arrived on April 20 with very high hopes! When we checked in, the woman at reception didn’t tell us where anything in the hotel was located, operating hours for pools, restaurants etc. When we got to our room, the two queen beds were pushed together in the centre of the room which I thought was kind of odd for a room booked for a family of 4. There was no extra space in our room to separate the rooms either. By Tuesday my husband became extremely ill. Fever, chills, intense stomach cramping, vomiting and diarrhea. The next day he went to see the resort doctor and was given fluids and medications. His symptoms did not get any better and went back to the doctor on Friday to get antibiotics. By Friday night I began getting similar symptoms. And Saturday, my friend that we travelled with was bed ridden and horribly ill as well. We were all incredibly safe with not using or drinking tap water. It’s just very concerning that 3 of us out of our very small group all got very sick while staying at this resort.

This place is great for 20 year old's, so uncomfortable, hip to hip in the pool, screaming blasting music, shoulder to shoulder in the pool. Great PARTY place that's it. Not for people that want to relax. The waves were so high in the ocean it was not good. We braves it once and both got flipped over within seconds of going in just above our knees. The beach area is so small and loud, people are packed in like sardines and constantly being harassed by vendors. Sometimes it's nice to be able to purchase local trinkets etc, but they sent children out to sell stuff, there were some between 5-10 years old. They looked like they were going to cry when you said no thank you!

The hotel is beautiful. The view and the scenery is immaculate.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with kids or without kids. The nighttime entertainment was amazing. The food was great. The pools were awesome.
