    Great experience RIU Emerald Bay Feb 2026

    Great little airport for arrivals, hired private taxi from airport. Zone 2 $590 pesos took about 15 minutes on the highway. Downloaded the app and checked in advance of arrival, took about 10 minutes at the desk and we were in our room. App is great for check in and request prior to arrival and used to restock mini bar throughout the stay. Response time 10-15 minutes! Room 714 in the middle of tower beautiful view. Quiet room from hotel end a bit noisy from pool area but manageable with the door closed. Room was spacious requested king bed, needed to step into tub for a shower but not an issue. The vibe is vacation and relaxing, staff friendly and accommodating, hotel tower is a bit older but in good repair. New addition is nice but a bit too modern for my taste would prefer more authentic Mexican decor as tower area. Inside and out very clean! Pool area well maintained perhaps more stations to drop off plates as people would leave laying about and attached birds. Mentioned in app and staff were cleaning up after quests ASAP. Great beach area lots of space and lounge chairs. Yes there are vendors and two bands playing at the same time but nothing resort can do. 2nd stay at Riu other was Cancun both great quality of hotel and food for the price. Would highly recommend.

    Amazing vacation!

    I highly recommend the Riu Emerald Bay. My young adult children and I spent last week there. From the shuttle service, food, drinks, pools, beach, you name it, everything was fabulous! The staff are incredible.

    This resort has it all. Great food, great staff, room views were amazing. Awesome beach. The only downside is the elevators could work more efficiently. Great for families

    Lovely resort!

    RIU Emerald Bay is a lovely resort! We stayed in the newer section, rooms at spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable. The buffets were very good, lots of variety and good quality. We only tried one speciality restaurant the Tabasco, it was not very good. There are lots of chairs, the pools are great, the beach is spectacular!

    Riu emerald bay

    Great location and amazing pools. Hotel beds and pillows were less than comfortable, and housekeeping staff spoke no English. Front desk staff left a lot to be desired, every time we asked them to help with a reservation or lost and found they just gave us an answer, didn’t even pretend to check availability.
